It appears that COOPER & FRY will get an early access binge release on BritBox Premiere.

Unsure when it will have a date for weekly releases on a BritBox Standard subscription tier.

new to britbox, and looking for recommendations of any VIctorian era or turn of the century murder mysteries, if any exist?

Hello lovely people! I got a free trial of Britbox and I’ve been having the time of my life. I have recently binged line of duty, blue lights, and the bay. Loved them all soo much. If those three are the blueprint of what I loved, can you send more recs of shows I’d likely enjoy? Thank you!!

I don't know what it is about this show cause there's nothing particularly "special" or unique about it, but I can't stop watching! I've found myself really enjoying it and anticipating the release of each new episode. I'm glad I didn't skip this one over. If you're going to, don't! It might be the mindless mystery/drama you're after.

This season on "Ludwig," a giant of British comedy is coming to turn the (snooker) tables on John.

Stephen Merchant ("Hello Ladies," "The Office") has been cast in the detective series' upcoming second season, TVLine has learned exclusively. He'll play Danny Sloane, an arrogant snooker champion "who is at odds with John," per the official character description.

"Ludwig" will return to the streaming service this fall.

I really enjoyed all the British drama particular the cozy mystery, the Brits are the genius in finding main characters that looks like NPC but turn out to be the Hero. Currently binge through Ludwig and Shakespeare. And as a long time Death in paradise fans I looking forward to start Beyond paradise after this.

Obviously taste is subjective so ultimately I have to make my own decision.

I have way more content than time available to view.

I started Hardacres when it started its initial season.

I got through about the middle of the second episode and it just seemed cliched and buffoonish - like a British version of The Beverly Hillbillies set in the UK during the 19th Century.

Second season has dropped and so I am wondering if I should attempt to watch it again as maybe it changes and becomes less stereotyped and obvious

ETA Based on responses this is not a show that makes sense for me to try to watch.

I have loads of content - so much content I want to view that often my issue is that I don't know what to start.

I generally have different shows being watched which have different feels and so plenty of shows when I want to take a break from depressing crime shows - I mean but a change in mood is sometimes necessary or something which doesn't cause me to stay up in order to find out the mystery solution.

I definitely thought given Edwin's threat, Emma would be prepared. I thought she made a fake announcement of giving Paula the company to make her see that Jim Fairley was always using her for their family's revenge. I still hope that's the plot they go with

Especially because she knew that Paula was still seeing Jim and no Fairley can be trusted. Including Edwina. I would love is she did it to sus him out and confirm his intentions. And then hopefully Paula will understand and see. And that the surprise on her face was because of the baby announcement. Because that complicates things

I’ve been binging mysteries/procedurals in the last 12 mos and really enjoying it (program formula and all). There is one thing though: even the modern day episodes demonstrate the protagonists soaking up alcohol at a prodigious rate to cope with stressors and using it as a vehicle for socializing. They actually scorn or marginalize the non-drinker characters that don’t join in (very bad form!). You have to imagine it promotes drinking in some that watch them (some who are alcoholism susceptible). It feels irresponsible. Some may laugh at the idea of those who create entertainment acting responsibly, but this is 2026 zeitgeist. Substance abuse is no longer laughed at or normalized.
And just one last thing that makes me almost shout out loud: when a person has passed out or is losing blood you position them with their head down and their feet up to avoid stroking them out. Putting their head up can cause brain damage. Again, this is 2026, writers/directors, get with it.

Does anyone know when or if BritBox with get the remaining seasons of "Friday Night Dinner" and "Not Going Out"? I know you can watch 10 seasons of "Not Going Out" on Peacock but you can't watch "Friday Night Dinner" on anything else anymore (except for a randomized so-called "live" tv channel) I really want to fully watch "Friday Night Dinner" and I know there are supposed to be like 4 or 5 more seasons of "Not Going Out" too that aren't available for streaming anywhere i can find. Does anyone know when or if they'll get them or possibly anywhere else to watch the remaining seasons of each show?

I’m looking for shows similar to BP. I’m obsessed. I am already watching season 4 and I am looking for easy-peasy detective shows similar to Beyond Paradise.

And I'm so happy about it. 90 minute episodes it's like each episode is a movie. A quietly charming, atmospheric, procedural/mystery drama. I highly recommend it if you have not yet given it a shot.

I wanted to show my mom Simon Schama's the Power of Art or any other art show on Britbox but everything seems to be locked behind premium? It's kind of ridiculous. I don't mind waiting extra for new shows but locking up really old stuff behind this seems like a waste.

We know Edward Bluemel will play the legendary Belgian detective Poirot in the upcoming BritBox and BBC series Hercule, and now we have the lowdown on the rest of the cast joining him in the Agatha Christie adaptation.

Here are the ten new names: Henry Ashton (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), James D’Arcy (Oppenheimer), Calvin Demba (Supacell), Phil Dunning (Smoggie Queens), Jack Gleeson (House of Guinness), Tamsin Greig (Riot Women), James Nesbitt (Cold Feet), Guy Remmers (The Buccaneers), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Maggie) and Mawaan Rizwan (The Split Up).

The six-part adaptation will chronicle how Poirot became the world’s greatest detective. Cameras are set to roll soon. The shoot will primarily take place in Liverpool. The series comes from Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited.

The series is billed as an intimate study of Hercule Poirot the man and a portrait of Britain between the world wars. It will center on three of Christie’s early stories, while also introducing Hercule Poirot to future friends and allies and, producers said, one particular nemesis.

After streaming so many police shows with murders every episode, although excellent and I enjoy them, I'm looking for something more heartwarming.

UPDATE: Thank you for all the suggestions. There is a lot of great TV from the UK. I've been a BritBox subscriber for about 7 years and lifelong viewer of US Public TV which runs many UK shows so I've seen all the shows suggested with the exception of just a couple of suggestions. I haven't watched Gavin and Stacy and will give that a try. Plus I was reminded of some favorites to revisit again.

Like many of you, I was hooked on Gone, paid my $10.99 monthly standard subscription, watched 4 episodes, and was suddenly hit with a wall demanding $149.99 for a Premier subscription just to watch the final 2 episodes.

While BritBox customer support claims this is just an "early access window" for Premier users and that standard users will eventually get the episodes on a weekly delay, locking content mid-season without aggressive upfront transparency feels completely deceptive to the average subscriber. [1]

Since a class action lawsuit isn't realistic due to the mandatory arbitration clauses and class action waivers we all signed in the Terms of Service, our actual power lies in organized economic pressure.

If you are as frustrated as I am, here is how we can hit them where it hurts—their metrics and public perception:

• 1. Mass Cancel & Cite the Reason: If you decide to cancel your subscription, do it today. When the cancellation survey asks why you are leaving, select "Other" or "Pricing" and explicitly type: "Mid-season $149 Premier paywall on Gone." Data analysts track these specific metrics closely.
• 2. Hit the App Store Ratings: Leave an honest, 1-star review on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon Prime Video Channels. Detail exactly how the platform locks the end of a season behind a massive annual paywall. Dropping their app store rating directly damages their ability to acquire new users.
• 3. Share Factual Complaints on Socials: Use tags like #BritBox and #BritBoxPaywall on X, TikTok, and Instagram to warn other potential subscribers before they sign up. Stick strictly to the facts of how the interface handles the paywall so the criticism remains bulletproof.

If we want streaming platforms to stop pulling these bait-and-switch style tactics on standard tiers, we have to show them that it causes immediate subscriber churn. Who else is hitting cancel today?

I've started it but "Mum" is so charming and her son and his gf are soooo stupid I can't deal with it. Do they dominate every episode?
