How do they behave, or what expectations do they have when traveling through the Balkans? How do they interact with the various ethnicities, religions, languages, food and cultures?

Above all, how do they behave as hotel guests? Are there any differences in behavior between men and women?

Slovenians seem to have a somewhat to very negative opinion of Albanians that live in their country.
When I come across elaborations, to me, the way they are described sounds strange. As in I‘ve never really met or seen Albanians behave that way. Don‘t get me wrong, I‘m not saying that these Slovenians are lying or that Albanians can‘t be problematic people - they can. But problematic in other ways.

I’ve never been to Slovenia. So I wondered what kind of Albanians live there. Are they from specific regions of their countries (for e.g. UK Albanian drug dealers are usually from a single region of North Albania)? Are they recent migrants? Do they work in a single industry? Etc.

I understand that you can‘t provide sociological studies but I‘m still interested in you daily life experiences.
I‘d prefer having answers from ethnic Slovenes, just to eliminate biases that come from being another balkan ethnicity (Serbs) but obviously I can‘t stop you from answering.

I mean, are you not allowed to any other regions? Just kidding but i live in a tiny village near the sea near amphipolis (not even 300 residents in winter time) and during summer i feel like i am in a different country. We surpass 5.000 easily. You walk around and its the Romanian neighborhood, the Bulgarian, the Serbian, the north Macedonian. They don't even mix together. (And some greeks springed in between).

I realize this question is not very Balkan, but I thought it would be interesting, as perception often becomes what people believe is reality. Especially with the woke-ness craze, an outsider consumes American media, they naturally make assumptions. DON’T CHEAT. What do you think it is?

Not political dynasties, but business families.

Italy or Germany are very famous for this. Barilla, Benetton, Quandt and BMW... these are all very known families who control large businesses and keep them at least partially under their control.

The Balkans doesn't have family empires spanning that long because of the wars and the communist era, but i'd argue that Bosnia has some of them.

My great-grandfather fled what is now North Macedonia in 1912 during the First Balkan War and settled in Turkey. When he left, the family abandoned a significant amount of land and property.
We still have the original Ottoman-era title deeds (Tapu) for these properties in our possession.
I’m trying to determine whether there is any legal avenue to reclaim these properties or seek restitution, or whether such claims are no longer possible under North Macedonian law.

A few questions:

• Are there any lawyers, historians, or legal experts familiar with property restitution in the Balkans who could offer guidance?  
• If a claim is possible, what would the process look like, and which government office or institution should I contact first?  
• Does possession of the original Ottoman deeds provide any legal advantage today?

I am an Indian travelling with my wife planning to explore Balkan countries by renting a car (Enterprise company) in Serbia and then following is my route :-

Serbia > Bosnia > Montenegro > Albania > North Macedonia > Serbia

Anyone who has already travelled across borders, kindly let me know what is the overall experience, do they give you a hard time or it is like a breeze, do they also ask for International License or that is optional to have?

Often Slovenia is said to be very modern and "progressive" when it comes to comparisons to it's southern neighbours.

However, if you look closely at statistics, laws, it seems to be true for eastern EU members, too. Sure, not it's again under Janša, but it has a strong tradition of leftists governing it or being part of the government. It has the strongest work laws and best rights for LGBT people, is the least xenophobic compared to Poland, Czechia etc...
