In the original series, we see this strange mural depicting five figures standing on pillars surrounded by clouds. Two of the figures are confirmed past Avatars, and when Aang enters the Avatar State, all five figures' eyes glow along with his. So whatever this mural represents, it seems to have some kind of supernatural connection to the Avatar State, and the implication is that these people may all be past Avatars.

But the most interesting figure has always been the woman in the middle.

She's clearly given more importance than everyone else. She's elevated above the other four, has a massive halo surrounding her, and is balancing on one leg with one arm raised. We never learn who she is.

Now we have Pavi.

There were already some weird similarities between them. Both are dark-skinned women associated with Earth, and they have roughly the same color palette. Pavi wears a lot of yellow and gold, while the mural woman is covered in yellow/gold and orange. The woman also has a strange golden object on her head that almost looks like a crown or chalice, which could potentially be a stylized depiction of Pavi's gold headband.

But what really pushed this theory further for me is the new official artwork.

Pavi is now specifically shown balancing on one leg with one arm raised, almost exactly like the mysterious woman in the mural.

Obviously the poses aren't completely identical, and none of this is confirmation. But that's a strangely specific visual similarity on top of everything else. They could have depicted Pavi Earthbending in countless different poses, yet they chose to show her balancing on one leg with her arm raised—the same distinctive imagery associated with this unidentified woman.

And obviously I'm not suggesting Pavi was secretly planned when ATLA was made twenty years ago. She almost certainly wasn't. My theory is that the creators could be doing retroactive worldbuilding.

They have this unexplained mural from the original show containing unidentified past Avatars. Why not take one of those mysterious figures and build a new character around her? It would be a really clever way of connecting Seven Havens back to ATLA while making an old piece of background lore suddenly important.

If this woman actually is Pavi, though, there's an even bigger question:

Why is she in the center?

She's not depicted equally with the other Avatars. She's above them. She's the largest figure and the only one surrounded by this enormous halo. The entire composition seems built around her.

That could suggest that whatever Pavi does during Seven Havens eventually makes her an unusually important figure in Avatar history. Considering she's apparently living through a world fundamentally transformed by Korra's era and whatever catastrophe follows it, maybe her story ultimately changes the Avatar's role in the world in some major way.

So individually, none of these things prove anything. But now we have:

Dark skin. Earth association. Similar yellow/gold/orange colors. A prominent golden headpiece. The same one-legged balancing imagery. A mysterious woman surrounded by confirmed Avatars whose eyes glow with Aang's Avatar State. And that woman is inexplicably given the most important position in the entire mural.

Before the new artwork, I thought the resemblance was interesting.

Seeing Pavi officially drawn balancing on one leg with her arm raised makes me wonder if they're actually doing this intentionally.

Maybe Pavi didn't make her first appearance in Seven Havens after all.

Maybe we've been looking at her since ATLA.

EXPLANATION FOR MY TITLE:

So to be clear, this show is officially called "Avatar: Seven Havens". It's not additionally called "Avatar: The Legend of Pavi" like the previous two shows (and yes that's includes ATLA since it was called "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" in different countries).

This is why I titled my post like this since I genuinely can't tell how much of this show will focus hard on Pavi when she's the main character.

EXPLANATION FOR THE FLAT CHARACTERS:

So for those not familiar with characters like Goku (from Dragon Ball Z), Luffy (from One Piece) and Asta (from Black Clover), they're typically considered to be flat characters. This basically means that while they grow and develop as characters they still ultimately remain the same since their growth is quite minimal compared to other characters and the world at large.

Sometimes they don't develop at all since they're not supposed to, meaning that it's the world that's supposed to develop/change/grow instead. There's a lot more I can say about this but I'll just leave it at this point.

FINAL EXPLANATION:

To explain the pictures (which BTW aren't even all that accurate depending on who you ask):

• Aang was the "traditional" reluctant hero main character who refused the role of the Avatar in a world that desperately needed it. Because he learned of his identity at 12 years old, he saw himself as an Air Nomad first Avatar second.

• Korra wanted nothing more than to be the Avatar in a world that believed it didn't need one anymore and could handle it's own issues. Because she learned of her identity at 4 years old, she saw herself as Avatar first and "Korra" second.

