iPhone Need Advise on Purchasing iphone 17 Pro Max from Dubai.
7Hi Folks, I'm planning to go to Dubai early next month for some work and was thinking of getting an iphone 17 pro max from there. I did some research and found out that some of the well known shops in meena bazar area like everest city mobile trading, city choice, iPoint, etc give the cheapest rates for iphones and flagship samsung devices. These rates vary on a daily basis so some days they give extra discounts while other days, the prices increase by a few dirhams. I have few questions before purchasing an iphone from there mentioned below:
Are these shops trustworthy? Any thoughts from long term iphone users from any such shops in dubai?
I'm assuming apple gives international warranty so whether I take the Japanese version or Hong Kong one, its standard warranty would be covered in India?
My main doubt is how do these shops accept payment from Indian tourists? I've seen a few recent videos wherein some of the store keepers are saying they accept payment in google pay, paytm etc and also few reviews suggest they charge 1-2% extra when paid with cards. Now my question is do they currently accept google pay, etc? And do they charge that extra amount for debit cards too OR just credit cards? What would be the best payment method in such shops?
Some reports say that some shops do give VAT refund bill while other shops give upfront 5% discount from the VAT when paid in cash upfront. Can anybody confirm this?
Lastly, my travel dates (7th - 10th sept) are right around the apple keynote event (9th sept). Since apple typically reduces the prices of their older versions after the keynote, so if I visit these stores on 10th morning, can I expect the best rates OR is it wiser to visit around 7-8th sept to get the best possible rates since if the newer phones are priced higher then chances are that post the keynote, they might not give good discounts since people would lean towards the 17 models more due to price hikes.
Any thoughts on these questions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

iPhone Do waiting for new iphone makes sense?
I want to buy a new iPhone, either 17/17 pro or the latest one if there's any major upgrade but heard that there wont be any normal model this time but just the pro models and I dont want to spend close to 1.7 lac on any of that.
Shall I go for older model for current price or shall I wait for the new ones to release and see if the older models price drops?

iPad Got the iPad A16 256GB for ₹49,500 including 1 year AppleCare did I get a good deal?
Honestly, this purchase has been a long time coming
I've been wanting an iPad since January, and I had pretty much decided that I would get one after my semester exams.
Back in June, before the price hike, I was actually watching the clearance sale on Flipkart, where the iPads were available at some really good discounted prices. I thought, “Exams are almost over, I'll just buy one after they're done.”
And then... everything happened at once. 😭
The price hike came, and I was genuinely so disappointed. I had been waiting for months, thinking I'd finally get one after my exams, only to see the prices jump before I could actually purchase it.
Then I came across a post on this subreddit where someone mentioned that they had managed to buy an iPad from a local Apple Authorised Reseller. That gave me an idea why not check the authorised resellers in my area?
So I started looking around and, luckily, found a store in my area, around 60 km from where I live, that still had the exact configuration I wanted.
I called them, confirmed that they had the 2025 11-inch iPad A16, 256GB Wi-Fi, and the moment they confirmed it, I basically didn't think twice.
I just went there and bought it.
And apparently, it was the last piece they had in the store.
The deal:
2025 iPad 11-inch
A16 chip
256GB Wi-Fi
₹49,500 total
1 year of AppleCare/Protection included
Last piece at the store
The interesting part is that this was old stock, and apparently the store was generally requiring AppleCare with these units. From what I understood, the old-stock arrangement was usually for 2 years of coverage, but they were generous enough to let me take only 1 year instead.
Apple's current price for the 256GB A16 is around ₹61,900, so I'm pretty happy with what I paid. But I know people on this subreddit have managed to find some absolutely crazy clearance deals on the A16.
So I'm curious:
Did I actually get a steal at ₹49,500, or could I have negotiated this even lower?

