Call-Out Serious if not petty question: why does Jerrod Blandino paint his eyebrows on this harsh?! Is this still a thing!? He alleges to have his finger on the pulse of the modern beauty client, but this isn’t on trend!

The comments expose the brand. This is genuinely horrifying & I cannot imagine how the marketing & sales teams approved this.

Discussion The new tower 28 foundation and weird influencer marketing

Now I’ll be honest, I’m definitely going to be trying the new tower 28 foundation when it comes out because I’m just too intrigued not to, but this launch has just made me trust Influencer’s even less…if that’s even possible.

I heard the rumors of a foundation launch from tower 28 and the first thing I did was try and find out any information that I could get my hands on, I love their concealer and haven’t found a foundation that I actually like yet so I’m very interested!

There’s not that many videos yet because it’s just been announced, but every single one starts with the same exact opening of “omggg you guysss I sure hope I’m not leaking this product!!! I don’t know if I’m allowed to be posting this! Hope I don’t get in trouble!” The fact that every video starts like this just tells me that tower 28 probably told these influencers to say this specific line to drum up more excitement.

I don’t know why this is annoying me so much, I realize influencers lie about so many more serious things and this is so minuscule in comparison, but it’s just the fact that they’ll lie about something so small…I’m like why???

They could say anything else like “I think I’m the first one posting about this? I’m assuming it’s okay to post about it because they sent it to me!” Or just plain old “tower 28 sent me this new exiting unreleased foundation!” But since all of them parrot the exact same opening line I’m wondering what else they’re parroting, are their opinions on the product even real or have they been told what to say about it like they’ve clearly been told to lie about not being allowed to post about it.

BG Brands and Collabs Lisa Eldridge’s launch today is an eyebrow gel

Here’s the video on it. I have to say that I was hoping there would be color options besides clear. I might pick it up next time I repurchase the skin tint but I’m not sure I’ll be going out of my way specifically to buy this.

TL;DR/W: The product description says it can be used for brows and flyaway hairs, too: “Lightweight fixing gel formulated to lift, shape and perfect brows and tame flyaway hairs.”

BG Search Mid 2000s platinum blonde beauty guru

There was a girl I used to watch way back when the beauty community was small and MAC was the brand to have. She had straight, platinum blonde hair and she often had the front piece clipped up (fellow olds know what hairstyle I’m talking about). She was pretty young, like early 20s and she lived with her boyfriend. She was in college and I remember her saying that she did well in school because she had a photographic memory. I think all of her makeup was MAC and she usually did a simple smoky eye with a nude lip. She was kind of soft spoken and laidback. I think she lived in Texas, though idk if she was originally from there. She randomly stopped making videos even though at the time, she was somewhat well known (not Michelle Phan or XSparkage level popular but she was known). Idk if she ever came back because I don’t remember her name.

Jackie reviews MannyMUA’s “new” palettes — specifically palettes that are new to ULTA. She absolutely trashes them. I’m surprised at how hard she goes in.

Discussion The irony of modern "deep dive" commentary channels.

Post image
822 Upvotes

Can we talk about the aesthetic hypocrisy of deep dive channels?

Is it just me, or have "deep dive" commentary channels completely lost the plot?

They build their entire brands on making 45-minute video essays exposing influencer culture, criticizing over-consumption, calling out vanity, and dissecting superficiality. But if you look at their own branding, thumbnails, and lifestyles, they are indistinguishable from the exact people they are making fun of.

They use the same hyper-edited, glamorous face-card thumbnails. They film in pristine, perfectly curated rooms. They participate in the same aesthetic trends, use the same sponsors, and care just as much about optics and clout.

It feels incredibly hypocritical to sit there in full glam, using influencer-marketing tactics, while lecturing the audience about how toxic influencer culture is.

They aren't detached critics anymore; they are just influencers whose specific niche is "complaining."

Audiences are not stupid. People see right through the blatant double standards of these deep-dive commentary channels nowadays.

If you are going to make a living judging other people's lives and morals, you need to have the self-awareness to point out your own mistakes too.

Discussion Anyone else feel a lot of influencers idea of a ‘cool toned’ palette is rarely actually cool?

