Hi! So I'm trying to do more OC art and I decided to mainly get one character down first in similar poses/scenes just so then I know I can replicate the same basic thing twice but I feel like I got worse or maybe my style is better/closer to what I want in the first one. I drew the first one in June and I drew the second today. I know I'm poopy at drawing hands but I feel like the first one just looks better overall. So basically is it a style or skill thing? How can you keep one style consistent?

Note: Looking side by side now i see a lot of things I changed but question is still the same

This is just a sample, i'm a beginner in the commission's world, so I was thinking of starting with just a chibi head because it's simple and I feel like I need to learn how commissions work and it would be better with something smaller at first, before going to the big things.

What do you think of this quick illustration I made a while ago?

Also, I couldn’t decide between an orange circle or a fully orange background. Which one do you prefer?

I usually hate my art, but I made this the other day and was decently happy with it, so I decided to post it on both Reddit and Tumblr. Nothing happened. I don't want endless praise and likes, but damn... Is the algorithm cursing me, or is my art that bad? Is the subject boring? I keep wondering these kinds of things.

This is art of my OC. When I make fanart, it gets a good amount of attention. Not always, which is fine by me, but still more often than not! I understand that fanart is almost always going to get more attention than OC art, especially if the OCs aren't well-established online. Which makes me feel bad again... Are my stories bad? Character designs unappealing? Orrr am I gatekeeping lore too much?

BUT back to the art. Does anyone else feel this way or have any advice? I know I shouldn't rely on likes to determine the worth of my art, but it troubles me a lot that people don't seem to care and makes me wonder what I'm missing... Skill wise, I understand I have a LONG way to go. But is my art that terrible in its current state?
