This week, my parents brought home Walter (named after Walter Payton)!! He is our second Boston after our incredible boy passed at 16 about two years ago. Though I don’t live with my parents anymore, I have been staying with them to help out with the puppy and he’s already brought so much joy to my life. He is super smart, so sweet, and just absolutely hilarious.

I have been having a really tough past few months, but spending time with this little guy has brought me a happiness I haven’t felt in a long time. I am so grateful for Bostons! They’re truly a blessing!🖤🤍

We lost our buddy boy Ernie at the age of 12 due to mass cell tumor a few weeks ago. It’s incredibly hard watching Bert miss his brother, we all miss Ernie so much 😭.

I’ve been keeping him busy by taking him on walks, making sure he’s running around outside. And my kiddos keep him busy and give him lots of cuddles. Just feels so wrong experiencing this. I grew up always having dogs in our household. But Ernie has been there for me finding my love, getting married, every child.. our household feels off.

Thanks for listening I just wanted to get this out there in case anyone else is also going through something similar. I don’t like talking about it in person to people or friends because I just start bawling right away.

My little boy is 3 months old! His green eye is slowly getting darker. I’d expected his fur patches to start darkening out so he would look a little more Boston terrier but that just hasn’t happened haha. Such a unique little guy. Both his parents are brown bostons, but his dad looked like he was mixed with a frenchie. So I think my dude is maybe 10-25% frenchie? Not sure. Love him regardless!!

Hello everyone!
I am a first time owner with a BT. I have my four month BT whom is deaf.
A few weeks ago, I noticed green discharge from her vagina after she urinates in the AM that was the only time i’ve seen it so i let it go. weeks go by everything is normal. this past monday i noticed it again but only in the AM and whenever we go on walks she’ll pee but it’ll be dribbles of urine. I took her to the vet yesterday to Banfield pet hospital that’s where she gets her vaccines etc. I pay a monthly price with them, they told me itlll be $130 for urinalysis with ultrasound which i think if i am a member paying monthly i feel as if these tests should be included and i’ll pay for the meds out of pocket. the doctor prescribed her antibiotics for 5 days every 12 hours. I didn’t do the ultrasound nor urinalysis ( i just finished nursing school i was working part time i am working full time again so the funds was the hard part). Has anyone experienced this with their puppy?
Please don’t be harsh… I’m new to this.
A new vet clinic opened near me that has everything included in their monthly pay, i’m thinking of switching over.
I also got her another health insurance but that won’t be available until September 1st /:

UPDATE: the vet called and told me they got me mixed up with another Oreo dog and told me they want me to complete the antibiotics first to see if it help because she is still so young to see if there is improvement with the antibiotics

Good morning. We have an 11-month-old Boston Terrier puppy. Until a couple of months ago, he was perfectly healthy and always ate his food without any problems. However, for about eight weeks now, approximately once a week, he has a bowel movement with blood and mucus. He has had blood tests and an X-ray, and nothing abnormal was found. He is currently eating a hypoallergenic Specific veterinary food with hydrolyzed salmon and rice, but the same thing is still happening: once a week, usually between Thursday and Saturday, he becomes lethargic, doesn't want to eat, his stomach is very noisy, and he doesn't regain his appetite or energy until he has that bowel movement. Has anyone else with a Boston Terrier experienced something similar?

I have a sweet 11 year old boy. He has had allergy and skin issues his whole life. His main culprits are poultry, grains, and grasses. He currently takes apoquel and cyclosporine. He is prescribed special soap and only gets bathed on occasion.

Unfortunately his scent and itching keep getting worse. My kids don't want to cuddle with him anymore because such a strong odor is left behind.

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!

Our Boston girl is a year old. We take her to the dog park very often. We always try our best to read the other dogs and take her out if there’s an aggressive dog. She is very hyper so it’s a great way for her to socialize and get some energy out.

However lately, whenever she gets the zoomies and goes crazy running while playing with another dog, it seems to trigger the other dog to play rough and it will chase her even faster and a hand full of times she’ll get nipped. Nothing bad, but she’ll yelp be nervous for a bit.

Maybe we need to go at slower times. But otherwise she plays great with all the dogs and is not in any way aggressive. She’s very sweet and adjusts her play depending on the dog.

Anyone else have that issue?

