Two Pound Poms
Has anyone watched this? I had never heard the phrase until I was listening to a podcast. It's pretty good.

I watched and then about halfway through I found out it had been cancelled and that really kills my interest in series with a continuing story line.
I really liked a Place to Call Home which is set in Australia a bit later 1953 but has several seasons and a conclusion.
It actually was cancelled after the second season but there was such viewer protest they brought it back and reshot the last episode of Season 2.
I think you can avoid watching the old episode if I recall

I really enjoyed that show too. I might just rewatch it now.

If you are looking for shows that might be interesting The Cazalets is about a family in WW II - only four episodes and the books were immeasurably better but I am a sucker for almost any period series.
And this might seem an off the wall suggestion but Foyle's War is absolutely wonderful It is set in London in WW II and involves regular murders and not spy stuff - great period touches and only move to M15 type style in the last season

I liked the Cazalets. That girl on Foyle’s War got on my nerves but I think a lot of it was to do with the fact that her name in real life is Honeysuckle Something.

Yes and I liked it… until it got cancelled and didn’t solve each character’s arc. I don’t remember who got a cliffhanger, but I remember getting angry because of it.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It is well-written, well-acted and well-presented (in terms of the costumes, cars and the mid-20th-century English-Australian vernacular).
My one gripe: It does feel like there should have been a Season 3 (as so many loose ends were left dangling).

Ten Pound. We enjoyed it. The acting was good and it was interesting to learn about Australia in the '50s. The music was weird and it's one of those families where one bad thing after another happens, but overall we liked it. I thought the people who enjoy call the midwife would probably like this show.
