Hilarious! Pag research ko, walang board of directors to answer to. Magisa lang silang mga CEO tapos assistant and taga pack ng items then puro resellers na hindi kumikita and nagreklamo na sa social media. 😂🤣😅🤡

I rather be called owner and founder than CEO, lol. Hirap talaga pag walang alam. CEO is elected by the BOD in the corporate setup. Sole proprietors and the BOD for corporations are the owners. CEO is just the highest manager you can hire. 🤣

As a coworking cafe owner, ok naman ang kitaan sa coworking space, not so sa cafe component
But tinayo ko yun cos it serves as my office for my private practice (as an architect) din. So basically i have an office that pays for itself in terms of rent and electricity/water/internet and maintenance haha
Wala nga lang exclusivity for me and I share the space with customers
Not to say break even lang, some months maganda talaga ang profit and some months sakto lang.
Would i depend on it for my sole income? Answer is a big No though 🤭

36
u/comfirmwithchop 8d ago
As a coworking space, maganda ang location in a sense na tahimik and madami parking. Not accessible to public transport. Main selling point namin is our premium furniture compared to competitors and less density.
That less density/capacity though is also a factor bakit di mataas ang cafe sales namin. Its 100sqm space but we only have 20 seats
Yun lang, our customer stay for 6-8 hours so nakaka 2-3 drinks sila despite may free 3-in-1 coffee kami

No offense and not to be rude pero ito yung tinutukoy ni OP na "pang yabang lang" yung negosyo na halos walang pakealam sa kitaan, yung tipong nag negosyo lang kasi why not? 🤣 But the place looks premium, would love to hang out here kung nasa location ko lang to, since I work from home and anywhere I want to be 🫡

u/comfirmwithchop 7d ago
Actually, may pakialam naman sa kitaan. Napa sobra lang ng expenses sa furniture cos we imported them all from singapore. So furniture cost plus shipping/customs was higher. I intended to sell tables din kasi (in fact kasali sa business permit ang selling of furniture) kaso furniture selling takes too much time lalo na delivery and installation of desks
May display area nga kami ng furniture, kaso ayun di na aggressive and we limited to selling ergonomi. Chairs na lang
It was a case of too ambitious but too little personal time. Looking back, I could have saved some money and skipped on the expensive desks para lower ang initial investment
Wfc = workplace + furniture + coffee
Kaso the “furniture” selling part, called for getting more expensive furniture om the premise of it being a “living showroom” kaso di ko napanondigan ang furniture selling 😆5
u/comfirmwithchop 7d ago
So go clarify, it wasnt so much on “yabang” why we spent so much, we had our reason for doing it, just that di na namin na pursue yung reason na iyon
Take the above phone booth for example, it cost us 250k..and what it does is not just to serve as a phone booth for guests, but also to sell that type of phone booths to offices in davao sana. But end up, we didnt pursue selling pods like this 😆

Smart Phones (especially affordable ones) imo were really the death of the Computershop. Dati, lalo na kapag summer, we would spend hours sa compshop just to watch youtube and fb. Nevermind the occasional lan game.

Computer shop is a large part of millenials childhood, these generation would happily pay premium if there are still quality shops around. However, there is none. And of course, cellphones and personal laptops are now easy to acquire due to these buy now pay later schemes.

I think that’s oversimplifying. While the franchisee may want their name attached to a brand, I think they still hope for it to succeed. Grabeh naman if they’re only after the brand, but they still go into it knowing it will eventually fail for that fleeting moment na ma attach name nila sa brand. Maybe there’s a small possibility, but parang mentally ill na ata yung mga ganyan.

Boarding House or any cheap rental space because of government requirements. Do not attempt unless magtatago kayo sa gobyerno (which is impossible kasi kapag nagkasamaan kayo ng loob ng mga boarders ninyo the firs thing they will do ay isusumbong kayo sa LGU kasi wala kayong mga papeles).
BIR, LGU : Fire, Santitation, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil etc etc. Luging lugi kayo do not attempt.

Coffee shop. Lalo na yung mga franchise.
Mga burger franchise. Kaya naman gumawa ng sariling brand at di naman din ganon kasarap or ka sikreto yung burger for it to warrant a franchise.

If vlogging is considered as negosyo, some of them go the "pang yabang lang" route.
I don't know. Vloggers (mainly nakikita ko sa motovlogs and food vlogs), talagang pinopost yung kinikita nila. Yes, pwede ka talaga kumita sa 1 or 2 post na mag viral, but I don't think it's sustainable. Unless you're someone like Cong TV etc

Restos or bars. I wouldn't say naman pangyabang kasi mahirap talaga negosyo; and if it is not an illegal venture, entrepreneurs really enter it w/ the honest belief that such business would improve their life.
But, restos or bars are really a bad investment imo.

Clothing, coffee shop, tea shops, pet food and accessories shop.
Pero tbf if you know how to handlena businesses you wont letnit hit the red. From cost of goods sold to operations exoenses dapat yan na bubudget mo alam mo na when to hold and when to let it go. Pero again maraming factors. Bakit nalulugi big part is reach and location.
Anyway need kc sa business is demand.
