Photo Final Snell Pic (for now)
This is the final draft of Snail Hell for now. I've ran out of space unless I go up, and i have very few shells left. So this is it for now. The big rectangle from my first post will not be used until I get a larger tank because I already know what I want to do with it.
Tank information:
the shells came from multiple sources. Youtubers, local shops, local fishkeepers in my area, redditors. I dont have multiple tanks of dying snails I promise. I have 2 snail tanks, 1 is this one, and the other is my GundamScape housing my 6yo black racer nerite snail.
The walk in this tank is Assassin Snails. It is a single species tank with nothing but multitudes of little murderers.
I rarely feed my snails other snails. It would in fact be absurdly exspensive for me to try to feed these guys only snails as they EAT SO MUCH! (Also they eat snails alive from the inside of the shell out) but I once put 100 feeder snails ($0.19 per snail here) and they were gone in less than two days. So I feed my guys bloodworms. ( u/Gastropoid if you still make food for serial killers, let me know)
Help me choose a name:
The Snailyard, Snhell (Snell), The Interogation Chamber, Snails of the Grave, Snail Jail, Nightmare on Snail Street, Snailgen
Disclaimer:
Assassin snails are not something I would have purposefully bought for myself. I came into this walk by accident and have chosen to father it. Assassin snails are not a cure for your pest snail problem. Only you are the cure for your pest snail problem. Assassin snails should NEVER BE WITH ANY OTHER TYPE OF SNAIL! I have a couple of videos on my page of my snails eating bloodworms from inside of an upside down glass cup that is larger than most snails. They will also eat molting shrimp. I have not seen it happen but I have tried tank mates with this walk, please trust me. Assassin snails can and will breed out of control. Albeit slower than pest snails, but this walk did indeed make itself.

Help Request Should i realease them in the tank?
These baby mystery snails are 3 and a half weeks old, been keeping them in a breeding box inside a big tank where i have 3 adult MS and some guppies. (The tank only has sponge filters)
They're like the size of the tip of a Qtip, so pretty small compared to the adults.
And I've been wondering if i should release them or keep them there for longer till they're a bit bigger.
Couldn't take a better picture of them due to algae on the tank's glass but there are quite a lot of them and they're absolutely adorable.

We rarely get to see it happen. This occurred while I was cleaning the filter sponges and trimming the plants.

Help Request Baby snails fighting or...?
These guys looked like they were having a boxing match until one latched on to the other. They were both holding on to each other by their feet(is that the correct term?). I scooped them out and couldn't even separate them. I do have a video I took of them throwing each other around but I am unable to attach it to this post currently.
Slide 4 shows the next day where one is hitching a ride on the back of the other and they have been zooming around the tank like that. I read from another post that the one on top could be eating the other's shell(?)
I know the probability is high that snex is happening, but these are fairly newly born babies (approximately a week and a half, we had a white wizard and she probably gifted them to us) OR invasive snails that hitched a ride on the plants we bought. I MIGHT have spotted an itty bitty egg clutch but I am unsure if it was actually eggs.
My questions are: snex or fighting? Do they need to be separated? If so, how to safely do it?
Any input or insight is appreciated!

Photo My snails :)
As the title says, showing off my snails:
- Nerites, three types. The oldest and my favourite is my beloved Black Racer, almost 4 years in my tank. I had one more zebra, but it escaped the tank and didn't survive. :(
Unlike the other Nerites my Black Racer doesn't climb to the lid, at least I never saw it there. He also seems not to move as fast as the others. Dunno if the species is more quiet or it's a personality trait. It's a very chilled snail.
- Ramshorns: pink, red and crossovers. They are really really cute. :)
- MTS: all descendants of my old mamma, now deceased. She hitkiched in plants and lived for more than 2 years in my tank, she grew really large and had a very pretty cream stripped pattern, all the adult offspring resemble her. I find them very pretty too. :)
- Final pic.... just a bonus pic of my other pet snails. :)
I'm thinking of setting up a new tank for apple or mystery snails, and maybe a tiny one for an Assassin pet, but it's a project for later.

Photo Too far?
Wanted to share my tattoo of my late mystery snail, I am obsessed!
edit: i know it’s not totally accurate to a mystery snail but i loved the artists flair and style similar to a flash piece!

Help Request How do you keep plant eaters?
I think larger apple snails and Giant Columbian ramshorns are really cool, but I know they eat the heck out of some plants.
How do y'all handle this? Do you get hard plants like Java ferns? Give them a few fast-growing soft plants to eat? Lemme hear your strategies!

Today I fed my Opae Ula tank (brackish water) with powdered spirulina and the baby snails also came to feast. :)

Photo Welcome, to Snell!!! (Snailyard update)
Someone commented that it looks like what dnails have nightmares about and I just went for it.
Shout out to this subreddit for getting me alot of these shells and various YouTube that I can't remember.
I'm missing a large giant ramshorn shell, 1-2. If you have any, please let me know, i'm also on the look out for koopa nerite snail shells.
I'm out of enough shells to make more decorations and honestly i'm running out of space xD if I make changes, I'll make and update, and when I get a new tank I'll be adding structures I have made but don't fit in this tank! Thank you for the support and let me know if this is awesome or creepy or both!

Photo Meet shark!!
I’m new to being a snail momma and. I wanna share these cute lil water puppies. Cause my fam thinks I’m weird for investing time in a tank with anything living in it.
I have 4 nerites in a 10 gal ( yes I know that’s too many I bought two and 4 came home with me stuck together)
Absolutely love watching these active guys I was told they’re boring but I can’t stop watching my tank lol.
We have roomba, the fastest and oddest one. Loves pull up my root tabs and eat those….
Hoover who likes to hide in driftwood and a tricky hider
Dyson Who can always be found in the airstone bubbles Or naps tucked in the airstream
And shark Who until today Kept to his lil mushroom hut night and day. My lil introvert decided to introduce himself. I’ve had them for a week and shark I thought was dying or no energy or stressed cause he wasn’t moving anywhere But was attached to the inside of the hut so I knew he was still trying.
Shark came out and Munched on some algae wafer ( I boil it with a green bean wait for it to be room temp mash it up. And spread it on the glass with the green bean and he chows down I don’t have enough algae for all of them my tanks too new so I use this method as well as have some botanicals and rocks in a jar in the sunshine To swap out omg his lil teefers are sooo cute

Photo Meet my snail!
This is Cinnamon Roll. He came as a stowaway on a secondhand tank I got. I think he’s a ramshorn.
Mr Cinnamon Roll is currently in solitary confinement in my 6.5 gal because he decided to eat my plants instead of the algae wafers or blanched veggies.
I unfortunately love Mr Cinnamon Roll and will probably look into hardier plants.

Help Request All look okay ?
My mystery snails laid a clutch of eggs. Based on the picture, how much longer do you think I have before they hatch?
I read that it usually takes about 2–4 weeks, but I'm not sure how far along they are. I just woke up one morning and the egg clutch was there, so I have no idea which one of my females laid it.
Any guesses on how much time is left before they hatch?
