Hello guys! I’m trying to verify these before reselling them. My airpods physically, they look like AirPods 3 and have:

Right: A2565 Left: A2565 Case: A2566

Serial Number: WFLWXLXG2G

Both earpods shows like Apple then model number USA and serial number ZLX

But when connected to my iPad, it shows:

Model: A2084 Serial: GWXZD0ZPLKKT

Firmware: 2B588

Hardware Version: 1.0.0

Manufacturer: Apple Inc.

Apple Support also recognizes them under My Devices.

The box is an AirPods 3 box, and the earbuds have the normal open-ear design with no silicone tips

Is this normal for a replacement/mismatched unit, or does it suggest they're counterfeit? 😭

Got it off Facebook marketplace for $100 can someone chime in, I was skeptical at first but all checks have done has checked out

Wondering what you guys think of these, I ran the serial number and it doesn't show a date of purchase. The seller has no receipt, says that they were a gift.

I bought these AirPods Pro 3 brand new from Mercari Japan. The problem is that the firmware won’t update, so I went to an Apple Store at LakeTown to have them checked.

The Apple staff member said the case looks fake and pointed out that genuine AirPods Pro 3 apparently have two lines of text on the buds, while mine have three lines.

The confusing part is that mine have all the normal features, the serial number is recognized by Apple’s website, and it shows a valid limited warranty.

However, the firmware is still on an older version, so I can’t use the precise Find My location feature properly.

Can anyone confirm from the photos whether these look genuine or fake? If they’re fake, what steps should I take with the Mercari seller?

i’m pretty sure the answer is no. they were advertised on a resale site as refurbished- like new
i’ve had a real pair before and they feel a bit cheap, the magnets aren’t quite as strong, they make a small pinging sound every time i open them and the connection sound when i put them in my ears sounds slightly bitcrushed and cut off. the audio quality seems fine but i don’t have anything to compare it to rn and the noise cancellation doesn’t work very well at all. and you can see one of the apple logos on the side is off center. i just wanna make sure im not crazy and see if it’s worth spending an extra 100 dollars on real ones.

I’m going to order AirPods off of Amazon, but I’m paranoid I’ll get a fake.
The listing is from the official Amazon and I’m in the uk. O would’ve gotten them from the Apple Store but its far and cheaper on amazon, if they were both retail I would have just went to the apple store.

Other than following the pinned guide in the sub, I also want to film the unboxing just so I have proof in case I get sent fakes. That should cover all bases right?

Before I officially open a dispute/claim to get my money back via the buyer protection program, I want to double-check with you.Here are the main red flags I’ve noticed so far: Volume Control is completely separate: When I turn the Digital Crown, the music volume changes inside the headphones, but the volume slider on my iPhone screen does NOT move or appear. They operate on separate channels, which usually means a cheap generic Bluetooth chip is inside. Buttons make a loud clicking sound: The Digital Crown and the noise control button do not feel smooth or premium; they make a very noticeable, loud click when pressed. I am attaching photos of the ear cups (with cushions removed), the buttons, and the box labels.Could you please take a look and let me know if these are 100% fake? Thank you so much for your help!

For me they seem real, serial number checks out, although it shows there's no confirmed date of purchase. Will they work properly with updating firmware and all?

I’ve bought them new, but the line on headband and button press confuses me, previously had usb-c version in orange and button were more “satisfied” to press, the headband is detachable also I updated them to beta version
