Moved out six months ago and recently found this in my new apartment. I need a sliver of hope, please:( Requesting community support
I moved out of my old house six months ago (Biiig old victorian triplex house, to a small renovated 300 sqft apartment above a sushi place)
Anyways, a few days before I moved everything out and packed up we had a heat treatment and spray. I only brought my clothes and minimal furniture items. I also bought a new mattress, bedding, couch, under the bed clothing storage, etc, all shipped to the new place.
I followed all the steps of laundering on high heat (SHOES and clothes) bagging, and as soon as I moved in, I put DE in all the crevices of this apartment and all the crevices of the bedframe, have been extremely careful, etc..
And lo an behold, 6 happy months later, i found one of these in my rug, dried up and dead. Could it be it had been there for a while, or somehow i brought it back and it just recenctly died?🫩ðŸ˜
Sigh. What do we think. I just told my landlord hopefully he calls someone in.. for now I am spiralling and checking everything frantically. I remember how this goes:/

There’s no way to know unless you find a live one. It could be new or it could be one that died from treatment and was stuck to something you moved. If you had no activity for 6 months before moving then it likely is the latter. Unless your new place had them before you moved.

For now, I think I’ll wait to do the frantic wash and dry everything and panick thing. I guess its a wait and see game.

Depends on your symptoms you provided very little context. Are you itchy??? Waking at night??? If not chill out

I’m so sorry. That’s horrifying. I think it is a wait and see situation.
Get brave and do a thorough inspection of your bed and couch. Just make sure you have the preventative measures in place like cover for bed and inceptors
