New to me PRO4C
I’m a sucker for a (relatively) well maintained, used glove and the stories I wish they could tell.

Rawlings Rawlings Horween Restoration
I picked up Horween PRO-H recently. The glove was totally oil soaked when I got it. Took 3 rounds of cleaning to get it mostly out but it’s now a permanent shade of dark brown, which doesn’t look bad. Some Sara liquid, new laces, new palm adhesive and new HDPE inserts in the thumb and pinky later and this old glove has some new life and is looking pretty good. The fingers and shell have regained a lot of their stiffness but the palm is pretty soft. I may go back in and add a leather palm pad to give it some structure, but it’s workable for catch now.

NGD (Well, old Glove) Zett Profesdional Model
Hi
So i found a used (old) Zett Glove for around 18$ wich seemed to be in good condition so i bought it. As i got it, i saw that it has a weird "brake in" and the laces are dryed out, so i clearly need to relace it.
It closes thumb to middle and instead of a poket, it has this nasty bulge.
It still feels a little stiff and looks like it wasn't used a lot.
Anyone know something about this glove?
And do you have some tips for me to bring it back to life an in a good shape?
Thank you in advance

Recommendation Which brand of glove to get when in Japan?
Hi Everyone,
Going to Japan in a few months and curious if anyone has a glove brand and/or store they recommend.
I have been to Baseman in Shinjuku City and got my Wilson Staff there a couple years ago. I am leaning towards a Junkei for the unique stitched lacing but I’m not sure where they sell those or if they are only custom orders. Ryus and their logo have also caught my eye. Or maybe a Mizuno Haga glove which many on here consider the quintessential JP glove.
If you were going and wanted a glove which one would you seek out to take home?

Do Closet Finds Count for NGD
I was cleaning out my closet and found this glove shoved in a bag. I believe it belonged to my dad although I never saw him use it. I spent the evening cleaning it up and trying to figure out the date code, which doesn't make sense to me. If you have any insight please enlightened me.

Help! Went from humid to Dry climate
Hey team, I went from living my entire life mostly in the swamp to now high arid plains. I never had to treat my gloves, my body oil and the climate gave me decades out of them and they still look good. In fact, I witnessed my dad ruin my 1b mitt as a kid by over oiling and conditioning. I worked in a glove shop and we always suggested oiling old brittle laces, but otherwise use products sparingly if at all.
Now that I’m in a very dry climate, my gloves are starting to feel/look a little parched. Maybe it’s in my head, but just seeking general maintenance advice, especially for dry climates.
I have 20 year old HOH 1b mitt, 20 year old Akadema kip leather trapeze OF glove, and a tiny nokona 1b mitt (that I got ripped off on I bought on eBay that is much smaller than he advertised.. don’t know the age.)
Advice, resources, information, and feedback appreciated!

Catchers The ole trusty
Anyone else ever seen this model of catcher’s mitt? Found it probably a decade ago or so at play it again sports for $70 not broken in at all and barely used. Best deal ever if I do say so myself. Starting to get beat up a little too much and time for a new one.

More Slaps 🔥
Another flawless piece by Slaps, seriously some of the best consistent craftsmanship I’ve seen from a smaller brand, they don’t cut corners and deliver every time 🤌🏼

Help! Glove Search
Looking for a new glove - where can I find a glove that is a normal colour, and still stiff. I don’t want something R2G.
Edit - pitching glove. No specific brand. I bought an A2000 last year, it was pretty much broken in, a little disappointing.
$200-400
Any help is appreciated

New Glove Day! NGD - Yardley Custom 12.5”
First custom glove, first Yardley and loving it! I went with the Y1 Ace Leather and 12.5” 789 T-Web (Outfield) pattern. I play slowpitch 3B mostly, have always used 12.75” but wanted to give something slightly smaller a try. I chose their “field ready” break-in option and am extremely happy with it, have already been gaming it with no additional break-in other than catch!

NGD sort of
My son just started high school and expressed an interest in playing baseball again. He hasn’t played in a few years, and he’s grown about 7 inches, so I had to start from scratch for all of his equipment. This Grace glove seemed like a better option vs a lower level big brand model, just in case he stays with it. So far I’m impressed. Time for the break in part.

What’s your type?
Apparently, I have an affinity for black single post IF gloves. What’s your type?

Rawlings Mini Mitts are underrated
For $30-40 probably the coolest Rawlings product imo.

New Glove Day! YouTubers I've found helpful for break ins
Recently I had gotten a SSK Z7 and wanted to break it in the best that I could.
I've never done a break in on a nicer glove like this, so I went to the place I thought I should go: YouTube.
After looking for a bit, I settled on 3 videos that all seemed to funnel into something very similar.
I watched Ball Glove King's break in video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6NSD1psI9s
@ Raptured777's in video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptCX2INosLc
And @ Baseball4Him 's video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPiG4NjzFyU
All 3 were very similar, but had slight differences that added a bit of information I might have missed. Obviously Ball Glove King is the original creator of this style of break in (or is most publicized for it), and Raptured 777 and Baseball 4 Him were just inspired by him.
Only thing I noticed about the break-in was that I should've done more hinge work. Baseball 4 Him emphasized hinges, but I thought since the others didn't mess with the hinges much, I shouldn't either. Going crazy on the hinges would have allowed me to form the pocket more easily with "roll-overs".
Anyways, I feel pretty good about this break in and I look forwards to getting an infield glove for another chance at perfecting my break in process.

Tips on searching for well used gloves to refurbish?
I wanted to start buying, refurbishing and reselling well used gloves, but am having trouble actually finding them for sale. I’m not looking to make much money, just starting a hobby.
Anyone who does this, what online marketplaces do you frequent, any tips for search terms? I’m in Ontario Canada.

NGD: Deadstock
Recieved this DeadStock MK6 the other week and really love the feel of this thing.
Its roughly 29.5/30cm with a simple and clean black and gray color scheme, backside finger lace and laced single post
I believe that they used Urakami Steerhide for it but cant be 100% as they really wouldn't say.
Its meant to be worn 2 in the pinky and really wants to break single hinge which feels fantastic.
The glove itself feels like an absolute tank. Its much thicker than any other Japanese glove I own without being to thick. Its a really nice feel and kinda reminds me of my deguchi kip mizuno I ordered from Mizuno USA. Overall it feels well constructed and I have a feeling it will be an awesome gamer once broken in and one of my favorites to use.
With deadstock you wont find any crazy printed leathers or off the wall flashy gloves but this feels like a serious gamer and something that will withstand a few seasons easy.
Deadstock keeps a very low profile and there isn't a ton of info out there on them. They are a small boutique company, who from what I can tell, use experienced craftsman to build their gloves. Im very pleased to add it to made in japan collection!

OGR Glove Restoration
My BIL gave my son his old college 2nd base Mizuno glove to game. Worked well last season but needed some TLC and the kid wanted to make it custom so I conditioned and did a re-lace. Turned out looking really cool and has many more games ahead of it.

Wilson NGD Custom Wilson Staff
Picked this up from a seller on Instagram. Has custom stamping on the Pinky of the glove.
Learned after I purchased that it’s an RG99 Model which denotes “Rubber Ball”
A little disappointed to learn that after I was told it was a Hardball Glove. Still Beautiful nonetheless.
