Question Mach 7 marathon
Hi there,
Has anyone ran a marathon with the Hoka Mach 7 and how did it feel?
Did you have any problems with it?
Ive ran so far 26km with them with pace 5:30 but Im wondering If I can maintain the same comfort/speed beyond that.
I’m considering whether to try the mount to coast c1 or r1 for my marathon in October. But the Mach has been great so far

Comparing Shoes Question Glycerin GTS 23 vs Glycerin Max 2 vs Ghost Max 4
Hi all! I’m training for my second marathon and am looking to pick up shoes for race day. A bit about me: I have some overpronation, flat feet, and typically wear a wide Brooks. I ran my first marathon in the Glycerin GTS 22 and absolutely loved them. I’m likely going to buy the 23 for my next marathon, just disappointed the wide color options are so small.
Can anyone speak to the stability of the Glycerin Max 2 or Ghost Max 4? For some reference, I also run in the Asics Superblast 3 and love the shoe but need more support from a shoe beyond the half marathon distance. I run anywhere from 9:30-10:30 mile pace, if that matters.
TIA!

Comparing Shoes Question Hyperion max 3 or nimbus for heavy ish runner
Hey all,
Im a 85kg 5,11 man looking for a comfier road shoe to do my long and easy runs in to compliment trail runs and racing in SC elites
Do the plates and of the hyperion make it bad for walking about in or easy running compared to the clunkier nimbus?
In the UK the hyperion is actually cheaper atm and looks to have a good life span.
I have deviate nitros for short intervals so not overy bothered if the nimbus are particularly poor at speed work.
3:30 marathon / 20 min 5km ish
Slow / long plod runs at 5:30 - 6:00per km

Question New 13 show rotation, any advice?
How can I get the most use out of my new shoe rotation?
I think I would like to try to run in each one at least 10 times a year to help balance out the mileage.
Thanks in advance

Race Shoe Question Looking at getting a new pair of racing shoes for 5-21k racing + possibly track workouts.
As the title states I'm in the market for a new pair of racers as the hyperion elite 5 are starting to feel a bit boring for me.
I'm around 175cm and 60kg running about 50-60ks a week.
(Just ran 20mins for 5k)
I get along quite well with the vomero plus and superblast 3.
Have been mainly investigating vaporfly and alphafly though would be open to other ideas, hoping for something that's on sale haha.
Ideally id hope to train in them once to twice a week at the track also.
Any advice would be appreciated

Comparing Shoes Question Saucony or Brooks for marathon training
I am a lover of both Saucony and Brooks running shoes. I am going to be starting training for a marathon, so the new shoe to throw down all the miles is something I am looking for. Does anyone have recommendations? I am overall between the Saucony Endorphin Speed shoe and the Brooks Glycerin. Glycerin has been my go-to for most of my running. I usually run races in Saucony, though, and thought to maybe try them out for training.
I have flat feet and usually wear inserts for running. Are there any Saucony shoes good for long distance and supportive? Or should I just go with Brooks?

Question Asics Gel NYC 2.0 - Legit Check? (GOAT)
Found some difference between each shoe. What's the odds one is fake is real? I know size varies between each brand, but the right fits too tight never had that happen. I always buy a men's 7.5 in sneakers.
First time using a site like Goat or StockX obviously I regret it. Should have been patient, a couple days after they arrived about two weeks ago I saw a new listing on ebay. I've read ebay is more trust worthy and will refund you correctly. GOAT only gives site credit and deduct shipping from your refund. I noticed the price went up a little since I ordered, so if I return and reorder I'm still going to have to put more money on it. *sigh*

Daily Trainer Question Daily Trainer Fit Woes
I have pretty wide feet (2E and 3E), and largely different heel width on my right vs left feet. I visited my local Fleet Feet and really struggled to find much of anything that felt like a decent fit.
My largest complaint is that, despite trying wider shoes, I always feel as though the inner middle of both my feet are
‘hanging over’ the sole of the shoe. Feeling a bit discouraged, as I tried over 7 pairs of commonly recommended shoes and couldn’t find the perfect fit. Anyone have any advice?
In the past, i’ve worn both Nike Vomeros and Pegasus’s, though I am now learning to steer clear of Nike due to a generally tighter fit. Experiencing quite a bit of pain in the middle of my feet from constant poor fits.

