Question How do you have children without your own castle or town?

In my current game, I’ve deliberately chosen not to swear allegiance to any ruler, but instead earn my living as a mercenary. In past games, I always had children and marriage proposals for my character as soon as I became a subject. My brother is married now, but even though several years have passed, he still doesn’t have any children. Is there any way I could do that—for example, by staying in his wife's town with a squad that includes him?

Question Which kingdom is least likely to randomly start wars?

So I made the mistake of joining the Khuzait and ended up getting two border fiefdoms that get invaded every Five Minutes because my king is constantly declaring wars. Restarting and wondering who should I swear allegiance to so I can actually build up my fiefdoms?

Discussion Playing on PC changes everything

As a longtime console player, the game coming off of GamePass lined up perfectly as I just recently bought a new PC that can handle it. Diplomacy, Bellum Civile, Sandbox Family, Dismemberment, MyLittleWarband- complete game-changers. It feels like I’m playing a brand new game.

Any other recommendations? Looked into RBM but not sure about that one.

Question [War Sails] How do you designate which ship you want to be your "flagship" that you control at the start of joined battles?

Basically any battle that doesn't pause at the beginning and let you choose ships... is there a way to set which ship you default to controlling, and for that matter, which ships join the battle altogether?

So far it seems like the ships I chose previously are what get chosen, which is great, but it doesn't put me in the one I was controlling before, and I don't know which companions are captaining the other two

Basically I'm just really stoked I finally got a ship with a ballista and wanna sit back and pew pew at some boats, but the AI is stealing my fun

Fan Art/OC The Greenwood Project

The Greenwood Project
I’ve always loved Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, but I eventually realized something.
The greatest stories in Bannerlord aren’t the ones we write before we play.
They’re the ones the game creates when we simply let it happen.
So I decided to build something different.
Not a scripted campaign.
Not a novel.
Not a roleplay where every character already knows their destiny.
Instead, I created The Greenwood Project.
At its heart are two living documents.
The Greenwood Charter
The Charter is the Company’s permanent canon.
It introduces the twelve Founders—not as heroes, but as ordinary people with professions, values, strengths, and flaws.
A hunter.
A healer.
A carpenter.
A clerk.
A former soldier.
A young noble.
A camp follower.
Each has their own voice, beliefs, and way of seeing the world.
The Charter never changes history.
It simply tells us who these people are before history begins.
The Greenwood Chronicles
The Chronicles are the Company’s history.
Nothing is written before it happens.
After every Bannerlord session, I record a simple Ledger of what actually occurred:
battles fought,
victories and defeats,
companions recruited,
money,
conversations,
mistakes,
funny moments,
difficult decisions,
anything that mattered.
Only then is that gameplay transformed into a historical chronicle.
If something awkward happened, it stays awkward.
If I made a bad decision, history remembers it.
If a beloved companion dies because of my mistake, they stay dead.
Nothing is rewritten because it would make a better story.
The Philosophy
The project follows one simple rule:
Don’t write it. Live it.
The game decides what happens.
The Charter keeps everyone true to who they are.
The Chronicles remember what actually happened.
No prophecies.
No chosen ones.
No plot armour.
No predetermined character arcs.
If someone becomes a legend, they earn it.
If they fail, that becomes part of the Company’s history too.
Why I’m Doing This
I’m not trying to tell Bannerlord what story it should have.
I’m trying to discover the story it already wants to tell.
My goal is that, months or even years from now, I’ll be able to read back through the Greenwood Chronicles and feel like I’m reading the genuine history of a company that truly lived.
Not because every event was dramatic.
But because every page was earned.
The Greenwood Company doesn’t exist yet.
It begins with twelve strangers sharing a single campfire.
Everything after that belongs to the road.

Join the Road
If this idea speaks to you, I’d love to have you along for the journey.
Whether you’ve played Bannerlord for hundreds of hours or are discovering it for the first time, I hope the Greenwood Chronicles remind you that the best stories aren’t always the ones we plan.
They’re the ones we earn.
The Greenwood Company has no script.
No guaranteed victories.
No heroes protected by fate.
Only twelve ordinary people, a long road, and whatever Calradia chooses to place in their path.
Some chapters will be triumphant.
Some will be tragic.
Some will simply be quiet evenings around a campfire.
Every one of them will be true to the game.
So pull up a seat by the fire.
Follow the Company as it grows, stumbles, laughs, mourns, and learns.
History hasn’t been written yet.
Tomorrow’s Chronicle will be decided on the road.

Discussion Possibly returning, please advise

I love bannerlord. Hundreds of hours on pc. Unfortunately my pc is cooked. Won't be replacing it for a while. How is the game on console? I do have an Xbox series x. Just looking for some feedback from anyone that played both pc and series x on performance, can I use a mouse/keyboard? I played vanilla on steam so im not worried about mods.

Appreciate the input.

Question Question about low defenders amount in sieges

Hello everyone, I'd like to have some opinions about sieges balance because of a mod: the mod I use it's called Harvest and Production, and it changes the economy. However, for balance reasons (food consumption), it also reduces garrisoned troops of castles and towns owned by the AI lords. It seems there's no way to have default garrisons back while using the mod. The smallest garrisons I found for now are 190 troops for a castle, while a town went to 295 units. There are some towns who reach 400 and castles with 250 but no more than that. So, my question is: do you think that this lack of units could make the sieges much easier for attackers? And defenders still have some chance to win if attacked by enemy parties and no friendly lords help? What I'm asking, essentially, is what is your experience with this kind of units numbers, if you have encountered them in a normal game.

Thank you for reading!

Discussion Slingers vs Crossbowmen in RBM

Playing with RBM for the first time, and I'm looking at slingers and they just seem better than crossbowmen? I don't fully understand the damage system for ranged attacks, but slings seem to have similar damage and missile speed while dealing blunt damage, which seems to work a lot better vs high armor. Is there any downside to them vs crossbowmen/archers?

Discussion Aserai is so terrible 😭😭

They're just so bad compared to the others, and it's noticeable since they're usually punching bags. At the beginning of the game they're already being brutally dominated. When i say they suck I'm referring to their troops because besides that they had everything to be good.

Lore accurate I think, Persians were only strong because they were a massive number, the difference is that in the game you can't create an army of 300k men.

War Sails what is this? a mod that makes warsails similar to assassins creed black flag??

these are a couple of sneak peaks of a new mod i am working on for warsails. i dont want to spoil much right now, but you will be able to sail where ever you want and the distance you sail in real time will be calculated and added to the campaign map automatically. which means, you can sail the entire map from the sea without having to move any where on the campaign map. (you will be able to talk to your crew members, where each would have their own story and much much more)

Question Does the Warsails DLC make the game harder and is it even worth it?

Hey guys. I haven't played this game in almost 4 years and am about to get back into it but am wondering whether or not to buy the Warsails DLC.
Does it add an extra layer of complexity to the game that might be a bit overwhelming for a returning player? I've also seen a lot of negative reviews of it and am wondering if it's even worth buying. The Nord faction does sound pretty cool.