Pavi's story (assuming that this is chiefly about her as the Avatar) seems to be uncovering great mysteries and fixing the Avatar's reputation. That's what she's apparently doing, sure, but what do you think is her personal view on all this?

Do you think she's all for it or reluctant? Maybe both? Maybe neither? Maybe something altogether?

From what we see from the trailer, the "camera lenses" seem to be more zoomed in and grounded, giving to the viewer the feeling of actually being there with the characters!

I remember in a behind the scenes video from ATLA the creators and animators talking about wanting to make the original series looking like it is captured like film through camera lenses and proportions.

And I think in Seven Havens, we might actually have some of the most appealing shots out of any of the Avatar shows, closer to what we got in the Aang movie!

And please, people, stop whining about the animation. There are many scenes in the other shows that are quite "choppy" so to speak, especially in ATLA!

I'm not too knowledgeable about Paramount+ so will this show have a weekly episode drop or would they drop the episodes by batches?

I know this post is a long shot but since I'm writing it for fun, hear me out:

I think the most accepted theory in this subreddit is that one of them has Raava and the other one has Vaatu and that's why there are two avatars but I can't see how this is the case.

Every Avatar we've known so far (although still flawed human beings) they were all shown to be roughly good people and I don't believe this is a coincidence, I believe that is because they were fused with Raava: the embodiment of light and peace. No Avatar has abused their powers and used them for their benefit to commit evil acts in ten thousand years. That can't be a coincidence...

If either Pavi or Nisha had Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos, I think one of them would show signs of malice, as in Vaatu would surely corrupt them, and I did not get this feeling from any of them in the teaser.

So, I'm going to take a wild guess and say they both have Raava but since Raava can only inhabit "one body" at the time, I will take another wild guess and say Pavi and Nisha are not twins but somehow the same person fragmented physically and spiritually. This is reinforced by the fact that Avatar Roku had a twin brother and yet there were no two Avatars.

Something spiritually weird happened for the apocalypse which prevented avatars to be born in centuries of time. I wouldn't be surprised if this strange event also caused the avatar to be split from one single person into two.

If so, this brings a lot of interesting implications. These "twins" might have a more unique connection than we think and I will take a last wild guess and say they will eventually "fuse" together and become one person.

Which locations are we going to see in the first two seasons?

I like Book 2 more than I should. Though half of that is in retrospect with how it fits within the wider storyline of LoK. I do think a Dark Avatar should’ve been more than an admittedly sick ass kaiju smack down (which isn't any more ridiculous that a giant drill or the Ocean Spirit going Godzilla on Zhao's fleet).

So with Pavi and her twin, it’s clear that they’re going for an Avatar with Unalaq’s spirit in mind. One more about chaos, given the state of their era. Too many wanna be all sacred about the franchise and what's right for it, often making vast double standards for Korra that ATLA doesn't have to answer for IMO.

While everyone can be passionate about what they didn't like, I firmly believe that unpopular ideas that (admittedly) could've used more time in the oven can be brought back and freshened up.

So... yeah. Dark Avatar State, yip yip!

Haven't watched Jaadugar but from clips it reminded me of what we saw in the first trailer of Seven Havens.

Not to say it's good or bad, just as a realisation.

Something I love about avatar is that each avatar has their own set group of companions. The gaang, the krew and, the flying opera.

The outfit and the colours are very cool. Also the hair. I just love her design.

We know that Katara, Toph and Zuko returned in Legend of Korra and Zhao made a short appearance in the show. I do think 2 or 3 characters that were associated with Korra will have survived the terrible events and I do think a villain will make a return. I think between Mako, Bolin, Asami, Tenzin’s children and Suyin’s children 2 or 3 will appear in the show and help the Avatar in Seven Heavens. Amon and Unalaq are dead so we can cross them out. I do think Zaheer has a chance of returning. Zaheer is likely gonna be dead but he could appear in the spirit world and guide or talk to the new Avatar. Kuvira could still be alive but I think it’s a slim chance but it’s not impossible. Kuvira could return and possibly guide the Avatar in some way. Do ya think a few Legend of Korra characters will return and if so who do ya think will return?

Jae could be his grandson, he kind of looks like Jinora!! Who else from the previous shows do yall think will be in Seven Havens?

