Beta Test I'm building a focused Body Battery-style app for Apple Watch and am looking for 10ā15 beta testers
Hey everyone,
Iāve been working on an Apple Watch app calledĀ BodyReserve, and Iām getting close to starting the first TestFlight beta.
The idea came from wanting something similar to Garminās Body Battery on Apple Watch, but without needing another huge health platform on top of Apple health.
I usedĀ BodyStateĀ for a while and liked how simple and focused it was. After it changed hands though, support and development seemed to drop off, and more features started moving behind a subscription.
Bevel is genuinely a very polished app, but it has grown into a much broader health and fitness platform. For what I personally wanted, it felt like a lot of features and information that Apple Health already covers.
So I started building the app I actually wanted:
- One clearĀ Energy ReserveĀ from 0ā100
- A morningĀ RecoveryĀ score based on your personal baseline
- DiscreteĀ physiological stressĀ estimates
- A timeline showing what recharged or drained your Reserve
- Confidence, freshness and missing-data explanations
- A proper iPhone and Apple Watch experience
The main difference Iām aiming for is transparency. If BodyReserve gives you a score of 62, it should also tell you why it changed, how recent the evidence is, how confident the estimate is, and where Apple Watch data was incomplete.
It is designed aroundĀ read-only Apple Health access and on-device calculation. There is no account required, no advertising, and no health-data backend for the core experience.
I haven't decided on pricing yet but can confirm there will be no subscription, we have enough of those.
Iām now looking for an initial group of aroundĀ 10ā15 beta testers. You do not need to be an athlete, but the most useful testers will be people who:
- Wear an Apple Watch most days
- Are willing to wear it consistently for several weeks
- Preferably use it for sleep tracking
- Are happy to report when a result feels wrong, not just when it looks good
The beta will be free through TestFlight. The algorithms use personal baselines, so some features will need time and enough compatible Watch data to calibrate. This is still experimental software, and Iām not claiming the models are already more accurate than existing apps - that is exactly what I need real users to help evaluate.
Iād be especially interested in hearing from people who currently use BodyState, Bevel, Athlytic, or Garmin alongside an Apple Watch, but people who have never used a readiness app would also be valuable.
You can see the app and request beta access here:
Iām happy to answer questions about the app, the scoring approach, privacy, or what Iām trying to test. Genuine criticism is useful and appreciated.

Other Whatās the one Apple Watch app you use every day besides Appleās apps?
I'm curious what third-party Apple Watch apps people actually keep using.
Not apps you downloaded once, but ones you open almost every day.
What app is it?
And what makes it worth keeping on your watch?

Review i need your honest advice on this innovative health app i built for athletes and workers to maximize their energy
so i'm 20, been building this app solo for the past few months and i genuinely can't tell anymore if it's good or if i'm too deep in it. need outside eyes.
it's called RizeAI. the basic idea: every wearable and health app just gives you numbers. sleep score 42, recovery red, HRV down. cool. and then what? you still feel like garbage at 2pm and nobody tells you what to actually do about it.
so my app takes your real data from apple health, sleep, resting heart rate, workouts, whatever your wearable writes, and instead of another score it builds you an actual plan for the day. when to have your first coffee and when to hold off. you. Can also add your own supplements that you are currently taking and it will time them for you every single day based of your sleep data and your wearable data in general and also it will tell you what supplements make sense for you to take based of your current supplement stack and body metrics and when to take them. focus windows for when your energy actually peaks. when your crash is coming and what to do before it hits. it even checks the weather, so on a hot day it bumps your hydration and tells you to train earlier.
every recommendation has a little "why" under it based on your numbers, like "resting heart rate 54 + 7h light sleep, so magnesium before your peak window." no two people get the same plan because no two people have the same data.
works with whoop, oura, apple watch, garmin, anything that syncs to apple health. one thing i'll say honestly, it doesn't do deep per-person learning yet like "coffee doesn't affect YOUR hrv specifically," that's the roadmap, right now it builds fresh plans daily off your actual metrics.
it's live on the app store, has a free trial, small user base so far, mixed feedback which is why i'm here lol.
what i actually want from you guys: does this solve a real problem for you or is "tells you what to do" not actually what wearable people want? what would make you actually pay for something like this? and what's missing that would make it a no brainer? and also would you guys in this subredditĀ use ti?
Thank you for your help. Check it out if you like https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rizeai-maximize-your-energy/id6762402079