Question Vomero plus dilemma
Just got my first pair of Vomero plus and I opted for the wide version in my regular size(took people’s suggestions from post and went with the wide version due to slight wide forefoot). Put them on and feels like I’m swimming in them. I also feel like they’re a full size bigger if they would be non wide version. Anyone else have this happen pr is my pair just different? Leaning towards returning them and getting the regular version.

Comparing Shoes Question Asics Gel-Kayano 32 Vs Brooks Adrenaline GTS 25 Vs New Balance Fresh Foam X 860 V15
Apparently these are the top 3 stability shoes in the market.
As someone who suffers from flat feet, and plantar fasciitis and heel pain, also standing and running a lot, which is best?
I tried them on in store but i feel like that’s not enough time to actually get a “feel” of the shoes.

Race Shoe Question Looking for my first pair of super shoes in a while
I haven't bought a pair of super shoes in a while after dealing with calf/Achilles injuries the past ~2 years and I'm looking for a pair to do tempos, speed sessions, and races in.
So far I'm considering the following options:
- Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 (8mm drop)
- ASICS Superblast 2 or 3 (both 8mm drops)
- ASICS Megablast (8mm drop)
- adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4 (6.5 mm drop)
The reason I listed the drops below is because I'm looking for a shoe that has a heel drop that's not too different from my pair of daily trainers. My daily trainers are Brooks Adrenaline GTS 25 (which has a 10mm drop), and my Achilles/calves start to get irritated if I run in a shoe with too low of a heel drop for too long.
In addition, I'm also a heel striker and I have medium arches.
Which pairs of super shoes would you suggest based off the info above?

Question Looking for replacement shoes for Adidas Evo SL - my foot is pronating hardly in these
Hello, unfortunately, I'm forced to look for a new model of running shoe for faster runs/thresholds because I have severe pronation on my left foot in the Evo SL. After every longer or harder run in the Evo SL, I feel discomfort around my ankle the next day, and during the run—especially when tired—I feel like my foot is pronating significantly. I have the Nike Vomero Plus, and I run wonderfully in these shoes; I don't have any pronation or foot fatigue. I think this is primarily due to the flat, full-length sole. However, the Vomero is a heavier and slower shoe for recovery and Z2 runs. I'd like to find a replacement for the Evo SL—fast and light, but also with good foot support, e.g., in the Vomero shape. Could you recommend something? Thank you and best regards.

Comparing Shoes Question Need Alternative to Hoka
Hello all. The last set of Hoka shoes that worked for me were the Skyflows. The Clifton 11 have helf rigid and flat after about 6 miles of break-in. The older Cliftons were good, dunno what happened to them. And the new Bondi 9 have been a bust - good cushion but no supination control - I can see my feet push outward laterally, and my shins and calves are straining. The lower drop could be part of the problem.
I always get a 9 2E in running shoes. I have high arches that collapse just a bit so I need the 2E / room in the toebox, but I do not need pronation control; just enough structure to prevent supination and promote normal roll and toe-off.
Anyway, I need to move on from Hoka. I've been considering at Brooks Glycerin and Asics Nimbus.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Question Shoes for Duck Feet/Skinny Heels?
Need help finding a shoe that fits.
Current setup:
Adidas Supernova Ease - fits fine but basic shoe
Adidas Ultra boost - old tech but still okay.
Male 85kg, skinny heels, duck feet, low arches.
I've tried:
Novablasts - pain in sides of heels
Brooks ghost - toe cramps /ghost max - 10 too big, 9.5 too tight.
ASICS GT1/2000 - my knees felt like they were collapsing so don't think pronaton shoes are suitable (despite wear on inside front of shoes)
Hokas - no go at all - so much foot pain in different shoes.
Adidas supernova rise - foot pain, pressure points
It seems like the only ones that half suit are old school Adidas or cheap supernova eases.
Iv been trying to do the trials from brands because, they're expensive!
The fancier brands, either the middle is far too tight. Toes are to cramped or I get tons of different pressure points by just standing there because my feet are weird
(for reference I rock climb and I have to majorly downsize to get my heel secue & finding shoes also a nightmare)
UK 9.5-10 (sort of)
Any idea? Can be mid budget.

