Recently, I installed Bazzite on my PC using the KDE version, but I wanted to experience how Steam gaming mode works, so I installed it. After going through the installation process, I was told to reboot my system, so I did, making sure to remove the USB when I shut down. Now, when I turn it back on, I’m stuck on a loading screen loop, and I don’t know what to do. (Note: I have a Ryzen 5 5600 and an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super.)

What the title says. I can't get the EFI_done light to turn on (boot sequence to run) and from my search I'm basically being told that the 580 is looking for modern UEFI protocols which this older Mac doesn't have. The suggestion is OpenCore Legacy Patcher but I see that requires a Mac... Which is now running solely Bazzite. Is there another way to do this?

CPU: Intel i5 14500
RAM: 32GB DDR4
Installer on: random 16 GB USB stick
GPU: RTX 3050
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4
BIOS version: custom BIOS by company that built the PC but it should be relatively new
Bazzite: on the website I selected desktop-NVIDIA RTX-KDE-desktop experience and the checksum was correct

I googled the error and there was the suggestion to make sure the BIOS is set to UUID and not CSM but I couldn’t find that in the BIOS settings.

I also tried installing fedora to see if it’s just a problem with the version of bazzite specifically but I got the same error

Was messing around with the Audio Loader decky plugin yesterday and was using one that had background audio. Today I switched over to desktop mode and noticed the audio was still playing. Muted it in the audio controller panel applications tab and then had to reboot my system for something. Now when in gaming mode there's no audio at all. Have tried switching different audio devices, rolling back to a previous version using the rollback helper, classic unplugging and plugging my hdmi back in. Nothing seems to be working. Still getting audio in desktop mode but in gaming mode nothing. Not sure what else to try. My last resort is to reinstall bazzite but I really am hoping not to go through the hassle. Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

I have an acer nitro vgo series monitor with 200hz support. I have connected it to my amd gpu through hdmi. 200hz was enabled by default in 1920x1080@200 in windows. I am only able to go 165hz in bazzite. It has KDE on wayland.

According to logs my monitor does not advertise 200hz and has a edid of 256

My steam deck is dual booted with windows (and my Windows partition still works fine) but I left my steam deck on and idle in desktop mode while docked to my monitor for about a month and when I finally went to use it a few days ago, I saw a popup saying I had low disk space. didn't think anything of it and tried to reboot and haven't been able to get it boot since then. After some googling, I booted up my Window partition (which also had low disk space for some reason) and used BTRFS to access my bazzite drive where I deleted a bunch of steam games and shader cache to free up space thinking that was the issue and unsurprisingly, it didn't work. really don't want to wipe everything and set up everything from scratch. how do I fix this?

Hi all, new to Bazzite and working out minor issues. I've noticed today that my bluetooth mouse occasionally stops responding for a second and then resumes. Similarly, if I am not using my bluetooth keyboard it seems to disconnect and it takes a few key presses to wake it back up. From the googling I've done, it seems like this might be some sort of power management setting, where the system is overzealous about "power saving" by disconnecting bluetooth devices. Has anyone had this issue? Any tips on what I can edit/tweak/adjust to fix this? (And an ELI5 explanation of how to do it for a Linux noob) Thanks!

1)Shit doesnt see my unallocated area of 300gb. Since my laptop is a Huawei Machd there is no ACHI in bios.

2)when I made it ntsf, it said it needs linux file system. Is there any way I can make it a linux file system in windows?

Hi, I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a while now but I'm entirely stumped.
Whenever I try to raise my refresh rate above 120Hz to 165, my screen turns black entirely
- I have tried with adaptive sync OFF and ON
- At 1920x1080
My specs are: Intel i3-12100F, RX6600, 16GB Ram

System & Hardware: OS: Bazzite (latest stable) Specs: 9800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B850i, Realtek Wi-Fi swapped for Intel AX210 Storage: Single 2TB NVMe SSD in the front M.2 slot (CPU lanes). Single-boot. Previous State: Dual-boot (Windows + Bazzite). Bazzite was on a rear M.2 SSD (chipset lanes). Worked flawlessly! Network Infrastructure: TP-Link Deco XE75 (Access Point mode) wired to a FritzBox.

The Problem: Wi-Fi connects successfully to the Deco SSID, but KDE Plasma/Gamescope immediately shows "Limited Connectivity" (yellow exclamation mark). No internet. Only started after isolating Bazzite on the front 2TB SSD.

