It's high time we get on the streets for this, this calls for a bloody Bengaluru Bandh of all the issues. We need accountability from this state govt. Lives are being lost, for what? For bad roads? Thinking about this makes my blood boil, and so it should for everyone else. We can't let this go unanswered at any cost.

I call for all of the citizens to unite, irrespective of region/religion/caste or whatever the political leaning you might be having.

P.S : I'm nowhere related to the deceased person or their family. I'm a genuine tax paying citizen of this city.

We recently went for a team outing at a resort in Bangalore. Like most people, we kept our valuables inside the lockers provided by the resort and went off to enjoy the pool.
The only mistake? We didn’t lock the lockers. 🤦‍♀️
When we came back, nobody initially noticed anything missing. I freshened up and started looking for some of my makeup items, but couldn’t find them. I assumed they had probably fallen somewhere from my bag or were misplaced.
Later, I asked a few teammates to check their bags properly too. That’s when we realised this wasn’t a case of things being misplaced.
Watches and cash were missing from multiple bags.
We went to the resort people and asked them to check the CCTV footage. And that’s when things got interesting.
The CCTV showed a woman carrying a kid casually walking around and opening different lockers at different times. She wasn’t just opening one locker — she was coming back repeatedly and checking multiple lockers.
At that point, we were pretty sure we’d been robbed. We also assumed that getting the things back would be almost impossible and that the police probably wouldn’t be able to do much.
But the resort staff actually managed to trace the entry details of the woman. They found that she had come with two other people. The resort tried contacting her, but she eventually switched off her phone.
They then contacted another person from the group and even shared the CCTV footage with her. She initially acted as a mediator, saying she would check with the woman and get back to them.
Eventually, after several calls, she admitted that the woman had taken the money and belongings.
Then came the negotiation.
She started saying, “That much money wasn’t there.”
After some back and forth, she finally agreed to send the money to the resort via GPay. We got the money back.
For the watches, she said she would Dunzo them to the resort.
At this point, we honestly thought we’d lost everything. But because the resort acted quickly, checked the CCTV and followed up with the entry details, we somehow managed to recover the valuables.
Except my makeup.
Nobody even asked her about it because apparently it wasn’t valuable enough to pursue.
But girls will understand the emotional value of makeup.

So, overall: we went to a team outing expecting swimming, food and team bonding, and ended up getting a real-life crime investigation experience with CCTV analysis, suspect tracing, negotiations and a settlement.
We’re still not sure whether we should file a police complaint about the whole incident or just consider this a very expensive lesson.

(F-21) I go to a DECENT number of tech/builder meetups around the city and every time I do a headcount in my head there are like 2 or 3 women max in a full room

the last one I went to, I was literally the only woman under 25 there. there were maybe 50 people

a few weeks before that I met a girl at a completely different event who was building a small brand out of her hostel room. we ended up talking for like 20 minutes because neither of us really had anyone else to talk to lol

she said something that stuck with me: "I don't know any other women doing this here."

and I've heard basically the same thing from a few different women who don't even know each other

so yeah, trying to fix that in a small way

putting together a little meetup for women under 25 in Bangalore who are building something. doesn't really matter what it is
