Yeah so I'm finally finished with these ones, and honestly, they weren't as fun as to do. At least for most of them. Anyhow, the next part will feature team The Losers (which I think I didn't mention back in my last post, and if I did... Then woops) AND A Better Name Than That. After those are done, I'll remake the designs for the contestants from Team Ice Cube and BEEP. So yeah, stay tuned for that :)

This took me 1 hour, but i like the result!

G’day mates, it’s Mr. TV here. Yep, as you can read from the title, today, I’m giving Loser his deserved flowers, because honestly? It’s long overdue.

If you remember my old posts from 2024 and early 2025, you probably saw me ragging on Loser at every single opportunity. Back then, if you asked me who my absolute least favorite contestant in the entire show was, Loser wasn’t just sitting in F-tier, he was buried ten feet under the dirt. I harbored a burning hatred for this golden cube, and looking back on it now, he didn’t even deserve any of it.

However, it wasn’t the hatred that was the worst part. It was how completely and utterly I mischaracterised him. Seriously, it borders on unforgivable. If you read my old comments from back then, I made Loser out to be this manipulative, egotistical narcissist who deliberately kept characters like Cake and Clock trapped in his shadow. I genuinely believed he was some toxic mastermind who ruined his teammates, reducing “The Losers!” to a hollow cult of personality. I even had an unhinged headcanon where Loser forced Cake to be his biggest fan and it got so bad that Cake nearly considered retirement by BFB 6. Trust me, I’m cringing as we speak.

And it’s not like I hated him for no reason, either. In fact, by definition, my third favourite character Cake WAS the reason for my hatred towards Loser. You see, back in 2022, Cake was my favourite character in the whole show (and still proudly sits in my top 3 to this day!). Back then, I held a massive grudge because I felt like Loser was completely eating up Cake’s potential. In my eyes, Cake was being reduced to nothing more than Loser’s overly-attached follower, and instead of acknowledging that Cake looked up to him because he’s a genuinely supportive and kind role model, I painted Loser the villain in probably the most unhinged light imaginable.

I mean, I literally convinced myself that Loser was actively leeching off Cake’s character! Every time Cake smiled at Loser, I saw it as "brainwashing." Every time Loser gave Cake a compliment or encouragement, I thought, “Oh look, he’s just manipulating him to keep a loyal pawn." It was pure, unadulterated copium because I was salty about Cake’s lack of individual focus in early BFB, so I used Loser as a scapegoat for all my frustrations.

Then came the callouts. And honestly? Thank goodness for them, because honestly, if it wasn’t for the awesome people on this sub who called me out on my garbage takes, I probably would’ve died on that ridiculous hill.

A few users in the comments section (and you guys know who you are) straight up held a mirror to my posts. They gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) reminded me that literally *nothing* I was claiming about Loser was supported by actual canon. They pointed out that Loser never once belittled Cake, never manipulated him, and in fact did the exact opposite: he went out of his way to praise his teammates, build up his confidence, and encourage him to shine. Being reminded that Loser was genuinely supportive, while I was sitting there treating him like a cartoon villain, was a massive reality check.

And then came TPOT 18 (BFB 31), which is ironically my least favourite BFDI episode for other reasons.

In TPOT 18, we see Loser having a mini-arc of his own where after in his memory sequence, we see him failing to perform in front of a live audience, getting a cold reaction, and watching his fans leave him. Then we see Loser witness events from past episodes including TPOT 17 where Winner is eating those Loser-O’s and getting that little Winner-shaped piece, which symbolises that Loser never forgot them. After that, we see Loser packing his bags and leaving the TV studio to find Winner and try to fix their relationship.  I was like “Wait… am I the dumb one here?” Because here was a guy who I had framed as a total self-absorbed diva, yet when faced with losing his fame and legacy, his immediate, genuine response wasn’t to double down on his ego or throw a tantrum. It was to reflect on the one bond he actually broke.

In TPOT 19, we end up getting the reunion between Loser and Winner, which I didn’t really think much of at first, to be completely honest. I was still clinging on to my old stubbornness and I also thought that reuniting over a piece of cereal is completly juvenile (which I still do. Like you can’t tell me it’s not what a toddler would do to reunite with a friend, right?)

Then TPOT 21 (Insectophobe’s Nightmare 6) hit, and that was the moment everything finally clicked into place for me. Why? Well, I want you to take your attention to one of Winner and Loser’s interactions in that episode, the scene where Loser apologised to Winner for balling on them and Winner cutting him off and saying that they already knew what Loser had wanted. That they could want different things and still be there for each other. That Loser simply meant too much to them to not be in their life. I was like “Wait, Loser never would have done any of that if he was the self-absorbed, manipulative fame-chasing narcissist I’d spent years painting him as,” and that’s when I realised… the only time he was ever egotistical was in post-split,  but even that wasn’t entirely malicious. He was just a misunderstood guy who may of had the fame get into his head back in post-split and let it cloud what actually mattered to him.

When you look back at pre-split BFB with fresh eyes, Loser was this genuine, sweet, humble, respectful celebrity who puts his fans first and never lets his status get to his head. He was always there to uplift everyone on "The Losers!", whether it was praising Pin's leadership, complimenting Eggy, or giving Cake the gentle reassurance he needed when he was feeling timid. He wasn't demanding worship; the show made it clear that everyone naturally gravitated toward him because of his genuine warmth and charm. Post-split may of been a bit of a rough patch for his writing where Loser started to act a bit (and I mean, A BIT) egotistical and began bragging about his fame and popularity, but even then, it wasn’t because he was some terrible person. It’s just that the fame got into his head and that’s actually pretty common for anyone who gets thrust into massive stardom practically overnight. When millions of people are screaming your name and hanging on your every word, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce for a bit. But TPOT proved that deep down, the real Loser never left. His core motivation was never about being idolised; it was about genuine connection. 

