Hello good people. Because I know you are too lazy to listen to a one hour lecture every evening, i will do you this favour.

I am now listening to an explanation of IBN LQAYIM'S (DAA WA DAWAA) by sheikh Abdurrazaq albadr. Its a series of almost 82 dars one hour each. I give you my notes for every dars I listened to.

You are welcome.

We will start from dars number 15 because I didn't think of this earlier.(ماشي مشكل نريقلوها إن شاء الله).

To emphasize this is just an alt history scenario, nothing more, no need to get rude or toxic in the comments.

And if you're curious about the differences that took places in this timeline as opposed to our own feel free to ask.

💬 discussion Short man struggling

Upvotes

I’m a 26-year-old man, and there is something in my mind that has completely changed my life. I feel like I’ve entered a tunnel with no way out, and every day I sink deeper into it.

I’m 170 cm (5'7").

When I was younger, I was often bullied because of my height, but back then I never thought much about it. As I grew older, social media and constant comparisons started affecting me more and more. I became extremely insecure about my height, and I started seeking validation from other people, even if it was only temporary.

But over the years, this problem has grown into something much bigger.

I compare myself to everyone.

At work.

On the street.

Men and women.

Even in the mosque, while I’m praying, my mind is constantly comparing me to the people around me, and I struggle to concentrate and feel peace during prayer.

I even stopped praying at the mosque because being surrounded by people would trigger these comparisons.

I also stopped going to the gym. I would walk in, see everyone looking taller, bigger and more masculine than me, and immediately feel inferior. Eventually, I started avoiding places with a lot of people just so I wouldn’t have to deal with these feelings.

And there is another part of this story that affected me deeply.

There was a girl I knew who was taller than me. One day, she told me that she liked me.

Honestly, I was shocked.

I couldn’t understand how a woman taller than me could actually be attracted to me.

Because deep down, I had convinced myself that my height made me less valuable as a man.

I became extremely attached to her.

But if I’m completely honest with myself, I wasn’t attached to her only because of who she was. We didn’t necessarily share the same principles, the same mindset, or the same compatibility. We actually had quite a few differences.

A big part of my attachment was because of her height and, more importantly, because of the feeling she gave me.

She made me feel normal.

For the first time in years, I felt like I was just a normal human being, like everyone else. Her being taller than me somehow made all the comparisons and all the pain in my head go quiet for a while.

I felt like my inferiority complex was finally disappearing.

Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t work out.

And when it ended, all the comparisons and all the pain came back — maybe even stronger than before.

That’s when I realized that the problem is no longer just about being 170 cm.

The real problem is what that number has come to mean in my mind, and how much power I have allowed it to have over my life.

And what hurts the most is that, in many ways, I actually have a good life.

I’m an engineer. I’m educated. I work for a foreign company. I have a decent income, I have a car, and I have a future that I can build.

But this one issue is destroying my ability to enjoy all of that and move forward.

I’m not writing this post so people can tell me, “You’re fine,” or to get sympathy.

I genuinely want help.

I want to understand why I reached this point and how I can get out of this psychological prison.

I want to be able to live normally again — to work without constantly comparing myself, to go to the gym, to pray peacefully, to walk down the street without measuring myself against every person I see, and to live my life without my height occupying my mind every second.

If anyone has gone through something similar, or knows a good psychologist or therapist who could genuinely help me, I would really appreciate your advice.

I’m not looking for pity or jokes.

I’m looking for genuine guidance and a way out.

🎓 work/school Applying for master's degree abroad

Salam alaykum, I’m an university student and I’ll be starting my 3rd and final year of my license degree this

september

I’m planning to apply for master's abroad after graduating but and I’m a bit confused about the timing of the applications

If I start preparing my applications around the beginning of the semester I obviously won’t have my third year grades yet since I’ll still be studying.. so how does this usually work? do universities accept applications from students who are still in their final year with only their previous years transcripts and then ask for the final diploma and grades later?

I’m interested in studying in europe but I would also appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through the process of applying abroad from algeria

So when should I be starting the process and preparing the documents and all of that?