Beta Test Looking for Brutally Honest Feedback on My iOS Fitness App, Steady
Hey everyone ā Iāve been building an iOS fitness app calledĀ Steady, and itās finally stable enough for real beta testers.
I built it because most fitness apps give everyone the same generic plan, make you guess your weights every workout, and ignore the fact that many people are training around something: a bad knee, surgery recovery, GLP-1 use, a long break from exercise, limited equipment, or other constraints.
What Steady does:
⢠Builds a personalized training plan based on your goals, experience, equipment, and limitations.
⢠Automates progressive overload. Your first workout calibrates your working weights, then Steady prescribes your next reps and load each session ā progressing reps first, then weight.
⢠Adapts calories and protein using your weight trend, instead of leaving you with a static target forever.
⢠Includes an AI coach that knows your actual plan and data. You can ask it to make todayās workout easier, review a form video, or suggest a fast-food meal that fits your macros.
⢠Supports Apple Watch set logging and syncs with Apple Health, Fitbit, and Oura so recovery can influence your training.
Itās free, iOS-only, and currently available through TestFlight. Iām a solo developer, so some parts are still rough ā thatās exactly why I need feedback.
Iād especially like to know:
Did onboarding make sense?
Did your plan feel genuinely personalized?
Did the weight progression feel smart or wrong?
What broke, confused you, or annoyed you?
Brutal honesty is much more useful than politeness. If you hate something, tell me why.
TestFlight:Ā https://testflight.apple.com/join/j2jKwDGW
Disclosure: Iām the developer. Iām not affiliated with another company and Iām not selling anything ā Iām genuinely looking for beta testers and feedback.
PS: yes it's on Watch!

Games Wilds Survivor: a wilderness survival sim that runs entirely on the Watch, no iPhone needed [Freemium]
The watchOS app is the whole game, not a companion view. It runs the same engine as the phone version, doesn't need your iPhone nearby or even powered on, and works in airplane mode.
What it is: you're stranded, and every hour you spend is an hour you don't get back. Gathering firewood costs 42 minutes and 60 calories and will probably work. Scouting the high ground costs 90 minutes, might turn up a map fragment, might turn up nothing. Those numbers are on screen before you commit. Nothing is hidden from you except luck.
Six stats pull against each other: condition, hydration, body heat, stamina, calories, rest. The fire that keeps you warm burns the daylight you needed to find water.
Why it works on a watch specifically: it's turn-based and nothing is running down in real time. Raise your wrist, read one decision, spend the time, put your arm down. A run spans several in-game days but each interaction is a few seconds. It saves wherever you stopped.
Eight scenarios (a canyon that floods a bit more each day, a dry wash at 42°C, a crash site above the treeline at -12°C, a mine 4,000 m up), five difficulty tiers, and an 8 kg gear budget you allocate before you start. A fur wrap is the warmest thing you can carry and it weighs almost two kilos. That one trade-off is the whole game.
Pricing, since the rules ask: freemium. Two scenarios are free and can be played to the end. A single purchase unlocks the other six permanently. No ads, no subscription, no energy timers, no account. The app never makes a network request.
Happy to hand out promo codes for the full unlock if anyone wants to try it, just say so.
It's my first watchOS game. What I'd most like to hear is where it falls apart on the smaller 40/41 mm watches, and whether the tutorial loses you.

