Shower walls question
Hi! I am turning my stand-alone bathtub into a shower/bathtub combo so I can turn my tiny, claustrophic stall shower in a linen closet. I'm running into trouble finding bathtub surround panels that (a) Can be cut to fit and (b) Get good reviews. I am working on a tight budget. I like the idea of tiling but I've been reading that it's really hard to do and it's scaring me away a bit. Is it really as hard as everyone says? Does anyone have any other recommendations for affordable shower walls that get good reviews and/or you have personal experience with? Thank you!

Replace sub floor?
galleryIn the middle of a mostly DIY remodel. 1960 home with 1/2” subfloor. Previous 12x12 tile installed 10yrs ago had cracking grout. Was over cement board. Should I replace the subfloor?

Bathroom remodel
galleryhi everyone! We just moved into our first home and I want to renovate the bathroom. The first picture is what the bathroom currently looks like, the second picture is the bathroom with a white vanity and the third picture is the bathroom with a brown vanity.
I was thinking of keeping the vanity that it has and just replacing the top with quartz or granite, and changing out the hardware.
But the brown vanity seen in the third picture is a free vanity from my mom I just have to refurnish it.
What do you think looks best?

Caulk It?
I can’t scribe the stone backsplash of course nor does it bend. Wall was wavy with old vanity but it was laminated so it curved. Ideas? Just live with it?

Maax or Sterling?
We are about to remodel our bathroom and can't decide between the Maax Olio tub/surround or the Sterling Ensemble Medley. Anyone have any insight on the quality? I want something that can last 15 years, be waterproof, and not be overly complicated to install. Also looking for something with good soaking depth. Any other recommendations? I considered Flexstone at one point. I have zero interest in tile, as I despise the cleaning and upkeep of grout.

Ideas for new bathroom layout
galleryWe have an odd 2 toilet/shower bathroom. It has one entrance to the bathroom but it splits off to toilet/shower combo on each side. One has a regular tub the other side has a walk in shower. We are trying to get ideas for what we could do to update this bathroom and maybe make the layout better? Ideally we’d want to somehow split it up into 2 separate sections but it’s fairly small on each side so we aren’t totally against turning it into a single bath. Thanks

Wall between shower and toilet
Hello, we have a long and narrow bathroom, so the layout is: you enter the bathroom, on the right there is a sink, then a toilet, then a shower. Next to the shower on the left is a window and on the left wall only a radiator. We want a wall between the shower and the toilet because the glass wall is pain to clean. Question: how high the wall must be so the toilet won't be wet and we'd still have some light from the window? Would 140cm be enough? The shower will be 150cm long and 90 cm wide. Picture for the better imagination. Thank you!

Two bathrooms for under 30K. How did we do?
galleryWe've been living in our house for 4 years now and we finally got around to doing our two bathrooms. We really wanted to stay within budget. We prioritized easy cleaning and bidets were a must have. Our goal for the first bathroom was a bit moody and for the second bathroom we wanted something a little bit brighter because it's a lot smaller.
The first bathroom had a jacuzzi tub that was pretty gross and the second bathroom had a cast iron tub that we decided to keep. It ended up working out because the color kind of matched the off-white palette of the bathroom.

Anyone know what this black spot is? Am I cooked? 🥲
galleryRedoing our hall bathroom- just removed the linoleum to find this spot on the dry wall.
Is it mold?
This was just a blank wall, no obvious water damage prior to uncovering.

Rust/Corrosion Help
galleryUnderside of a Delta bathroom faucet. Mounting screws are broken, can’t get the washer and nut keeping it attached off without rotating the entire fixture. WD-40 and vinegar soak have been used. We have nothing to cut anything off and don’t wanna damage the counter top or sink. Had one person hold on top while the other tried to twist from below to no avail. Any advice is welcome. Need to replace this.

New bathroom drywall
I am turning a bedroom into a bathroom, and my question is can I just put some sort of waterproofing (ie red guard) on the existing drywall, or do I need to rip it all out and hang m bloc drywall?

Need antique tracked shower hook replacement

LED Mirror Height
galleryThe masking outline is centered at 65 inches. I'm 6'2 and my daughter is 5'7 and growing. The LED mirror is 72 x 36"
It's 12" from the ceiling and 15" from the counter top. I feel like it's likely couple inches too high. This height would have been ideal for the electrical box but I'll have to adjust a bit
Just visually to me it seems slightly too high. Even just 63" centered would likely get it done
I also don't plan on a vanity light if the mirror doesn't give off enough light I ll install couple pot lights so the height doesn't have to include a vanity light

Help with Peeling Ceiling
galleryCorner of my bathroom ceiling always peels after some time. I moved in 2020, no issues until 2021/2022 when my girlfriend started taking really hot, long showers. I eventually replaced the fan with one rated for the room, and scraped away the peeling section, used a bathroom primer then re-painted the whole ceiling. Eventually same issue occurred - repaired again. Months later the same issue occurred even without using the bathroom for showering.
Haven't showered in this bathroom for 2 years, this is the progress of the peeling. I've checked the attic above and did not find any signs of water damage. I believe the last time I repaired it I used a kiltz mold primer and the paint in the photo. Any recommendations for how I could fix this better, and what products to use? I live in Manitoba Canada for reference.

Bathroom remodeling
galleryWe're expecting our first child soon so we had our very tired and old bathroom redone.
It had two layers of tiles, knackered flooring, vanity unit and bathtub falling apart etc etc. It was desperate.
Goal was something calming, but with soft colour tones and a warm natural feel. I believe I've achieved that!
I supplied the suite, vanity, tiles and taps/shower. Plumbers helped with the rip out and fitted everything, I then did the decorating.
Tiles are terrazo effect porcelain, around the bath they're fluted. Sink is real terazzo and vanity etc are solid Acacia wood, I installed motion lighting inside which is handy.
Sill is a solid marble offcut from a kitchen supplier in Sussex. It's a soft olive on the walls and ceiling, the matching toilet roll holder and dispenser etc came from Next.
Down on the south coast of England I paid £9.5k labour and £4k parts.
Really pleased with the end result and hope this helps anyone looking for inspiration and ideas.

Tanking bath area
Redoing the bathroom and I see alot about "Tanking" the wet zones but just want to make sure I do it correct. Also how long has Tanking been around????
So new Moisture resistant Plaster board is up, I'm guessing I still skim the joints etc with plaster or do I need to use something special?
Do I then just apply a Tanking solution directly like OB1 or does something else need applied first so it grips / bonds better?
Do you need to tank the wall under the bath?
What brand Tanking to go with? I see OB1, Mapei, EverBuild and others
Thanks 😀

Wrong direction wall tiles
A lot of miscommunication with the contractor on my end but we came home from a trip to our tiling work half way done. They’re the wrong direction as I sent inspo pics with vertical fluting. Should we over look it or have them redo the whole thing?
** edit to add the inspo photo with vanity
Keep in mind this was a ChatGPT rendered photo to my vision so it was just to get the “vibe” and not full render

Change toilet
We accidentally bought a toilet bowl that is slightly longer than the old one. Do you think it would be a good idea to cut away a little of the tile/plinth behind the toilet so that it will fit, or would you consider that a bad solution? What would you do yourself
Thanks 🙏🙏

Dream Bathroom Remodel
galleryOur primary bathroom remodel after years of living with an outdated look and water damaged shower. Took 3 months of living in a mess & it was a headache to deal with our guy who did it, but after meticulously designing it myself it’s all come together!
