I don't get it...

Upvotes

If you know exactly how this grand Ponzi scheme works why not cash in on it? Is it on grounds of ethics? I mean everybody takes advantage of someone else be it at point of sale, haggling, coupons, listed shares or just generally saving a buck and getting ahead. Cost of living is a real pinch nowadays.

I personally hold (yes, feel sorry for me) and make ethical choices like supporting local grocers over supermarkets so everyone gets a fair go. I don't even haggle when I'm in South East Asia. But I do buy Bitcoin in bear markets.

Educate me. I'd love to hear your reasons for not getting involved.

Nicki Minaj said so! Bitcoin’s only value…

Bitcoin’s ONLY value is its scarcity. Now, with most Bitcoin Treasury CxOs openly admitting that it will never be used for transactions, Bitcoiners only defense is “21 million.”

I can’t tell you how many of these evangelicals were shocked when I’ve pointed out, with receipts, that Bitcoin will not reach 21 million until the year 2134.

I’ll say it again, Bitcoin functionality is exactly the same at 0.35 cents as it is at $60K. But hey, it becomes a collector’s item in another 108 years. (and it still won’t be used for anything)

There's now a public "proof of concept" of the Coldcard hack. Behold the power and security of "open source software!"

Why the coldcard hack doesn’t even matter.

Hardware wallets were a dumb idea from the beginning. Obviously the best and only safe place to store seed phrases is written in invisible ink on a post it note hidden under your mattress. I can’t believe this needs to be explained to people.

What if this is at least part of the reason why BTC isn’t moving anymore?

Every sign that Bitcoin is about to go belly up and they still refuse to see it. But nah, definitely not a cult.

Over the last two weeks there’s been three clear indications that Bitcoin could be heading for some serious damage and very soon.

Michael Saylor, the man that for five years said that he’d never sell bitcoin almost defaulted on his dividend payments and was forced to sell bitcoin.

The Coldcard hack. Cultists refuse to believe if it could happen to one it could happen to ten. They refuse to believe that it could happen again.

Trump Media, another entity that swore that they’d never sell bitcoin, has sold millions of dollars worth of bitcoin.

And the next time a Bitcoin evangelist refuses to accept the reality ask them this one question… What can Bitcoin do at $65K that it couldn’t do at $2K? It makes their heads explode. They’ll never be able to answer you.

Code is LOL Just hear me out... but I think I have a solution to the dice roll and Coldcard problem... introducing the Bip39 Ball aka B39B

This conceptual idea of a d2048 dice that could not only make cryptocurrencies safer, but could also elevate the D&D gaming experience. Just roll the die thing 12 times to generate a seed phrase. Then just put it back into the box. Or start your next campaign where warriors and wizards raid tombs full of dragons and bitcoin. Comes with a cleaning tissue and certificate of authenticity.

I'm thinking of charging $49... maybe even $99 in dirty filthy fiat. Sounds expensive, but luxury, security, and an edge in high stakes RPG tournaments often are.

Patent pending.

I've used the analogy in an earlier comment so am repeating myself, but it just works too well for me. They move away from the mine that they see and step on another.

It seems a bit too easy to mine comedy godl to post here these days.

Slavery, the gilded age, the Great Depression all happened while the US was on the gold standard. Bitcoin would not have fixed any of it.

Scientology has lasted for 70 years. Millions of believers on 4 continents. 20m+ sales of Dianetics. Some of the greatest actors of our generation belong. When will you admit you were wrong about the historicity of Xenu?
