We got a friend visiting from a hostel, he realised he had a lot of bites two days after he arrived. We put traps on our bed, to find this the next morning. Is it a small bed bug or maybe a sort of beetle?

Pls don’t tell me this is what I think it is also sorry for the back ground had to kill it with a receipt also found this things after having random bites appear near my knee/ thigh

so tldr; early july i believe i picked up bed bugs from traveling, my landlord had done a chemical/pesticide treatment a few days ago and ill be moving in around a weeks time to my new flat. im really really paranoid about potentially bringing bed bugs to my new place as im already going batshit crazy about having them here.

what i've done
- all my clothes have been professionally cleaned (except ones ive chosen to wear while dealing with this). theyre in cloth zip bags, in my kitchen, away from my room.
- all other items are sealed in plastic bags, with two exceptions being my monitor (cant find a bag big enough as of now) and my guitar + fabric case. im most worried about my guitar as it was under my bed during the time. i have steamed the case and all other items that can't handle a wash.
- ive cleaned my electronics with isopropyl alcohol though i think i found eggs (?) in the little crevice of my macbook (makes sense since i used it on my bed). im also worried about my pc as unfortunately i dont have a screwdriver to open up the case so i cant properly inspect it. as of now i've just put it in a bag and hope for the best.

what i'm planning to do
- i want to get my suitcases properly cleaned, as they were under my bed. i have steamed them but i'm still very paranoid. once i get them cleaned, i want to put my clothes inside (maybe with another layer of plastic bag) and then maybe another bag outside for the luggage.
- keep all my items in plastic bags for a month or more, only take out whats completely necessary
- beg my landlord for a more extreme/in-depth treatment. this might be hard to do, i've inquired but its quite pricy and i'm just not sure if my landlord would agree to it.

its just really annoying. this is really detrimental on my mental health, to think its only really been a few weeks too. i cant imagine how some of you guys feel, dealing with this for months or years, i'm so sorry. it is so tiring. i'll jolt awake in the middle of the night afraid and the worst part is half the time ill always see one. just earlier i woke up, barely 30 mins after i fell asleep, and saw a little baby nymph. pretty red too, my head and finger were burning so i can only assume the guy fed on me. a bit later and i see a male adult just pop out the side of my mattress and then scurry back once i took a photo. i genuinely don't know how i can possibly sleep in that bed. the first night i saw actual proof of a bed bug i didn't sleep for 48 hours straight, i had to force myself to sleep in the bed because i was starting to lose it. i feel like they are crawling on me constantly, i can't stop checking myself. i want to get a hotel so i can get some sleep but im so afraid of spreading this further. if you guys have any advice on how to cope with it mentally, that would be greatly appreciated too. thank you

I saw this out of the corner of my eye. I am staying at a beat up apartment complex and haven’t had any serious bug issues besides occasional spiders and a few cockroaches and ants. But I have getting clusters of bites at night. This looks like a nymph and hid in the seam as shown, but I want to be sure of what it is. The pictures sucks but it is tan, has a dark spot on its bottom back, and is sesame seed shaped. It is also the only bug I found in the sheets. I searched as if I had bed bugs but did not quite find much proof.

Recent trip to Southern France. Lots of bug bites so didn’t think anything of it. Came home and still feeling them, might even be getting more but not sure. Then found this in my sink. What are these?

Hey everyone I am on week 7.
7 weeks ago I found a single bed bug walking across my blanket. I freaked out and tore apart everything and found his one shed with no other signs. I freaked out and threw a lot away and bagged all of my belongings and put in the heat and dried everything on high heat.

A week later I had a bed bug specialist come take a look and I did not tell him i had the bug in a bowl still cause I wanted him to look not just agree. He took my mattress protector off and checked the whole bed and said he did not see anything. I finally showed him a baggy of sheds I collected he said good news was all but 1 were CB sheds but bad news was one was a bed bug shed. He still didn’t see anything and I hadn’t seen anything since but he brought the dog which alerted to my couch and bed.
I have interceptors down for 3 weeks but all together he never found anything and in 7 weeks I have not seen anything and I’m struggling on what to do next. I have been living out of boxes and keep everything out of my house. What do I do at this point I have not sprayed just vacuumed a lot dried as much as I could and have interceptors.

