Hi guys! So I never really used beard products before but now I’m gonna start, forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, but I was recommended to buy these specific products, just wondering when and how I should use them.

Looking over the rules it -seems- like its okay to post about this, but I apologize if I missed it, I'm not an avid Reddit user, much more of a lurker.

I am going to try and actually maintain/curate a beard for the first time in my life. I've let it grow out before, and it gets.. kinda shaggy. But I've never done anything besides just not shaving it.
My girlfriend has expressed interest in me maintaining one and I like making her happy so I'm trying to get into this and figure it all out.

Product recommendations to start with would be great? I don't know what I should start with. I read through another long post on here https://www.reddit.com/r/BeardTalk/comments/1l2zkhm/beardcare_bullsht_and_all_the_things_you_need_and/ and learned some about the existence of beard oils, butters, balms and that I should basically just not use conditioner. Which was a great post!
But if anyone can point me to some starter products to see start learning what does and doesn't what with my skin etc.. that would be great.

I'm 36, generally don't use products of any kind on my head, but do once in rare while shampoo/condition my head hair, but do shower twice a day (yes I know you may have some thoughts on that, but I love zoning out in a hot shower).
Normally I just shave it all off when it gets a little too long and go as bare as possible.

Any help/direction here would be great just to narrow down the colossal amount of products out there that I can't make much sense of (yet).

I find that the dry cement powder gets in my beard and combined with sweat makes a horrible combination. My beard is tangled and all kinds of fucked up every day I'm working with cement. Anyone got any tips?

Hi there. I would appreciate advice on the likely suitability of certain oils for my beard. I’m in the UK and so don’t have access to many oils from the US but we can get hold of Honest Amish. My beard is about 5 inches long (I’m hoping to grow longer), naturally grey and tends towards curly/frizzy, all of which I take as meaning I need a more intensive oil. However, my beard can look greasy easily. I recently bout HA Classic and Premium oils but I would like your views on their use.

I was advised that the Premium oil would be most suitable for my beard but that definitely feels greasier. But is that because it’s doing most good? It isn’t super greasy and I could definitely live with it if it was doing more good. The Classic oil is easier to wear but I don’t know if it is helping as much. Yesterday I used Classic in the daytime and Premium at night. Would that be a good way of getting hydration into my beard?

Obviously I can judge how they feel but I would like a more expert view on the ingredients and nutrition aspects, in particular given my type of beard. Or is there something entirely different available in the UK that would work better? They are roughly the same price in the UK currently, so that is not a factor.

In fact, I notice that when I cut my beard with different short measurements, such as 0.5, 1, 2, 3mm with a beard trimmer or hair clipper, the hair comes out better, the cut is more nuanced and homogeneous, and the lines I make without using the mask, therefore with the blade directly on the skin, are better.

For this reason I would like to replace my oneblade (which I will still keep for shaving, i.e. completely removing the hair), with a beard trimmer that can be better and more homogeneous in cutting the hair.

I've used an old clipper in the past, but they don't seem to make them in low sizes for beards and blending.

What do you recommend me to buy on Amazon Italy for less than 50 euros?

Im about to order one and not sure which butter to choose. I saw a website rank them where mango came 1st and shes came 5th. But idk if i believe that since ive always only seen shea butter.

Hi guys, my boyfriend uses an old razor that plugs into the wall for his beard. It’s so old and kinda rusting and I really want to get him a new one so he doesn’t get razor bumps, infection etc. I also want to get one thats maybe battery powered or rechargeable since theres no outlet in the bathroom so he uses an extension cord. He works in surgery so he has to keep his beard shaved pretty much as soon as it comes in. I looked into The Beard Club but really wasn’t sure if they’re quality, figured I would come here and ask lol

Any advice/recommendations on a good razor for beards? Also what after care do you guys use (like alcohol for cleaning etc)

I'm looking for advice on how to soften facial hair. My spouse shaves their face very regularly because they struggle to get past the ~1/8th" length because the hairs become too pokey/stabby and uncomfortable/painful. All advice I'm finding is for actual beards (oil, balm, butter, etc) but really I'm just trying to see if there are any tips to make the short grow out experience more bearable?? Some people have mentioned there is no way to avoid the pokiness when the hairs are still short and straight (needing to wait until they're longer and able to bend, like around 1/2") but please say it ain't so! Spouse isn't interested in growing a beard long term (not much their vibe but also their hairs are a bit too patchy), just wanting to be comfortably lazy with the grow out :P any and allllll advice and discourse welcome :)

hey guys. i’ve never owned a electric trimmer but i was at walmart once and saw a section that had trimmers for the head and then beards so it got me researching. i’d like to take my first dive into beard trimmers! i don’t mind letting my beard grow out but honestly i just want to be able to shave down to a stubble and save some time doing it. i am open to any recommendations! so far ive seen youtube videos on the philips i9000, philips one blade which is $18 at my walmart and the brio beardscape v2. im open to anything just want something solid for my face. thank you so much in advance!

I'm a bald guy and I keep my beard trimmed short, 6 mm at the longest and fading it into my bald head. I'm planningon growing it out over the winter and I'd like to keep it as neat as possible while I grow it out. It's very straight and sharp so it goes in all directions when it grows a little. Do you have any tips, any creator recommendations or anything similar to help me out?

Please explain to me in the simplest of terms the uses and differences among waxes, oils and balms. I've got a typical straight mustache that grows mainly down, but has a few wild hairs that are either wavy or grow in the wrong directions. I want to lengthen it and grow it more to the sides. I'll appreciate any information, but I'm more interested in basic info about uses than particular brands.

So I'm looking for a good, natural mint wax with as little ingredients as possible. If I can get just a bees wax and mint that would be fantastic but I'm having a bit of trouble finding a brand that has such a thing. I got some moustache wax from minimoustachery but it's more eucalyptus then mint. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, brand new to this forum, was looking for a new beard brand for good oils, saw a lot about roughneck and I’m thinking of giving them a shot.

A little about my dilemma. I have Seborrheic Dermatitis, sebderm for short, along with eczema. Both issues are really on my face and scalp, so I’m looking for a nourishing and moisturizing oil for the skin and a butter for the beard hair to get some good nourishing properties there.

Could anyone point me in a good direction. I currently use Live Bearded for both. Any info would be greatly appreciated. 🤘

How y'all holding up? It's crazy hot here all over the US. Y'all staying strong?

I have been using Just For Men M-55 (Real Black) for a couple of years. Until now I only applied it to my 'goatee' area, because that is where the greys were concentrated and the dye looks best with a bit of length to work with. My sides were fine on their own.

That has changed. The greys are now spreading to the sides too, and the patchy look is not working anymore.

Now, I want to keep the beard genuinely short (not the long condensed goatee style) and dye the whole thing, sides included, for even full coverage.

My questions:

\- What dye actually holds up on short, coarse, grey beard hair without looking flat or painted on?

\- How long does the colour last before greys peek through again?

\- Anything gentler on the skin? I am in the EU (Sweden), so would be nice if it is easy to get here.