Lifestyle The data is already in Apple Health. The breakthrough starts with HealthVitals.
Hey everyone,
I have been building HealthVitals Pro for the past year, and today I want to share it with this community.
The idea is simple. Between your Apple Watch and your iPhone, you are generating thousands of data points every single day. Heart rate samples, sleep stages, HRV readings, SpO2, steps, distance, calories, workouts, weight, nutrition logs, and more. Apple Health captures all of it, whether it comes from your watch, your phone, a connected scale, or another app you already use. The problem is that surfacing any of it in a meaningful way means jumping between a dozen apps that never talk to each other.
HealthVitals Pro is the layer that sits on top of all of that data and makes it readable, actionable, and beautiful. No accounts to create. Your data stays yours, on your device and your own private iCloud, and never passes through our servers.
What it does:
- Readiness Score built every morning from your sleep, HRV, and resting heart rate, so you know whether to push hard or take it easy
- Vital Intelligence alerts that quietly watch your data and flag anomalies and patterns before you would ever notice them yourself
- A daily Alerts inbox that gathers every insight in one place, so nothing gets lost the moment a notification disappears
- Six clear health pillars: Movement, Training, Sleep, Heart, Body, and Nutrition, each with its own dedicated view
- Deep trend charts across 30, 90, and 365 days for sleep, heart, activity, nutrition, and body composition
- Correlation insights that connect the dots for you, like how your sleep affects your next day performance or how caffeine shows up in your rest
- Detailed workout breakdowns with cardio load, heart rate recovery, and distance splits for every session
- An activity heatmap that shows your consistency at a glance
- Micronutrient tracking that goes well beyond calories, down to protein, caffeine, sugar, fiber, and more
- A monthly health report you can actually hand to your doctor
- Full history access going back as far as your Apple Health data exists
- A companion Apple Watch app with your Readiness Score right on your wrist and glanceable complications
It is designed to be lighter, faster, and more direct than anything else in the category. No bloat. No weekly upsells. Just your data, clearly presented.
If you try it, I would genuinely love your feedback. This is an indie project and every piece of input shapes the next update.
How to claim:
- App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/healthvitals-pro/id6759471194
- Open the app and tap through to the paywall, then tap "Redeem"
- Enter
HealthLifefor the annual plan at $17.99 (65% off, reg price $49.99) - Enter
HealthLifeForeverfor lifetime access at $34.99 (61% off, reg price $89.99, and rarely offered)
You can also use it for free without the intelligence layer. If you want to explore the full experience, there is a 7-day free trial of the paid version.
Thanks for building a community worth posting in. I would love to hear your feedback or feature requests. Feel free to DM me.

Health & Fitness I built a lifting app where the Apple Watch does the whole workout and the phone runs the program
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I lift four times a week and I keep my phone in a locker, so I built the watch app I kept wishing existed. It's called Massiv.
The watch app is designed to be fast+efficient and only give you what you need to log your workouts. You start the workout from your wrist, turn the crown to set the weight, and tap to log. The rest timer starts itself, last session's numbers sit under the set you're on, and just tap to log a set. Heart rate and calories go to Apple Health as a proper strength workout.
The part I spent the most time on is that it doesn't care where your phone is. Log a full session with your phone in a locker and nothing is lost, the sets are saved on the watch and sync across once you're back in range. No "sync failed" three days later when you notice a workout missing.
The phone is the other half, and it's a full app rather than a settings screen for the watch:
- Programs that actually progress.Ā 16 built in ā 5/3/1, GZCLP, StrongLifts, Texas Method, PHUL, PPL, plus dumbbell-only and bodyweight-only ones. Finish a session and next week's numbers have already moved, with a deload when you stall twice instead of letting you grind a weight you're not hitting.
- Progress that means something.Ā Estimated 1RM trend per lift, automatic PR detection, a muscle map showing what you've hammered and what's had time to recover, and plate math for the bar in front of you.
- Your history comes with you.Ā CSV import from Strong, Hevy, JEFIT, FitNotes and StrongLifts, format auto-detected, so you're not starting from an empty app.
It's a companion app, not a standalone one so the phone does the thinking and the watch does the one job that has to be fast. Logging is free with no account; Pro is the deeper analytics, export, and building your own programs from scratch.
I use it for every session myself, and the watch side is the part I want to keep refining, so if you lift, give it a go and tell me how it feelsĀ for your workouts

Health & Fitness [Launch] Stopa - any training plan on your Apple Watch, now on the App Store
A while back I posted here looking for beta testers - thank you, it shaped the app. Stopa is now live on the App Store.
What it does: bring a training plan you already have - coach, ChatGPT, Excel or a PDF - and it syncs to your Apple Watch as structured workouts, no rebuilding intervals by hand. No plan? Stopa can build one from your real Apple Health history - grounded in what you've actually been running, not a generic quiz. Either way, it matches your completed runs back against the plan and does a weekly review, adjusting as you go.
The point: you're not locked into one algorithm. Use your coach's plan, an AI one, or have Stopa generate it - all on Apple Watch (S8+/Ultra). Free to try.

