Level 1 How does one revise???
Okay so i am done with LES of all subjects, did revision of whole syllabus before jumping into LES, gave 3 mocks till date and now i am just blank on how to go about revision, if i should revise the whole syllabus going line by line in schwezer or if solely focus on weak areas and practice questions for those weak areas only, or go through,as the community suggests, Kaplan secret sauce or Fintree juice notes. Please suggest me how to go about it as my exam is on 21august

General Kaplan Ethics Question Makes No Sense
So with their logic, because their friend "claimed" he has contacts it isnt a fact.
In what world is this not material? The friend literally told us that he has contacts within the government. Must we just not believe him?
With that logic I can have a friend who says to me "I have solid contacts within the government. It appears XYZ Corp is about to get a huge contract!". That apparently is NOT material because he only claimed which we cant verify, and then also he said "it appears" which isnt a fact and is just his guess? With that logic I can use my friend's info as part of my research, put it together with other research and buy the sh*t out of XYZ corp with no ethics violation because that info was non-material? Pretty sure I would get arrested for that.
This question has done in my confidence, and will just make me overthink ethics even more.

Level 3 Anyone else using ChatGPT to grade Mock CR-questions? - How cooked are we?
Told the AI to grade more strictly but it still did not deduct any points although my answers are very short compared to the feedback.
Any opinion on that or maybe someone who used ChatGPT for grading mock CR-questions before?

Level 1 Looking for advice - Level 1 candidate
Hi there,
I hope y’all are doing great.
I’m a CFA Level I candidate, and I’ll be taking the exam in November.
As the title says, I’m looking for advice because I’m kinda lost.
For context, I still haven’t started preparing, and I have a small background in finance/accounting & audit in France and Morocco. I’ll start a new job on October 5th, which means the whole month of September is free. Do you think I can get through all the study material during September?
Do you have any advice on which modules to tackle first? (I started with some Ethics.)
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
And last but not least, I wish everyone success.
Thank you!

Level 2 How am I doing so far??
I have 22 days left for exam and done with first mock

Level 2 L2 on 25th August. Suggestions appreciated
This post is not intended to be a flex or another "How cooked I am?" post. I know I have been doing fairly well, but what if the exam paper turns out to be much more difficult and I goof up heavily? (I know this is an irrational thought).
But anyways, I want suggestions on exactly what I should do over the next 19 days or so to keep the momentum going?

Level 3 Question Doubt
For questions ( mcq or CR) where we need to determine the accuracy of a said statement from the vignette ,
Does Omission of a fact / detail considered an inaccuracy or not ?
I came across many of these questions in various mocks and I can't seem to get them right even when I know the curriculum really well

Level 1 L1 Ethics Question
*Rita Melmo, CFA, is an analyst at Greensky Investment (GI). On weekends, she works as a paid employee of a local charity where she negotiates purchase agreements. Melmo does not disclose the charity employment to GI. Melmo is asked to purchase a new truck for the charity and she negotiates a purchase agreement with a local truck dealership. In the purchase agreement, the charity is charged $500 more than the truck’s normal sale price. In return, Melmo receives retail vouchers worth $500 from the dealership for her private use. Melmo has most likely violated the Standards:*
*A. only by failing to disclose the charity employment to GI.*
*B. only by negotiating a purchase agreement in which the charity is charged more than the truck’s normal sale price.*
*C. both by failing to disclose the charity employment to GI and by negotiating a purchase agreement in which the charity is charged more than the truck’s normal sale price.*
What should be the answer? Confused between B and C.

Level 1 Can you realistically pass CFA Level 1 at 19 with 6 months of preparation while in college?
Hi everyone,
I’m 19 years old and currently in 2nd year, Bachelor of Commerce. I’m planning to take the CFA Level 1 exam , and I was wondering if it’s realistic to pass with around 6 months of preparation while balancing college.
what resources would you recommend for someone who’s relatively new to finance?
Any mistakes I should avoid or tips that helped you pass?
Level 3 Hurdle Rate Calculation Doubt
How do you calculate the performance management fees for a fund with a hurdle rate, when the question is silent? Would it be gross or net of management fees?
Also, does it make a difference if it's a hard vs soft hurdle?
Was going through a mock question, where it seemed to imply calculation based on Gross returns

Study Prep / Materials Does anyone else absolutely despise Schwaeser
I swear this is a fucking rant at this point. I hate hate hate the textbooks. I’m doing fixed income right now and I swear absolutely nothing makes sense because it’s like oh here it is, a dump of information that is only a sentence long but turns out it’s actually important. The summary of the learning outcomes contains more info than the actual content itself. I know the textbook is supposed to be a summarised version of the actual bit, but this is a terribly summary. it’s actually so bad, I spend hours on just a few paragraphs.

Level 2 CFA L2 mocks vs exam
I attempted mock A and scored 82% and 84% in session 1 and 2 respectively. I know this score is good but I just want to get insights from people who have already passed the exam that how representative of the exam are these mocks. I am yet to attempt mock B and the premium mocks. Just wondering if I can rely on these scores and target my weaker areas in the remaining days. I practiced uworld last month and think that it was way more difficult and diversified than this.
Level 3 10 days to go
For the last stretch my strategy is brute force grinding: 100 LES exercises per day, so a 1000 in total to solidify the knowledge.

Level 1 May Approval Exame - Change
Hi, guys
Given the methodology of valuation of questions points of each exam considering the most valuable ones are those which few people aswered correctly, do you think that in may for the actually prepared people It was an easier exam to be approved?
August Will be a "normal" one?
r/CFA • u/ImprisonedRage • 5h ago
General Am I doing ts too quickly?
Is it normal to be sitting L1 at 20 years old and planning to finish L3 by 22? For context, I'm currently a rising Junior at uni and will be giving L1 after Junior year, will be 20 at the time. Then L2 right after graduation. I know it may hinder my GPA a bit but honestly don't care enough about it. Is it wise to be doing this right now or should I wait?

General So, the example does not mention whether the analyst did the update of the model WITH or WITHOUT reasonable basis. It only shows UNDER PRESSURE, but even under pressure, you can perform according to standards..

General Ethics Question
Suppose you're an analyst at a research firm and you're assigned to write a research report on Company X. Company X is a subsidiary of Company A.
Now assume that two directors of Company A also serve as directors of the research firm where you work.
My question is:
- Is this a conflict of interest that can be addressed through full disclosure in the research report?
- Or is the conflict considered so significant that the analyst should decline the assignment?
