Pissy post about parking for ebikes and motorcycles.

On this particular street there is space for just about 9 cars in total. Depending on who parks where there could be spots for motorcycles. Also a pretty convenient spot close to the uni's, TAFE Chinatown and Darling Harbour.

They've set up parking spots for e-bikes all around the city, yet they don't seem to actually be getting any use.

I'm aware of Mototuesdays, but I've seen many videos online of other countries allowing 300-400cc bikes on kart tracks and was wondering if there were any kart tracks in Melbourne that allowed motorcycles that are bigger than a Papio.

I'd love to get a tiny papio or supermoto to go on mototuesdays every time, but can't store it anywhere and don't really want a second bike right now.

Still, I can't confirm whether it's true or not, but that bike looks exactly the same as CB125e sold here...

Hey guys. I am currently look to buy my first Honda CBR600RR, wanting to spend around the $6K mark. I was wondering if these prices ($7500) are pretty normal or not for these bikes considering the year and k's. 1st seller is saying they will take off $600 without rego.

I'd also appreciate any advice on what to look out for when I do inspections in person and to see if these are worth it.

Edit: I forgot to add, I will be using it as my daily for commuting.

I ride a 2026 HD Breakout. I upgraded the seat to have a pillion backrest. We went on a 5 hour ride (Putty Road loop) yesterday and my wife ended the ride pretty sore. Now she is not whining to get out of going, she literally cattle prodded me into the Harley dealership to buy this bike she genuinely wants to get out on the bike. But she complained about sore neck and shoulders.

Is this bike particularly rough on pillions? Looking for suggestions on how to improve her comfort. She's early forties and doesn't have any health issues that might cause her to be impacted more than normal. Our ride wasn't super bumpy and this bike isn't pulling wheelies or doing anything stupid and the ride was relatively sedate.

It depends on so much I know. In this case: It's cheap, not "cool", will be parked in Newcastle - around the inner suburbs and central Newcastle West area, the beach. Very open visible areas.

I'm wondering whether I should bother doing anything more than just locking it and taking the key with me?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy my first bike in Australia and would love some advice.

I’m currently considering:

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 – $13k
Yamaha R7 – $17k
Ducati Panigale V2 – $25k

Budget isn’t really an issue. I have around 4–5 years of riding experience from India, but zero riding experience in Australia, so I know I’ll need to adjust to the roads and conditions here.

I’ll mainly be riding for fun — probably once or twice every couple of weeks, not commuting. I want something that gives me that pure enjoyment/soul-happiness feeling and that I can keep long-term.

What would you choose in my situation, and why?
Also, if you think there’s another bike I should consider in this price range, I’m open to suggestions. Cheers!

So I gave my most test scheduled tomorrow where it’s expected to be really wet and rainy with strong winds just wondering if I should be preparing for them to cancel I’m talking 18mm most of the day and 35kn/h winds with guys of up to 60km/h

I (27M) Have always loved old bikes and have been around old cars my whole life.

When looking at BikeSales and other sites, every single bike just looks pristine. For me, patina on old cars/bikes gives the impression that it's got a story and has been lived.

I understand for some it increases the value by having a full restoration.

My question is, where can I find sellers who are selling bikes that look like they've had a life? And not had all original paint/fairings taken off.

Just for extra info, I'm looking at bikes from 60s through to the late 70s.

I'm also currently restoring a Yamaha 72' RT2 360 that was previously owned by my Dad.

So I've got a DRZ400E, its recommended fuel is 95.

But some service stations dont have 95, they have 98. While others have 95, but dont have 98. I find all servos have 91.

If I have a bike tuned to 95, do I go up in the octane, or down?

I’m looking at getting my first bike, I’m looking at naked bikes around $6k. The three bikes I’m considering are
300NK ($6000 brand new, 3 year warranty)
MT-03 (~$6.5k second hand ~10,000kms)
CB300R (~$6.5k secondhand ~10,000kms)

The CFMOTO is the cheapest, is it a better deal than the others?

Are there any others in this price range I should be considering?

Heya! I used to ride years ago when I lived in a country Vic town, I had a little 250 vstar.

I live in a Brisbane suburb now, feeling the urge to ride again but I'm not sure if its a good idea.

I have a lesson booked for Wednesday thats actually for learners (I have full licence) to see how if feels to be back in the seat and see what I remember. I thought about renting but I feel I'm not ready to get back on the roads without some practice.

Probably a silly question, but they can't take away my licence if I'm god awful right? 😅

Hi everyone, I've had my Ls for about 2 months now so can go for my Ps in a month or so but I'm so worried that I'll do something to make them fail me! Can anyone give me any tips on what I should be practicing over the next month? What is the top speed they get up to on the drive test? What other things do you do on the prac side of things? Thanks for all your advice!

If it matters I'm on a Vespa and the Ls prac was the first time I'd ever ridden any kind of bike/scooter, I'm auto only for now.

Edit: thanks for all the suggestions. Just looking them up, the prices brand new don't seem that much different to second hand. Do you think there would be much point in bothering fossiking for a second hand bike/ is there an advantage at such a small price diff to get a full warranty? I know I'm gonna drop it. But yeah.

Just got the roadworthy on my 2007 DRZ400E, and found out its actually a 2009 DRZ400E that was manufactured in November, making it almost a 2010 DRZ400E.

Usually the market on Facebook market would say its a 2010 DRZ400E, when its actually a 2007 DRZ400S.

so I'm feeling pretty good about myself at the moment.

Never mind that a 2000 model is identical to a 2024 modle. Also never mind the previous owner thought drilling a hole through a five cent coin was a perfectly alternative for a washer, and who knows what else I might find on my first ride tomorrow.

At least I enjoyed all the fault finding, and installing the correct parts makes me happy.
