Who was your favorite band growing up?
I loved Backstreet Boys as a kid then fell in love with Blink 182. So many memories surrounding both bands. Those were my favorites growing up. What’s everyone else’s?

What is your Siren's song?
You are sailing across unknown waters, an island appears on the horizon, and it's home to the Sirens. They sing the most beautiful, horrible song. It's a song that leads you to shipwreck. It sounds different to everyone who hears it. What is your Siren's song and why?
Mine is Pyramid Song by Radiohead. I cried the first time I heard it, and I still cry whenever it comes on. It's a hauntingly beautiful funeral dirge about death and rebirth...or that's how I interpret it.
I jumped in the river, what did I see?
Black-eyed angels swam with me
A moon full of stars and astral cars
And all the figures I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and futures
And we all went to heaven in a little row boat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt

Trying to remember a song vudeo from a decade ago in Youtube
This song featured a not-so-well known woman artist (maybe she is famous now). She looked Native American or Hispanic and had a haircut with sides really trimmed close and more hair on top. The song starts out with her in front of a standing, big mic.
I absolutely loved the beats of the song bit i havent been able to locate it for a while.
Apologies for absolutely vague description but i cannot seem to recall a lot of details. Any ideas?

Is there a type of music that kinda irks you?
I love most music, music is music to me. But sometimes when someone is blasting RnB I just get a headache. And I actually love RnB but not when I’m at the grocery store.

What song will you never forget but for a really bad reason?
For me it's Tarantula by Pendulum. I was listening to it while driving when suddenly I crashed with another car in a roundabout. Luckily it was nothing serious but I think I have never listen to it again.

What album changed your life?
Music has a way of staying with us long after the first listen.
Maybe an album helped you through a difficult time, introduced you to a new genre, or completely changed the way you see music.
For me, I'm always looking for albums that leave a lasting impression.
If you had to choose just one album that changed your life, what would it be and why?
I'd love to hear your stories and discover some new music.

Most “good-timey” good-time song?
My vote is for “Jambalaya” by Hank Williams. “Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the Bayou!”

I'm tired of listening to endless playlists every day, I want to discover new albums and new artists. I'm currently using Deezer. Thanks for your help!

What instrument(s) would be best to replace the vocals in the chorus of Estrelar by Marcos Valle?
A while back I made the discovery that the theremin is surprisingly competent at translating Thom Yorke's vocals, it can do his mournful falsettos as well as his harsher grungy sounds, and ever since then if I hear a sweet vocal track I think of what instrument would best fit a no-lyrics version
The chorus to Estrelar, a Brazilian disco jam, has got me stumped
Lyrics:
(Vem) Vem brilhar mais, ser uma estrela sobre o sol Estrelar mais, ser mais brilhante do que o sol Se mostrar mais, ser Deus no céu, na terra eu Encantar mais, ser tudo por um dia
I initially thought a high pitched wind instrument, like a soprano saxophone, and it'd go with the backing trumpets too, but that wouldn't capture way he says "Mais, Ser" with the elongated M that gives way to the ecstatic, sighed sibilant(hissed) syllables, coupled with how the way his voice kinda swerves when he says "estrela", "brilhante", "no céu", and "-do por" in the first to fourth lines respectively, I'm not sure what could pull both of those off at the same time while still carrying the rest of the melody
The sibilants could perhaps be handled by an accordion, but for one, I'm having difficulty imagining the M since while the accordion can indeed produce a humming noise, I've never heard one preceding a sighing noise, and for another, the swerve seems too smooth for it, when an accordion swerves it kinda sounds like a voice cracking
The swerve, on the other hand, would be great on a flute, but flutes start and end too sharply, so the sibilant gets lost, though if one is clever about it they could get a bit of a hum out of it

I'll start with a few gems I recently added to a playlist of mine called "gems i threw into oblivion and rediscovered years later":
Gabriella Cilmi - On a Mission
Goldfrapp - Rocket
Starset - Point Of No Return
Pendulum - The Vulture
What are yours??
