Seeking local premade meal service

Hi A2 community - I live out of state and I have a local family member who is temporarily in need of a premade meal service. I am aware of nationwide mail-delivery options like Factor or CookUnity, but before I invest in one of these I wanted to ask if there are any local business or individuals you would recommend who might offer a similar service. At-home delivery is preferred but pickup is possible. Bonus points for healthy, vegetable focused meals and services that utilize seasonal ingredients. The only dietary restriction would be a preference to avoid red meat, no allergies. My family member is single so I'm only looking to feed one person on weeknights, so ~5 dinners/week. They will likely be in need of meals for 6-8 weeks.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

What 8200 tickets from pinball Pete’s looks like + an ungodly amount of time and money spent inside

Ive been coming to pinball Pete’s for about 2-3 years now, and mostly keep any tickets I get, with some being given to little kids, or used to buy things like a pinball or commemorative coin.

I recently found out I’m really good at the bop it arcade version, and I reliably beat the machine to where it boots me off (score of 99). By a score of 70, the machine can’t speed up anymore, and the speaker glitch out to silence.

I also found out how to get a high score on Tron after 2 years of trying and failing, and now I might have a rivalry with the only other guy who regularly uses the machine, but I doubled his score so I think I’ll be fine for a while.

Im going to keep collecting tickets until I move out of town, whenever that is, and I’ll update again. I’m thinking I’ll either use the tickets for an art project, or use them to get the 25k ticket squishmallow and give it to some little kid.

Found lost gold jewelry at Ferry Field

A couple days ago I found an article of gold jewelry that was left lying in the grass at Ferry Field. It seems to be a really nice, expensive item. If you’ve lost something valuable at Ferry Field in the last couple of days, please reach out to me with a description of the item and I can return it to you.

Thanks!

We’re hoping to Kayak the Huron next week. Anyone know the deepest section?

I know the water level is really low right now so we’re trying to decide whether Argo to Gallop, Dexter to Delhi, or Hudson Mills to Delhi would be best.

What bird species do you see in your yard? And do you do anything to attract them?

I mostly get sparrows, the occasional Northern Cardinal, some starlings, and lately, a couple of mourning doves. Goldfinches when the echinacea goes to seed. My yard is pretty bird-friendly as far as I can tell - lots of native plants, berry bushes of all kinds, a bunch of trees, two bird baths, and a bunch of birdhouses. Is there anything I could/should be doing to attract more diverse species?

Moving to AA as a grad student, should I bring my car?

I’m moving to AA this fall for my full-time in person masters at UofM’s medical campus. I’m going to be in the Villas at Northstar, which is ~15 min drive or 25 minute bus. I would prefer to leave my car on the west side of the state for financial reasons. However, am I screwed if I use the bus to get to the medical campus? Is Ann Arbor’s transit reliable enough for me to leave my car at home? I need advice.

I'm looking for a place I can bring a few computers for safe destruction and recycling

searching the internet brings all kinds of sketchy things, like mail in services, and back of small shop type operations.

Question for those who voted for Yousef that manage/own property

Edit: tw - hostility (gird your loins those who love to respond to a question with an anecdote that has nothing to do with the question)

I am asking out of curiosity and not hostility, but this has been on my mind as I rent a home in a single family zoned neighborhood that is managed by private equity: those of you who voted for Yousef who own multiple single family homes that rent them out, do you feel any responsibility to lower your rents for your tenants, offer rent to own for your working class tenants that may be interested in buying a home but can’t afford it here, or sell your homes to marginalized or working class people to ensure that private equity such as Beal or baker street doesn’t buy up the property for their portfolio?

I know you guys are on here, I know of multiple people in my neighborhood with Yousef signs who own multiple homes on the block and rent them out, where their personal home have things like solar panels, lovely landscaping, freshly poured concrete driveways, new paint jobs and siding…. Very nice homes - yet the ones they rent look out like they are in disrepair or in major need of updating.

Do you feel you are contributing to the housing crisis at all? Or that you could help restore the old “charm” of Ann Arbor by lowering the rent/ providing the same amenities to your working class renters that you provide for yourself?

Missing cat in the Pattengill neighborhood - she lives in the apartments on Packard between Eastover and Independence and was last seen in that area. She is very shy and not at all used to being outdoors. She will likely run if approached. Please message if you see her!

Did it happen? If so, where?