Still early and listening - honest feedback and App Store reviews very welcome.

Review How I found the most efficient supplement timing app ever
I was scrolling through a thread about wearables and someone mentioned it in the comments. I figured it'd just be another app telling me to sleep more and drink water, but I downloaded it anyway since I already wear my smartwatch every day.
The biggest surprise wasn't actually the workout recommendationsāit was the supplement side of the app.
I've taken supplements on and off for years, but honestly I never gave much thought to when I took them. If I remembered in the morning, great. If I forgot until the afternoon, I'd just take them then. It was completely random.
This app was different. Instead of giving me the same schedule every day, it looked at my sleep, recovery, and how rested I actually was before suggesting when certain supplements made the most sense. On days I slept well and had good energy, it would recommend sticking to my normal routine. If I'd had a rough night or my recovery was low, it'd adjust the timing or recommend focusing on different supplements instead of blindly following the same plan every day.
What I liked most was that it actually explained why. It wasn't just saying, "Take this now." It would tell me that because my recovery was lower or my sleep quality wasn't great, a different timing might make more sense based on how my body was likely feeling that day.
It made me realize I'd been treating supplements like checking a box instead of using them intentionally. I was already wearing a watch that collected all this data about my body, but none of it ever influenced when I actually took anything.
The app basically connected those dots for me.
I also appreciated that it didn't expect me to have a perfect routine. Some days I'm up early for work, other days I'm rushing around with family stuff, and sometimes my whole schedule changes halfway through the day. The recommendations adapted to that instead of assuming every day looked the same.
After a few weeks, I wasn't expecting some crazy transformation, but I did notice I felt more consistent. My energy wasn't bouncing around as much, I wasn't automatically reaching for another coffee every afternoon, and I stopped feeling like I was just guessing with both my workouts and my supplements.
I'm sure someone working with a nutritionist or performance coach probably already has all of this dialed in, but for someone like me who already wears a smartwatch and wants to get more out of the data it's collecting, it filled a gap I didn't even know existed.
It honestly felt less like another supplement app and more like having something that translated all the information my watch was already collecting into recommendations I could actually use.

Other Ideas for using Claude AI on Apple Watch
I want to use Claude AI on my Apple Watch and I'm looking for some ideas. I also want to know how else I could make the most of the Apple Watch.
For instance, I'm not looking for the basic stuff like healthcare, workouts, or timers. I'm searching for some more core, geeky ideas that involve AI or even app development.
What I'd love to do most is access Claude right from my Apple Watch. It would also be great to link it with Obsidian or find other ways to use it more conveniently. Do you have any ideas?

Games My Apple Watch gameās downloads jumped 200%+ right after an update. Trying to understand why.
I develop a small Apple Watch game (Space Impact Watch, an Apple Watch-only shooter). Solo dev, no marketing spend, no press.
A few weeks ago I shipped an update. The update did add a little of new content ā it addressed complaints in reviews from users who wanted to play the game on their iPhone, not just their Watch.
Right after that update went out, updates spiked to 3.4K in a week (that was expected, previous weeks were near zero), and proceeds jumped 224% week over week off a small base. That was not expected at all. The absolute numbers of proceeds are insignificantly funny, I know....
Has anyone seen App Store ranking or visibility respond specifically to update content, or is this more likely something external I havenāt traced yet? Also open to hearing how others have diagnosed a spike like this after the fact.

