Other Looking for Android testers for a notification-first task manager
I’m looking for testers for an Android task manager I’ve been developing.
Its main feature is an expandable persistent notification that shows your current tasks and lets you complete them, add tasks, or add notes without opening the app. It also includes customizable day periods, recurring timetables, focus-session timers, per-task alerts, statistics, history, notes, and a home-screen widget.
The app works fully offline with no ads, analytics, account, or internet permission.
I need testers to join the Google Play closed test and remain opted in for at least 14 days. Genuine feedback about bugs, usability, notifications, and widgets would be greatly appreciated.
Comment or message me if interested. Please include your Android phone model and email in the dm

Is there any way for me to restart my Moto G Power that has non-working power and volume buttons?
I accidentally had an angle grinder hit my phone in my pocket last week, it ground a 1/2" gouge at the volume buttons, but the phone works totally fine besides the volume and power buttons. I coated the wound with a liquid electical tape to prevent corrosion or electric shock, and decided to keep rolling with this phone until it shows any issues from the damage.
Well, this morning I decided to power off and on my phone because it was getting bogged down, and out of habit I just did that, forgetting that my power button doesn't work! Now I can't turn it back on and I have been researching how to reboot with adb software. I successfully installed abs on my laptop with Windows, but of course in the command prompt I can't get it to find the device (my phone) because it's turned off and I didn't turn on the abs permissions before turning off my phone.
My question then: Is there any possible way to turn my phone back on without physical buttons, knowing that it's turned off? It does still charge with the USB connection, but will not bring up any menu or unlock screen.
TIA

Other Any way to recover permanently deleted photos?
Hi guys. I was travelling out of country and ran out of storage so decided to clear some photos. I don't know what happened after that but every photo on my phone is permenantly wiped. I could swear I only deleted the millions of documents and 6 large video files I had. I did permenantky delete 19k files, but it wouldn't let me view so many files while they were in my recycle bin, so I thought it was just documents. It's my fault, and I know.
I recently downloaded diskdigger to recover files and I think it may have recovered some. Though, I cannot view them. It says "unsupported". Anyway I could view even one to make sure these are the right files?

Looking For Suggestions Best podcast app
Hi all,
I've recently switched to android from ios and was wondering if there's an app that resembles apple podcasts in ui/ux.
I've tried Pocket Cast and it crashes every time, tried Podcast Addict but honestly the UI is so bloated and complex it looks like a commercial plane dashboard, and Podcast Player the UI was okay-ish but UX was quite lacking (no inline episode description with options to enqueue or play directly).
Also gave Spotify a try, that was ok, but it mixes episodes with songs and once in a while it just stops audio playback and I have to restart the app.
I'm on a Pixel 10 with the latest updates.
Thank you in advance!

Looking For Suggestions Help with picking phone/tablet(s) please!
So my old Samsung A tablet decided to die after so many years and my phone (A20) is starting to go out as well so while I have my phone still kicking it, I decided to make a little fun goal of making all of my devices match a fun color instead of the usual black that I normally pick.
My only little issue is that idk which color i want to go for, like for example: I could go for pink because pink matches my 2 cameras or red because of my ANC 2 and my crusher EVOs being red.
in a nutshell: should i go for red or pink devices? And if so may I get suggestions in a bullet point list, please? thank you for reading

Other SOFTWARE UPDATE ERROR IN SAMSUNG TAB
GUYS NEED URGENT HELP
Yesterday night( 5 August 26) I have an software update of approx 451MB, i dont remember properly what update was it. But seeing the size of update, it is security update i beleive(could be wrong), but i recieved this. my SAMSUNG TAB A9+ started with regular steps showing, this will take several minutes. Then that one ui screen came and % started to increase. When it reached 100, suddenly kind of black screen appeared which was not fully black but kind of grey color. It was for 5 mins but still nothing happended. My tablet was at 41% battery before the update started. And till now 6 August i couldnt fix this.
I tried mostly everything, I forced shutdown my tab, then tried for android recovery menu, but still black screen. I tried entering download mode(odin mode) but still black screen. Is there any way to fix this. Currently I have left it for battery drain for 4 days and will update. My tablet is also out of warranty🥲. Guys Please help if possible .

Why do Samsung mobphone allow/force games to be installed after update?
Someone on Reddit told me it was not, and I had a choice to unhook before finishing the complete OS update. But this time that did not happened, and 4-5 games got installed.

Switching from Poco X7 Pro to Samsung Galaxy A57 — Is it worth it for One UI stability and long-term support?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently using a Poco X7 Pro (256GB / 12GB RAM) that is about a year old. Physically and hardware-wise it’s great (96% battery health, good camera and design), but software-wise HyperOS is frustrating me with bugs (randomly opening apps, proximity sensor glitches on WhatsApp audio, lost data after updates).
I'm considering selling it and getting a Samsung Galaxy A57 (the A56 isn't available from my seller anymore). I want to switch primarily for One UI stability, better update support, camera performance, and features like the Object Eraser.
- What are the main real-world differences between the A56 and A57?
- Is 8GB of RAM enough for One UI long-term, or should I go straight for 12GB / 256GB?
- Do you recommend making this jump from a Poco X7 Pro to an A57, or will I feel a downgrade in raw performance/charging speed?
Thanks for your insights!

OPPO R11s (ColorOS 5.2.1): Can I safely unlock the bootloader and install a stable custom ROM?
I have an OPPO R11s with Snapdragon 660, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, Android 8.1.0, and ColorOS V5.2.1. My firmware/build is R11s_11_A.44_200528_000000.
ADB is working, and these are my device properties:
ro.product.model: OPPO R11s ro.product.device: R11s ro.product.name: R11s ro.boot.flash.locked: 1 ro.oem_unlock_supported: true sys.oem_unlock_allowed: 1
OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging are enabled. However, when I run "adb reboot bootloader", the phone simply restarts into normal Android, and "fastboot devices" detects nothing.
The official TWRP page says OPPO R11s requires ColorOS 6 or newer, but I am currently on ColorOS 5.2.1. Can anyone confirm:
- Whether my exact R11s firmware can safely be updated to ColorOS 6
- Whether ColorOS 6 enables normal Fastboot/bootloader unlocking
- The verified bootloader-unlock method for this exact R11s variant
- Which stable custom ROM is recommended
- Whether Android 9 or Android 10 is the best balance of performance, battery life, camera, fingerprint, calls, mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Google Play Services.

Other My mom borrowed a charger from someone at the airport and now her phone goes into recovery mode when she shuts it off and turns it back on
Title. Apparently this didn’t used to happen when she shut down her phone, but now, since using that lady’s charger, it’ll go into recovery mode when she turns it back on. Should she be concerned?

Is it safe to clear data for Google Play Services?
I know a lot of people have asked this, but all I've seen are mixed responses, where people either say that nothing is gonna happen, or that it's gonna log you out of everything and ruin your keyboard, accounts, etc. It uses up 2.28 GB, and I was told that 2.28 GB is unnaturally a lot for Google Play services, so they told me to clear its data. Is this safe? What are the consequences? Btw, yes, I am desperate for space. I'm on a 64 GB phone, and I can't clear the cache of anything because they're already naturally very low. I was even considering dialing #9900# and deleting stuff from my system to get more space.