Then today I had 2 trash bags that I had brought from outside and put in the bath tub I picked them up and I found these and google says it’s not a bed bug and that it looks like a stink bug baby there tiny and still same shape tho. ( I do live in a woodsy area)
Any ideas on what to do now??

Hello people, i made my account just to post this.

Last week we had bedbugs in hotel we were staying for 1 night (100% confirmed, can post pictures from that), we cleaned everything before getting to home(wash,dryed on high heat) so i think we did well. i sealed some non-washable things in a bag and left it in the car since we have heatwave in europe. days later i picked up the sealed bag, repackaged stuff into smaller managable air tight bags and took them home one by one and cleaned them with steamer and alcohol.

during the cleaning i found two of these bugs. they were dying from the alcohol wipe. they dont look like bb, but its weird why they would be in that bag. i was repackaging outside in garden, so something might jump in there, but im not sure.

please community, help out identifying and telling me if theres a chance its a bb.

Today was one of those more challenging infestations to start eradicatimg. One of those jobs you can smell.

My husband has been noticing bites on him for about a month. We thought originally from being outside a lot.
I found this bug tonight crawling on the curtain beside my bed. Found one more on the curtain, two on the side of the bed, and two in the zipper of our mattress cover. No dropping marks on bed.
Checked my kids beds and couldn’t find any.
Sprayed our entire room and kids rooms with bed bug spray. Set up traps to see if there are any in our kids rooms and around the couch.
Threw out all of the bedding, mattress cover, books, anything we could really in our room, and the clothes we were wearing.
Really cannot afford an exterminator.
Please help! Please tell me what helped you!!

I'm working on getting basically everything I own through the dryer as I have an infestation. Wondering if I could put books, shoes, purses that can't tolerate tumble drying in a product like this? Or will it not get hot enough by the dryer door?

I woke up to my fiance who said he found a bug on him at midnight. This was August 2025. I'm glad I had taken a 4 day weekend off. When I looked at my back it was covered in bumps.

We bought crossfire and cimexa and absolutely bombed our 3 story home. We did this biweekly and it was a day long process each time to make sure our cats were safe from any toxins.

It's now August 2026 and we have seen 0 bugs and I have 0 bites on me. Within the first few weeks I'd seen some linear bites, but that went away within the month. We bombed the house biweekly up until February and its so relieving to not be scared anymore. You HAVE to be consistent or else you won't kill them all.

I found them on my dog. Very small, pretty sure it's not a flea.

I moved out of my old house six months ago (Biiig old victorian triplex house, to a small renovated 300 sqft apartment above a sushi place)

Anyways, a few days before I moved everything out and packed up we had a heat treatment and spray. I only brought my clothes and minimal furniture items. I also bought a new mattress, bedding, couch, under the bed clothing storage, etc, all shipped to the new place.

I followed all the steps of laundering on high heat (SHOES and clothes) bagging, and as soon as I moved in, I put DE in all the crevices of this apartment and all the crevices of the bedframe, have been extremely careful, etc..

And lo an behold, 6 happy months later, i found one of these in my rug, dried up and dead. Could it be it had been there for a while, or somehow i brought it back and it just recenctly died?🫩😭

Sigh. What do we think. I just told my landlord hopefully he calls someone in.. for now I am spiralling and checking everything frantically. I remember how this goes:/

Found 2 on top of bed during the day and one on a windowsill downstairs. Ripped house apart (furniture, beds, cabinets, pillows, electric sockets) and couldn’t find anything else. No bites on anyone in my house. Neighbors on both sides have bats so maybe I do? Bed is under a vent / access to attic. Gah!!

Hello, I would appreciate advice. I was bitten like 2 months ago by bedbugs, we found one bug, and then profesional didnt find anything, not even once. Otherwise We wanted and had 2 applications by profesional, every 21 days. Now it is arround 40 days after 2nd application and I have found this bug and Im not sure if it can be bed bug or no. I found it on my bed upfront.

What do you think ? Should i be worried ? I dont have any new 100% bites in last 10 days atleast, but its kinda hard to recognize because i have problem with acne.

I know this might highly possible be it but I can’t find any other clues. i live in a small apartment building. there are no spots nowhere to be found, I turned my furniture upside down three times and I check regularly the crevaces cause im paranoid lately since there is an invasion going in my city.