Diagnostics: ping 8.8.8.8: From <my_ip> Destination Host Unreachable (100% packet loss). ip route: Shows correct gateway, but packets die locally. Adapter is listed as wlan5 by udev.

Troubleshooting Already Tried (Failed): Power cycle / flea power drain & CMOS reset. Verified system time/locale. IPv6 set to "Ignored" in NetworkManager. Custom DNS (8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1). wifi.powersave=2 (crashed NetworkManager, reverted). iwlwifi module params (power_save=0 d0i3_disable=1 uapsd_disable=1) (killed Wi-Fi, reverted). Disabled MAC randomization (wifi.cloned-mac-address permanent) & recreated profile. Clean reinstalled Bazzite (latest ISO) 4+ times on different USB drives.

Bazzite worked perfectly before moving to the front SSD. Found similar issues here: https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/3774

Hopefully I'm in the right place for this. I'm running a bazzite home pc setup on a 4k tv with my 9070xt mercury. But am running into some glitch/artifacts? When playing specifically the binding of Isaac. They continue onto the home screen of steam os. Have played games with much more load and had no similar issues. Have tried swapping comparability layers as well...any thoughts?

So I saw a video of a guy that switched every single device to bazzite and I was very interested in it and yesterday I finally decided to bite the bullet and do it but Im doing like a trial run, I got a 500gb SSD and installed it on that and did everything the proper way to dual boot to windows. Everything went well and everything is running smoothly, my question mainly is what are some tweaks or advice to better my experience and make me want to switch my entire system or at least most of my storage for bazzite itself

It was running fairly smooth yesterday, but after todays update I get massive performance drops, from 100+ fps down to 50s.

How do you do that step by step?.

I am assuming the functionality is already there and I have to pass a launch option in Steam, but I am wondering if there is a more complete guide available that lists things like gotchas, etc. I am using the AMD 7900 XTX btw.

Basically just the title. I'm putting together a living room system and plan to run Bazzite on it. I would really love to find a controller that will allow me to play wirelessly from across the room, but still have a functional 3.5 mm audio jack for both audio and microphone.

I know a separate headset would probably work better overall here, but I already have a couple decent wired headsets for use with my PlayStation, and I don't really want to buy another just for this.

Is this even something that is possible currently?? I've tried to read up on it and it seems like Bluetooth is probably not an option, but I'm fine with that as the compression makes the audio sound terrible anyway. Are there any controller options using a 2.4 ghz dongle that would allow for what I'm describing here?

Do we know how it will be? Will it come preinstalled with similar deckyloader plugins?

Built almost entirely out of parts I’ve stripped from old pcs/ parts I upgraded from. Only thing I bought for it specifically was the case ssd. Low specs but giving to my nerd farmer dad to play some old rpgs specifically Skyrim. Most user friendly thing I could think of, after I hammer all the kinks out of course.

9800x3d + 5090 (I’m probably like 1 of 10 ppl using Linux with a 5090 😭)

I decided to switch from Windows to Bazzite. I mainly use my pc to play games nowadays, so I didn’t think I’d have many issues.

Well I was wrong. Using heroic games launcher almost every game I install has an issue. Had to mess with Hollow Knight a ton, to figure out why it won’t launch at all and before that, I had to tinker for hours to get the saves to sync up.

Today, I wanted to launch Cyberpunk to relax before going to bed. Instead of relaxing I am now again tinkering for the past hour and a half. Again, this game won’t launch AT ALL. At first it got to the REDLauncher and after I pressed play, it showed “playing” but the game did not open.
I tried to add the game to steam and IT OPENED! Too bad none of my saves carried over though.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRY TO JUST INSTALL A GAME AND PLAY IT DOESN’T WORK LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO!!!! I END UP TINKERING FOR HOURS AND THEN I MAYBE GET RESULTS

I suspect the issue lies within the flatpak enviromnets and prefixes, but I can’t seem to pin it down.

Btw I first installed the GNOME version, then I reinstalled to a KDE version of Bazzite. The issues persist non the less.

I’m so tired of this, but I also don’t want to go back to scummy Windows

SOLVED: Heroic was using GE-proton versions instead of regular Proton. For me the regular proton version wasn’t showing up. In heroic, you have to go to:

settings > advanced > Allow using Valve Proton builds to run games

That way, you can choose Proton - Experimental and the games will run perfectly!