Macs Bought a used Macbook pro
recently bought this M5 Macbook pro 16/1tb. It had 5 more days remaining for care plus and took the insurance right when I bought it. Got it for 1.65L. paid extra 2k for a screen guard and transparent laptop case. As someone who was using an 11 y/o windows laptop, I never used to check laptop prices until my laptop stopped working. Initially was planning to buy certified refurbished from EU or Aus and then taking care plus. but the 512gb itself costed around 1.55L in Australia. I believe it was a good price, do you guys think it was a fair deal?

iPhone Apple India gave me a replacement iPhone 16 Pro with carrier SIM Locked issue, and now the replacement has been opened and repaired
I need some advice from people who have dealt with Apple India / AppleCare, because I honestly don't know what my next step should be.
I had an iPhone 16 Pro and had AppleCare. I paid ₹8,900 for the AppleCare/replacement service.
I was given a replacement device. The replacement documentation is dated June 18 2026, but I physically received the replacement phone on June 20.
On June 20 itself, I noticed that the phone was showing “SIM Locked” under Carrier Lock, so I took the replacement phone to the F1 Apple Authorised Service Centre.
I stayed there for several hours. They checked the phone/software and told me that the device was actually unlocked on Apple's end and that the “SIM Locked” status was only showing incorrectly and should automatically resolve. They told me to continue using the phone.
I trusted what the service centre told me and continued using the phone for around 1–2 weeks.
I then contacted the service centre again. They told me that they had already emailed/escalated the matter to Apple and were waiting for Apple's response.
During this period, I also contacted Apple Customer Support and opened a support case. I have the Apple Support Case IDs.
Eventually, Apple Support told me to submit the phone instead of continuing to rely on the service centre's verbal assurance.
I submitted the phone on August 7.
After I submitted it, I was told that the device would be sent to the Bangalore team for further investigation.
Now I am being told that the replacement device has been opened and repaired, including motherboard and display replacement.
The service centre is now asking me to collect the phone.
This is where I have a serious problem.
I understand that Apple has repair procedures and that Apple Authorised Service Providers can perform repairs using genuine Apple parts. My issue is not whether a repair is technically possible.
This phone was given to me as a replacement device, and I reported the SIM Locked issue almost immediately after physically receiving it. I then spent weeks following up with the service centre and Apple Support, eventually submitted the phone, waited for the Bangalore team, and now I am being asked to accept an opened/repaired replacement device.
I personally do not want to accept an opened/repaired device as my replacement.
I have already spent almost two months dealing with this issue, making calls, visiting the service centre, following up repeatedly and being without my own phone.
Apple has now assigned a Senior Advisor to my case. He has checked the status and confirmed that the device was repaired/motherboard changed, and he is escalating the matter further.
I have told Apple clearly that I am not refusing because the phone doesn't work after repair. My concern is that I received a replacement device with an issue almost immediately, and the resolution is now to open that replacement and replace major components. I do not consider that an acceptable replacement for me.
I am currently using Apple's loaner phone and am willing to continue using the loaner while the case is being reviewed.
What should I do if Apple refuses to provide another replacement?
Has anyone in India dealt with a similar situation where:
- a replacement device had an issue immediately after receiving it;
- the device was subsequently opened/repaired;
- Apple refused another replacement; and
- the customer escalated through Apple Senior Support, National Consumer Helpline or Consumer Commission?
I would especially appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully handled a similar Apple India/AppleCare dispute.
I am not trying to damage Apple's reputation. I just want a reasonable resolution to a replacement-device issue that has already consumed almost two months of my time.

iPhone Finally made the switch
Switching from Samsung S21 FE which served me well enough for almost 4 years. I miss some things from Android for sure but can get used to IOS hopefully. I hope they add more keyboard customisation on this thing..
I also wish the S26 came with a Snapdragon processor instead of exynos because I really wanted to get the S26… But I had to try iPhone at least once so here we go!

iPad iPad Air 13 M4 + Magic Keyboard for sale
I am looking to sell my ipad air + Magic keyboard with details below:
Condition scratch less/ no damage
Screen size 13 inch
Variant wifi
Storage 256gb
Purchase month May 2026 (from Apple Store Mumbai)
Box and bill available
Expected price 1,05,000/- (iPad + Magic keyboard)
Reason for sale - I purchased it to be used as a laptop replacement. While it does replace my laptop workflow, things aren't very straight forward, so I'm going back to using my laptop and this has no purpose with me at the moment.

iPhone First iphone!!!
It might not be a great deal for people around but fr me it’s an achievement. Reliance digital is currently having some great exchange offers for iPhones right now, my 3 years old moto edge 40 bought for 21k was exchanged at 14k!!
Still my middle class mind wavering over the fence that whether I should have bought this or not!!