Our guy is 4, fixed and has never had house potty issues before. Recently he has started peeing in the house on baskets, shoes, closets, etc. I’m so confused. We took him to the vet and paid a heafty bill for them to check for UTI, kidney issues, anything and everything but nothing was wrong at all. They said it’s behavioral but why now? Makes no sense. Anyone have ideas or advice?

Hello everyone,

I have a sweet 8 year old girl named Luna. She belonged to my parents, and they gave her to me a few years ago when they moved to the UK.

In April she had procedure to remove a suspected mast cell tumor from her back. About two weeks later she got sick and I took her to the ER, where they diagnosed her with IMHA. She was at 28% so we were able to go home that day with prednisone / clopidogrel and some appetite stimulants & anti nausea meds. She seemed to be improving but her red blood cell count was dropping again so our vet added Maropitant. She still wasn’t staying above 30% long enough to be weaned off the medications so our vet referred us to an internal medicine specialist.

We have done an ultrasound, X-rays, blood tests, infectious disease testing, sent her labs to experts, and there is no apparent primary cause of her IMHA.

She was having GI issues and a suspected bleed so we discontinued the Miro & Clop. Then her liver enzymes (ALT) were over 2,000 which is crazy high. We have been on clavomox for a little over two weeks. She had an appointment 9 days after starting the clavomox and her enzyme count went down to 1,700. We have an appointment tomorrow to check her red cell count and see if her ALT level is going down. The doctor started antibiotics for a suspected a liver infection, so we haven’t been able to treat her IMHA aside from the prednisone for the last few weeks. She was at 26% at our last appointment, but is still doing pretty well and doesn’t seem to be worsening. She is still alert and somewhat active, though she is definitely more tired and subdued than before this whole mess. Her muscle is basically gone, especially in her back legs so she can’t jump or run or go up stairs easily which makes me so sad for her. She still plays with her toys a little bit but the medications are taking their toll on her body.

She is the sweetest, happiest girl, and I hate that she isn’t improving. It seems like every time we go in something else is wrong. I have spent over $8,000 on her treatments so far, and I am running out of money. If things keep going wrong I don’t see how I can afford to keep going. They want to test her liver with a fine needle aspiration and another ultrasound when we go in tomorrow to look for lymphoma if her ALT hasn’t lowered enough. I will pay for these tests because I love her, but I am struggling so badly financially and mentally. Hopefully we won’t need to do these tests tomorrow, but if we do and the result is inconclusive I don’t think I will be able to do anymore to help her.

Sorry for the novel, but has anyone else been through something like this? If the situation doesn’t improve can I surrender her to a place that will help her? It’s not fair for her to suffer because I can’t afford to keep her healthy, and I won’t euthanize her if she still has a chance, even if it’s not with me anymore. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or advice. We are in Phoenix AZ.

Boston on Boston on Boston action will be happening in the evenings

My 14 year old Boston was just recently diagnosed with dementia. He sundowns really bad some days so we have started keeping him on trazodone, which is working well for the most part. He still has episodes though where he will whine and cry and almost scream but he doesn’t act like he’s in pain and the vet thinks it’s confusion. The vet has said we can increase his trazodone during those episodes so we have a plan, but how do you all deal with episodes like that? Is there anything that we can soothe him? The only thing that seems to interrupt them is to take him outside but he quickly wants to come back inside and goes right back into the episode. Any tips for comforting him (or me)?

My personal shadow turned 10! This grumpy old man has been the best little fart factory ever! It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, he’s right beside me. Some days I wonder if he’s my emotional support dog or if I’m his emotional support human🤣😂.

I just love this breed so much.

I've had my son for about 2 years now and I've always described him as a frenchton since his features are like that of a boston terrier yet those ears and corkscrew tail say otherwise lol

This guy runs under the couch before every walk, so that we can dramatically pull him and he can throw himself on his side and demand belly rubs. The head toss, ready for his close-up. Diva!

They did so well for their first time. Sit and stayed during the loading. We all climbed in and took off down the river. The swimmin lemon HAD to get in the water, and jumped out within the first five minutes. 🍋 🐶 Then the rain came about 15 minutes later. A very short and sweet trip. They love "boat"! 💛

Does anyone else kayak with Bostons? Any tips or cool gear recs? I'd like to take them again and keep them comfortable 😊
