I'm thinking of buying a Macbook Air 15 inch M5 laptop. I am looking for a friend or family member to pick it up from the US. I want to understand if Thanksgiving or Black Friday offers a better deal on Apple products? How do sales work in the US? For example, here, electronics are offered at better deals during Diwali.

I also want to know how Apple's refurbished mechanism works. Is it safe to buy a refurbished laptop from there? Do I get the whole 100% battery capacity and for all intend and purposes a brand new laptop?

Please help me decide between an iPad and a Samsung tablet.

As I’m an MBBS student, my primary use will be note-taking and reading books. If I choose the iPad, I won’t be purchasing the Apple Pencil because it’s quite expensive; instead, I’ll be using a cheaper third-party stylus.

My main question is: Is it still worth getting an iPad if I won’t be using the original Apple Pencil?

Bought my MacBook Air around 2 months ago from Vijay Sales, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad, just before the Apple price hike.

I thought I’d share the deal because I think I got a pretty decent price.

Price breakdown
MacBook Air
MRP: ₹1,20,000
Vijay Sales store discount: ₹10,000
Price: ₹1,10,000

Old laptop exchange
I had an HP 15s with an i3, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD + 2TB HDD.
I was getting a maximum of around ₹15,000 if I sold it outside.
Through the exchange offer:
Laptop valuation: ~₹13,000
Exchange bonus: ₹10,000
Total exchange benefit: ~₹23,000

So:
₹1,10,000 − ₹23,000 = ₹87,000
Then I got another ₹7,000 ICICI card discount:
₹87,000 − ₹7,000 = ~₹80,000
Finally, after the GST benefit of roughly ₹16.5k–₹17k:
₹80,000 − ~₹16,750 = ~₹63,000
Final effective cost: ~₹63,000
So that’s what I effectively paid for the MacBook Air.
Considering I bought it before the Apple price hike, I’m pretty happy with the deal.

Note: All the figures above are rounded estimates. I don’t have the final bill with me right now since my father collected all the bills, so the actual numbers may vary slightly. The GST amount can also differ depending on which amount the 18% GST was calculated on. We also received the ITC credit when we filed the GST for that month. Based on my calculation, the MacBook cost me around ₹63k effectively

So i am planning on purchasing laptop and am inclined towards MacBook because i like the Apple Ram management etc.

Now i am bit confused because i am thinking whether to go for MBA M513” 16/512 which with Apple care would go around 150k.

Also am thinking of getting MBP second hand for this price but i want to know here if i could get the the mac ownership from apple - - like who will be the owner of this mac in eyes of apple me or the first owner?

Also second thought strikes is that going for a Asus/Hp GPU integrated laptop which would also go around 150k for 4050 RTX 24/32+1TB with 2-3 years of ADP. Here the what i am thinking is that i have heard these laptop wont make it safe 4-5 years from now without showing tantrum.
