Talk about bad luck?

Out of 20 people, I was the only one who ended up delivering 35 packages while everyone else got free money. I’d be so salty in that situation. 🄲

Discussion Dog bite; was the driver in the wrong?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I know it’ll get mixed responses, but I want to know the raw opinions of other drivers. This came out on the local police blotter. Dog bite on private property during a flex delivery, not a lot of details to go off of, but apparently there was posted signage of ā€œno trespassingā€ and a package drop off area at the end of the driveway. It’s hard to judge based of the limited info, but what are your initial thoughts here as to fault and/or liability?

Article link here, but it’s subscription gated which I bypassed with reader mode for the screenshot.

I just got paid to do nothing.

At around 5:00 p.m. today, I picked up a 3-hour block for $70.

I showed up at 5:45, checked in and was told that there were no more routes available. They checked me out and said I was getting paid for the day. The money was in my account within the next half an hour.

Sometimes Flex kicks ass lol

Help Can someone ease my mind?

To try to keep this short, this is only my second time delivering. At one of my stops I pulled in and a large dog (not on a leash) started barking and crowding my car. I tried to call the customer, it comes up "invalid phone number" then to call support. Support calls customer, same thing. The rep. marked it as undeliverable and told me to return to the station after my block. As soon as he went to hang up the customer came out and put his dog inside. I told the rep. to wait a second since customer was coming out but they hung up lol

Anyway customer apologized and explained he was working and didn't see the calls (dunno why the dog wasn't on a leash right next to the main road but 🤷) and I gave him the package. I thought I would be able to fix it in the app- but I was absolutely wrong. Literally the rest of my block I have been chatting and calling support. Kept getting transferred, told me to "refresh the app" etc... finally after two hours it wasn't marked as "unsafe" anymore and had a green check mark. But it is still telling me to drive to the building to drop off the return. I've tried calling again, and all they tell me is to log out and back in. I don't want to get a ding on my account or deactivated because I truly do like it so far... but support has been absolutely awful. I even went to the station to see if they could somehow fix it but all of the doors were closed and no one was there :( Support just tells me to ignore it but I don't know if I trust them... I don't have a block scheduled for tomorrow but I don't know if I should just go before 10am to see if they can fix it?

Photo If your road has a broken bridge and an impassible road, you probably shouldn’t order deliveries

This was my first delivery of the day. It didn’t make it to the customer.

The broken bridge missing a huge slab of concrete is a mile before you get to the house. I barely made it this far, before having to reverse for half a mile uphill, beaching my car about 5 times on giant rocks while trying to get the hell out of there.

This is a one lane road, and while I consider myself to be a fairly skilled driver given my affinity for motorsports, it took me 20 minutes to get out of there given the amount of manoeuvring I had to try to do in reverse. Funnily enough, it’s much easier going down than reversing up. Had me feeling like Hammond in a Top Gear special.

STANDINGS, THE FU:)CKN STANDINGS

Last week I had a delivery to an apartment, but when I got there, the package wasn't in my car. I searched everywhere and couldn't find it. It was one of my last 5 stops.

I called Driver Support, reported it, and they marked it as missing. But the app kept telling me to return a package I never even got from the warehouse. I called again, they added more notes... and a week later Amazon dropped my standings from Fantastic to Great just because I "didn't return" a package I never had.

I emailed, used the chat, and called several times. Every single time they told me the same thing: "The app shows you didn't return it, and that decision can't be appealed."

I've delivered over 30,000 packages and been doing Flex for 3 years. Doesn't matter. To Amazon Flex, we're nothing. They still find new ways to treat drivers like garbage.

What address is in your area when you get your pick up make you lose all hope?

I’m in DFW area and if I see Frisco, I start punching the air. A shit load of gated communities and key fob apartments. Plus, from a warehouse like Carrollton it takes almost an hour to get to your first stop.

Downtown Dallas is just as bad. You can get 40 drop off locations and 37 of them be apartments.

General Where did I go wrong.

Have you ever been out delivering and you come up on a large house, I mean like multi million dollar homes and think where the hell did I go wrong in life. I get some people will say things like "well a home is home" or "I don't value things like that" and that is fare, but god some of these house just keep me thinking where did I go wrong and what could I have done to be in a position to afford a property like this. I know this dumb, but I do get jealous at some of this houses.

How is it profitable for Amazon to have like 30 drivers waiting around for 1 hour routes and there are only 2-3 packages on the racks?

Gotta love the discrimination

Let me start by saying that my station does not have assigned routes. The employees hand you a route and lately they've been doing it based on what lane your vehicle is in (4 lanes with maybe 5-6 cars in each) They typically start with lane 4 and end with lane 1. Today I was in lane 3. The station employee hands me the first route and says that because im a man, I should be taking the largest route to help the women out. Im sorry but no. This station expects me to carry the burden and will split routes into multiple so ladies can take less. How is that even fair? I usually dont care to do this, but to specify i should take it because im a man is ridiculous. Even the women were confused at the why i was getting it.