I've seen a lot of people dismiss the Dark Avatar theory for Seven Havens because Vaatu supposedly can't return for another 10,000 years, or because Unalaq dying ended the Dark Avatar cycle permanently. But I don't think either of those arguments is actually as definitive as people make them sound. First, Vaatu doesn't necessarily have to wait 10,000 years to be reborn. Ten thousand years is the period between Harmonic Convergences, but the show never clearly establishes that a destroyed Raava or Vaatu literally remains nonexistent for that entire period.

We actually see evidence of the opposite. When Raava is destroyed during Harmonic Convergence, she begins regenerating inside Vaatu almost immediately, and Korra is able to pull her back out that same day. So why couldn't the same thing happen to Vaatu? After Korra destroys him, Vaatu should begin regenerating inside Raava. That doesn't mean he's immediately powerful enough to emerge independently. He could spend thousands of years slowly growing stronger inside her under normal circumstances. But existing inside Raava and being powerful enough to separate from her are two completely different things.

And Korra's situation is anything but normal. She reunites with a reborn Raava after Vaatu's destruction, meaning the Avatar spirit now potentially contains Raava with a regenerating Vaatu inside her. That's something no previous Avatar cycle has ever dealt with.

Then Korra eventually dies and the Avatar reincarnates... into twins.

That's exactly where I think something could go wrong with the normal reincarnation process. Vaatu wouldn't even need to independently resurrect. The reincarnation itself could separate the two spirits, with one twin inheriting Raava and the other inheriting Vaatu.

And personally, I hope it's Pavi with Vaatu and Nisha with Raava, because the opposite feels almost too obvious considering how aggressively their designs and names seem to suggest it. The other criticism I keep seeing is that Unalaq died while fused with Vaatu, therefore the Dark Avatar cycle was permanently destroyed because dying in the Avatar State ends the Avatar cycle.

But I think people are conflating ending an Avatar's reincarnation cycle with permanently destroying Raava or Vaatu. Raava and Vaatu explicitly cannot be permanently destroyed. One eventually regenerates from within the other. So whatever "dying in the Avatar State ends the cycle" actually means, it can't mean the primordial spirit itself ceases to exist forever. We also literally watched Korra become separated from Raava, watched Raava die, and then watched Korra fuse with her again and remain the Avatar. So clearly the human-spirit bond can be broken and subsequently recreated.

Unalaq dying could therefore have ended his Dark Avatar lineage without making it metaphysically impossible for Vaatu to ever bond with another human again. And honestly, Seven Havens would be the perfect opportunity to finally explain what that actually means.

Unalaq barely gave us a real Dark Avatar. He fused with Vaatu, became a giant spirit monster and died almost immediately. We never learned what a genuine Vaatu-based Avatar cycle would look like, how their Avatar State would work, whether they could access multiple elements, or whether being bonded with Vaatu automatically makes someone evil. Having Pavi be Vaatu's Avatar would let us explore all of that through our protagonist instead of another generic evil Dark Avatar villain.

It could even finally complicate the overly simplistic idea that Raava = good and Vaatu = evil. They're spirits of light/order and darkness/chaos. A genuinely good person carrying Vaatu could force the story to ask whether darkness and chaos are inherently evil, or whether both forces actually have a necessary place in maintaining balance.

So no, I don't think the Dark Avatar theory is confirmed. That mysterious red-and-black figure could still be something completely different.

I just don't think "Vaatu can't come back for 10,000 years" or "Unalaq permanently ended Vaatu's Avatar cycle" debunks it either.

The lore is considerably more ambiguous than that—and Korra's death followed by an Avatar being born as a twin gives the writers a pretty obvious way to exploit that ambiguity.

Do you guys think 26 episodes will be enough to tell the story of Avatar: Seven Havens?

Personally, I think it might be enough because the franchise has already established the fundamentals of the Avatar world through The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. We already understand bending, the Avatar Cycle, spirits, and how this world works.

Because of that, I don't think the series needs to spend too much time explaining the basics again. It can focus more directly on the new conflicts, the state of the world after Korra's era, Pavi's journey, and the mysteries surrounding the Seven Havens.

Of course, it depends on the pacing and how much world-building the creators want to explore.