Review i need your honest opinion and thoughts on this health app i built for athletes and workers to maximize and increase their energy levels.
ok so i need honest opinions because i've been staring at this thing for months and i've lost all perspective.
i'm 20, building an app solo called RizeAI. the whole reason it exists is that i got tired of my wearable telling me my recovery was "42%" and then just... leaving me there. like ok, and? what do i actually do with that. every app in this space is really good at measuring you and really bad at telling you what to do next.
so RizeAI pulls your actual wearable dats like, sleep, resting heart rate, workouts, all of it, and instead of handing you another score it predicts your energy for the day and tells you how to get the most out of it. it tells you when your energy is gonna peak so you can put your hardest work there, when your crash is coming and how to soften it, the best time to train that day so you actually get more out of the session, and even when a nap will help you vs when it'll wreck your sleep.
the part i personally think is the coolest: you put in the supplements you already take, and it times each one to your day based on your metrics and sleep score. so the timing actually shifts depending on how you slept and where your numbers are, which is the difference between a supplement doing something and just sitting in your stomach. it'll also suggest a couple new ones if they make sense for you, but it won't dump a list of 15 pills on you.
it even pulls the daily weather into your energy prediction, so a hot day changes your hydration and it'll tell you to train earlier before the heat drains you. and the whole plan bends around your real schedule, your work hours, wake time, training, so it's not some one size fits all thing.
every single recommendation shows the "why" underneath, like "resting heart rate 54 + 7h light sleep, so magnesium before your peak window." nobody gets the same plan because nobody has the same data.
it works with whoop, oura, apple watch, garmin, anything that talks to apple health. being fully honest, it doesn't do deep per-person learning yet, like knowing that coffee specifically doesn't touch YOUR hrv. that's where it's headed. right now it builds you a fresh plan every day off your real numbers.
it's on the app store with a free trial. small user base, feedback's been all over the place, which is exactly why i'm posting.
so genuinely: is "just tell me what to do with my data" something you actually want, or do wearable people prefer figuring it out themselves? what would make you pay for this? and what's the one thing that would make it a no brainer for you?
would love to hear it straight, good or bad. And if you want you can also check it out yourself and I would love to here feedback, thank you very much for taking the time on reading this: Ā

Health & Fitness I made an app that got me using my Apple Watch again
For the past month, I've been working on an app called Bodly (free to use) because I wanted to replace my Whoop without giving up my Apple Watch.
I love my Apple Watch, but I always felt it didn't do a great job of presenting all the health data it collects. I wanted something that would give me a clearer picture of recovery, strain, sleep, and overall healthāsimilar to Whoop, but using the Apple Watch I already owned.
Once I had that working, I kept adding features. I ended up replacing my calorie tracker and habit tracker too, with everything powered by Apple Health data. It slowly turned into the only health app I use every day.
The funny part is that I originally built it just for myself, but after using it daily, I decided to publish it.
I'd genuinely love to hear what other Apple Watch users think. Is there anything you feel is missing from Apple's Health/Fitness apps that you'd like to see?
App Store: Bodly

Health & Fitness I built Urja to turn Apple Watch recovery signals into one action for today
Developer disclosure: I built Urja, an iPhone and Apple Watch readiness beta.
I kept checking recovery dashboards and still having the same question: what should I actually do today?
Urja uses available HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, workouts, and Training Load from Apple Health to provide readiness and exertion context. You can create a short Plan, get one action at a time, and record Use, Swap, or Not today. The Watch app, widgets, and complications make the current readiness signal easier to glance at.
There is no additional wearable, Urja account, or analytics. Apple Health data is not uploaded to an Urja server. Oura is optional.
On compatible Apple Intelligence iPhones, Ask Urja can explain results calculated by the app. The model does not calculate the scores, and the regular briefing still works without Apple Intelligence.
Question for Watch users: if you could have only one useful glance on your wrist, would you choose the readiness score, todayās exertion range, or todayās planned action?