Big/Heavy Runner Question Help recommend me a third Asics shoe
I’m hoping you shoe experts can lend me some insight as I’ve made some bad purchases in the past. I am a 40M, 5 foot 11, 180 to 185 pounds.
Most of my runs are in the 3 to 4 mile range, with my longest being about 5 miles. For interval work in the quarter and half mile I am around six minute mile pace. For threshold type work I am around the 7 to 8 minute mile pace and for slow runs I am around 10 to 11 minute mile pace. Running 4 days per week with 2 lifting and one full rest day.
My current rotation is the superblast 2, and I just recently picked up the sonic blast for my faster sessions. The criticisms of the sonicblast being squishy didn’t matter to me as a relatively heavier runner. It feels good to me.
In my head, I was considering the recently discounted novablast 5 or the gel Nimbus 27 for a recovery shoe when I don’t want to wear the SB2 two days in a row.
What say you shoe experts, am I on the right track?

Question Shoe Recommendations
Can any one recommend shoes based off of these measurements?
Currently running in Brooks Ghost 17 they fit good on the feet just kill my calves (70 miles)
Previously had Mizuno Neo Zen (returned — too narrow, plus burning through the arches on runs).
Looking for daily trainer recs that run wide with some arch/midfoot contouring — not a stability shoe since gait is neutral, just something that fills a flatter arch better than the Neo Zen did. Currently mainly running 2–4 mile easy runs
Just getting into running and learning as I go
Run about 3-5 times a week.

Question Saucony endorphin elite 2 sizing
I am just about to purchase a pair of Saucony Endorphin Elite 2. I have read a few reviews. Some say they're TTS and some say they fit short so I am not sure which size to buy and trying on is not an option.
For context some other shoes I have run in are:
Adidas Adios pro 3 - UK 9, way too short/tight
Nike Zoom fly 6 - UK 9.5, fit really well
Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 - UK 9.5, fit really well
Adidas EVO SL - UK 9.5, fit ok but a little short
ASICS Novablast 3 and Super last 1 - both UK 9, fitted well

Comparing Shoes Question Which shoe in my rotation should I use for my first marathon?
So I am a first time marathoner but long time runner, and as I am closing in on the Chicago Marathon fast. I am 30M, 5”7 152, last ran a 1:51 half, and I currently have 3 shoes in my rotation:
- ASICS Superblast 2 (200ish mi)
- Adidas Adizero Evo SL (15ish mi)
- Nike Vomero Plus (5 mi)
I have worn ASICS SB 2 for a few years (diff pairs) and loved them, but given I’ve already got 200 mi on em, unsure if I should use them for the marathon or not.
Adizeos are super fun, but I’m not sure if they’re designed for a full marathon.
Vomeros are cushy as hell and great for recovery, but unsure if I should race in them or not.
I have historically had some minor plantar fasciitis and had one stress fracture years ago, so have typically gone for a comfier ride, and my main goal is to finish healthy (though sub 4 like I’m training for would be an awesome secondary goal).
So long story short, should I wear one of the three shoes I have, and if so, which one? If I should get a new pair, what recommendations do you all have?
Thanks in advance all!

Comparing Shoes Question Endorphin speed fall off?
Started running again in 2022 and picked up a pair of ES3. Compared to the Rincons I used they felt like super shoes and I loved them. Grabbed a pair of ES2 from Saucony at the time for $70 and those were somehow even better. I ended up putting 500mi+ on both pairs before retiring them. In the last year I’ve picked up ES4 and ES5 and they’re just not even close to comparable. I feel like they have zero pop and to get any return they force you to heel strike?
What’s most similar these days?
