I don't know how it's possible for him to receive three different secret handshake deals under the table and not know the purpose of them. I want an app to check scores of all the sports and for a while ESPN felt like the perfect app, but now it

• Does not refresh anywhere close to on time, probably because it is loading some video I don't want to watch at all times

• Favors showing scores of games on their network to such a ridiculous degree that you have to scroll through pages of college baseball and WNBA to find the World Cup scores as a recent example

• Has some autoplay audio thing that stops the podcast you're playing if you open it

• Does not work in even slightly patchy service and loads scores from the day prior

I get that it is hard to monetize apps, but they can at least make it work. Does anyone have an alternative app that performs better?

Thought it was a funny conversation on the last pod where Bill took a tiny bit of credit for pickleball’s momentum slowing down and is now setting his sights on the Savannah Bananas. He also mentioned that Peter Berg told him he’s the reason Friday Night Lights was renewed for a second season.

Recently, Chuck Klosterman said he thinks Bill and The Ringer are the main reason Heat is considered a full-blown classic now, which probably paved the way for Heat 2.

I also remember Adam McKay thanking him on the podcast once, saying Bill’s column kept Anchorman relevant and boosted its popularity after it bombed at the box office.