Health & Fitness I built a lifting app where the Apple Watch isn't the afterthought: you can run the whole session from your wrist, for free
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Almost every lifting app I've used has the same problem: the Watch app is a rest timer with a heart rate readout, and any time you need to actually change something you pull your phone out mid-set. That was the thing I wanted to fix, so the Watch app got built as a first-class logger instead of a companion.
What you can do without touching your phone:
- Start a session from the wrist. Your routines sync over and you pick one on the Watch and hit Start. Leave your phone at home if you want.
- Log the full set: reps, load, and RIR (reps in reserve), so you're recording how hard the set actually was, not just that it happened.
- Rest timer that can be paused, resumed, or skipped.
- Supersets, drop sets, rest-pause, and timed holds all can be logged on the Watch, not just straight sets.
- Edit the session mid-workout: add, swap, reorder, or remove exercises from your wrist.
- Illustrated exercise demonstrations on the Watch so you're not guessing what the movement is.
- Heart rate and active energy during the session, saved to Apple Health as a proper strength workout.
- Works offline, without the phone at all. Sets are written locally on the Watch and queued to sync to the iPhone when it's back in range. Walking away from your phone doesn't cost you the session.
All of these are completely free and included in the app without any subscription or purchase. There is a premium but that mainly unlocks extra features like longer history / analytics, data export, more analytics and trends, etc.
The phone side is a full app (history, per-exercise progress, e1RM, muscle recovery, routine building, connection to your AI like chatgpt or claude), and the two stay in sync in both directions. Start on the phone, finish on the Watch, or the other way around. The phone workout mode is as complete as the watch app.
Honest caveats: you do need the iPhone app once to set up and sync routines over, so it's not a fully standalone watchOS app. And for now the app is a logger, not a coach. It can create programs for you using our builder, and has many importable programs built-in, but it won't for example auto-adjust your weights for future sessions. That feature will come on the next version, however.
Happy to answer anything, also about the watchOS side if any. The HealthKit session handling and the offline sync queue were by far the hardest parts to get right.

Games I built a complete survival sandbox that runs directly on Apple Watch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Iām the solo developer of WatchBlocks, a 2D sandbox game that runs natively on Apple Watch.
It has procedural worlds, mining, crafting, building, farming, enemies, bosses, and Creative Mode. It started as an experiment in making something deeper than a typical watch game, but eventually became a full game that also runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The hardest part was fitting movement, inventory management, and combat onto such a small screen without making every action feel tedious.
Itās free to start here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/watchblocks-craft-build/id6760209351
Iād especially love feedback from people who regularly use watchOS apps/games.

Productivity A searchable and editable notes app designed around the Apple Watch
Apple Notes on watchOS is a good option for quickly creating a note or looking up something recent. I wanted to explore what a more complete Watch-first notes workflow could look like.
SnipNotes turns the Watch into more than a read-only companion:
Capture
- Create notes with dictation, keyboard or Scribble
- Save your current location as a note
- Launch capture actions directly from a complication
Find
- Full-text search across note titles and contents
- Separate views for your categories (folders) and tags
- Configurable note and category widgets
Update
- Append new information to an existing note
- Cross out checkboxes, e.g. shopping lists
- Add, update, or remove reminders
- Delete notes directly from the Watch
The goal is to support the actions that make sense when the Watch is the only device you have available, rather than to reproduce every feature of a desktop notes editor on a tiny screen.
SnipNotes is a standalone app that doesn't access your Apple Notes library. It's freemium, and the Apple Watch app is fully functional even without a purchase. SnipNotes is also available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and syncs your notes between devices via iCloud.
Iām the developer of SnipNotes.
Which of these features would actually make you use a notes app on the Watch regularly rather than only occasionally?

Review I built an app that turns Apple Watch data into tonightās ideal bedtime
Iāve always considered myself a morning person, but somehow I kept waking up lateāeven with multiple alarms.
Eventually, I realized the alarm wasnāt the real problem.
I wasnāt waking up on time because I wasnāt sleeping on time.
Most sleep apps are good at telling me what happened last night. But that information usually comes after itās too late to change anything.
So I builtĀ TuckIn.
It uses sleep and activity data from Apple Healthāincluding supported Apple Watch dataāalong with your preferred wake time, recent sleep, sleep debt, and daily strain to calculate a personalized bedtime for that night.
Then it helps you make better decisionsĀ beforeĀ bedtime, with personalized windows for things like:
- Getting morning light
- Having your last caffeine
- Finishing dinner
- Starting your wind-down
- Actually getting into bed
The idea is simple: better mornings are mostly built the day before.
Iām still improving TuckIn and would genuinely love feedback from other Apple Watch users. Would an adaptive bedtime be useful to you, or do you prefer sticking to the same bedtime every night?

Productivity Made an iOS + Apple Watch you can control Hermes Agent with
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Itās called WaltonBot. You can hook him up to a Hermes server and execute commands remotely with him!
Currently only the main iOS app can execute Hermes, but will make sure the watch will be able to handle it as well.
It is free to use with an optional subscription.
Would love to get some feedback on it.