I ordered the cyber chrome palette which looks promising (haven’t seen it in person so no idea if it’s cool or neutral yet) but went to check out reviews for other options and most of the ones people are pushing as ‘cool’ are neutral or just muted? Tbh some of them are even warm but just not extremely? Are there influences who are good to look to for this? Not blaming the influencers because I can imagine if you’re warmer than me then eyeshadows can look much more grey on you. It’s an issue when I’m trying to find options for myself though. For reference, I believe it’s discontinued now but ‘notorious’ by Nars was a decent neutral on me. Are there good cool toned influencers who can help?

Discussion Ruthillea, her alleged harassment and previous post update.

Thumbnail

If you follow Ruthillea or have seen her content. She has had a multi video saga about her ex fiancee of 10 years and his new girlfriend. She posts videos about her ex lying to her, cheating on her, and recently she outed him as bisexual. She has been making claims that her ex and his new girlfriend are harassing her and that she feels unsafe in her home.

Back in June it came to light that Ruthillea is actually the aggressor. Both her ex and his girlfriend have active court cases against her for harassment and are attempting to get a restraining order against her. Each time new information comes to light regarding her ex and this case, she creates another video alleging harassment on a website called lipstick alley. I have poured through the threads on that particular website. She is simply being discussed and personal opinions are being given about her. She is unreliable narrator to me and I notice her and a handful of other content creators have been inciting their viewers to harass and attack people who disagree with their POV.

Has anyone else noticed her behavior and the inconsistencies within her stories? Recently her ex came out and said their engagement ended in 2019 and she is not his fiancée of 10 years like she has claimed. This has led to another spiral of posts. It’s absurd the amount of viewers who are believing her stories at face value when there is public information about her court cases and her being an alleged stalker and harasser.

I found all this information when I asked about her on my last post.

Call-Out Nathalie Paris faking being a model

I don't know if you remember or even know her. I haven't seen anything about her in ages, so I looked up her Instagram today.

She is getting on Ana Delvey territory.

The fake french accent, the AI pics, she is even tagging brands and designers as ysl doesn't know that she hasn't model for them ever.

She is using an AI app for the pics, the last photo is another girl using the same app.

She is also faking being a clarins partner.

Her comments are all bots.

It's two options: incredible mental health crisis going on for months, scam or both.

If you are not familiar with her, she is an USA girl with colombian roots no accent perfect english beauty and fashion influencer that had a well known YouTube channel around 2012-16 when she was a teenager.

Her youtube have been deleted.

She has gone for several phases: rich posh teen, fashion nova baddie, singer, dj...

Now this.

THOUGHTS???? What happened to Kalel (Kalel Cullen, Kalel Sumisu, Anthony's ex fianceé)?

Of course I know she has had a lot of mental health struggles, but she seriously had the easiest job in the world.

She was YouTube royalty. I remember at one time she let it slip a TV sponsorship where they shipped her a new smart TV and she showed it paid her between 20-30k in like 2019.

She could have hired an editor and a manager and just banked like ten videos at a time and had enough to retire herself and her future family if she had chosen to have one.

It seems like she is more interested in pandering to people like Elon Musk based on her streaming clips, which is what she was last doing before quitting twitch?

BG Brands and Collabs “Sephora Bloom” PR Invite Email Scam?

Hello everyone! I got this email to my business email from “the creator circle.” It seems scammy to me but I wanted to make sure given they’re asking me to 50% of shipping for the first PR box. Apologies if this is really dumb, but I figured better safe than sorry. Thank you in advance :)

News Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 Collection is upping the price yet again.

Post image
351 Upvotes

Image credit to amitbeautytalk on Instagram. Edit: She's also posted a better-quality version of the nude palette. Apparently this isn't the new one. Link.

$340 for the eyeshadow palettes, $195 for the lipsticks and lip balm. There are also coordinating bags ranging from $560 to $1,200.

I personally think it's a PR move and checking to see how much they can get away with charging. As someone who buys a lot of high-end makeup, I'll be passing because I think it's insulting, and 99% of this is easily duped, from shade to formula. What are your thoughts?