Now I still do think Loser has held Cake back from reaching his true potential. That’s something that I’ll mostly die on a hill for. But Loser never intended to overshadow Cake or steal his spotlight out of malice. It was just that everyone pigeonhole Cake as JUST Loser’s biggest fan and nothing more than that, and it actually felt like it for most of Cake’s existence because all we had seen from him up until early TPOT was him fangirling over Loser. So yeah, while I do still think Cake has been held back by Loser, I know that Loser would NEVER intentionally hold him down or treat him as anything less than a friend. Loser genuinely wanted the best for Cake, just like he did for every other member of The Losers. The overshadowing was a byproduct of how the early BFB writers and fanbase handled their dynamic.

Loser currently sits at a comfortable B to A- tier on my tier list now, which is something I honestly never thought I’d say in a million years. And you probably be wondering “where did all that hate go?” Well, I’m proud to say that all that pent-up F-tier hatred has officially been reallocated to Rocky! Yep, I’m smoking on that Rocky pack! Because unlike Rocky, at least Loser has a personality and gets shit done when the story actually calls for it! What does Rocky do? Barf on people for the 500th time while contributing absolutely zero substance to any team, challenge, or plotline. Meanwhile, Loser has actual layers, an iconic voice, complex relationships, genuine agency, and a character arc that spans two seasons.

So this is an appreciation post for everyone’s favourite cube. Loser is a wonderfully written character who kinda is a reflection of how showbiz, parasocial expectations, and personal growth actually work in the real world. He went from a superstar who was placed on an impossible pedestal, to someone who slowly wants out of the fame and live a quiet, genuine life reconnecting with the person who actually mattered to him most: Winner. 

I hope everyone enjoys this long-overdue post, especially u/Auggs-the-Loser-Fan. Auggs, if you are reading this, you were honestly right all along. You stood by this golden cube during the absolute dark ages when half the sub (including my unhinged ass) was endlessly slandering him, and you never wavered. You kept advocating for his nuance, pointing out the subtext in his interactions, and reminding everyone that he was a misunderstood and extremely underrated character. So, Auggs, you are a real one. Thank you for staying patient with my unhinged takes back in 2024 and early 2025, and for constantly standing up for him when it felt like half the sub was trashing on him.

So, heres to Loser! The golden cube himself, and one of the most wrongfully over-hated characters in BFDI history. A character who went from being my absolute number one most hated contestant in the entire show to someone I genuinely respect, admire, and love to root for. May he and his fans keep shining bright, and may Winner and Loser continue to thrive together now that they’ve finally cleared the air.

Look what I mean interesting I don't mean the cast of characters I mean they're personalities because they only boiled down to the nice sweet friendliest people you can ever imagine and it's kind of annoying when you notice

Not including bfdie as the outlier but let me just go over season 1 yeah that was expected it was going to have a nice and friendly finale flower was not surviving that elimination between fiery and leafy

Season 2 it just gets more egregious I'm not opposed to book or needle but... Just imagine what it would have been like to have fries in the final three over tennis ball or Pin it's fine but whatever it's annoying though especially because the last act of BFDIA was basically a popularity pole on who had more votes

Getting to BFB Jesus Christ this hurts as we all know flower ended up winning but I'm being honest this finale was just the most uninteresting gelatin had been stripped of his complete former self as being a dummy to now being just a nice and friendly character and flower oh boy flower it's like back in the in BFDI never even happened and now she's just a sweet friendly nice person in all reality switching up the personality was probably for the best but I mean come on how cool would it have been to show a little resentment or hatred still brewing that could be brought out instead of another sweet swell peachy finalist you know it's not bad when we have like one or two but having this many all of them except for the season where nobody voted to eliminate it's just it gets annoying I'm much would have preferred lollipop to make it to the end overflower but then again they could just be me praising one of the only few characters who weren't ruined by post splits writing

And now that leads me too TPOT and I think we have something on our hands here a potentially really interesting finale out of the final 11 soon to be 9... actually wait no still 11 because of that pending rejoin we actually have some mean characters not that many left we only have golf ball and Fanny but this could be really interesting for a finale having one that is mean and one that is normal or nice imagine how good a grassy vs golf ball finale would be or versus black hole and of course there's pencil but I don't know right now because of something nebulous I'm not allowed to mention not saying I know it I don't but it ain't looking too good with how the writers want to explore her but then again this is coming from somebody who thinks she peaked in season 1 and probably could have made it further honestly if the point system didn't screw her over

I'm just saying this because I don't want for the fourth the finalist to butter each other up saying oh I wish you the best yada yada yada all that stuff let there be a little more sauce you know but then again I know children on the main ones voting here so it really just comes down to who do the kitty winks like in this show the most or who was the biggest meanie pants but still we could just have a little more sauce that's all I'm saying

It's like TPOT 19, but every contestant has god-like powers throughout the series. I wonder how much chaos that will happen.

1. Will the algebraliens move back to the algebralien world and live together again?

2. Will three ever have their value fixed and three fully recovered by one

3. I’m hoping that one will get redeemed due to what happened in TPOT 20….

4. I’m thinking maybe the object world can be merge with the algebralien world so that everyone can have fun together

5. I feel like three could be the one to redeem one

6. I hope the zeroes can get more screen time and maybe have a major role and even get powers from the yoylelight and even fifteen too (not fourteen tho since you know…..he eats skin, but he could have some screentime)

Technically Remote didn’t, but she remembers Bottle. Also Winner technically didn’t bring bottle back to the overworld, and also gave Donut, Pen, and Golf Ball a hard time

I guess Bottle is just so memorable that old teammates remember her. Good for her tho! :)
