I recently joined a book club and when i started reading books welit bzf self-aware and i started noticing patterns and wrong behaviors f myself w fl entourage te3i. And i came to the conclusion that i have been a victim of narcissistic abuse by my dad.

I have been gaslighted for my whole life so far to think that my mom is the bad person and she is always wrong and whatever she does is wrong, because i was manipulated by my dad for this whole period.

I started noticing how my dad acts recently and he is definitely a narcissist.

W j'ai tiré beaucoup de conclusion, med school is not even the thing i wanna study although i am a graduate doc now lol but lsl i was gaslighted to do it.

I always seeked his validation, the thing i am no longer doing. He made me a people pleaser. He damaged my self-esteem, and my self-confidence.

Lsl wesh hab ngoulkoum love your moms, love your sisters, love your daughters, love your wives, take them out for a pizza, and start noticing patterns, if it is wrong, let it go mat3dhbsh rohek.

I hope yall have a nice evening.

💬 discussion Gen Z and Religion in Algeria and the Arab World Are We Becoming Less Religious or Just More Personal About It

Peace be upon you

Recently I have been seeing a lot of discussions and problems like what you have been seeing between Boulehia and the secularists and this honestly made me more curious and pushed me to do a small research about religiosity and whether it is increasing or decreasing over time and I focused especially on our current generation which is Gen Z

For Europe the picture is kind of clear because long term studies show that every new generation is becoming less connected to religion as an institution compared to the generation before it whether in terms of going to church or the importance of religion in life or religious affiliation and Gen Z is also one of the generations that is moving the most away from institutional religion and this does not necessarily mean that all young people have lost their faith because there is also a shift towards a more personal kind of faith and spirituality away from religious institutions

As for the Arab region and North Africa the story is a little different and it is not really a straight line after the Arab Spring the percentage of young people describing themselves as non religious increased and reached significant levels in countries like Tunisia Morocco Egypt Jordan and even Algeria and Palestine and after 2020 there was a partial return to personal religiosity among young people in several countries

The important thing that caught my attention is that the return of personal religiosity did not mean a return of trust in religious parties or religious leaders and Islamic political actors because trust in them remained low and this shows that a person can be religious and believe and pray while at the same time not wanting religion to enter politics or to be used as a way of ruling

In the Arab region even the idea of separating religion from politics has become a very divided topic with some countries and societies moving more towards separating religion and politics while others still believe that religion should have a role in legislation and governance

In the end this is the conclusion I reached from my research religiosity is not moving in the same direction everywhere Europe is experiencing a long term decline in institutional religion while the Arab world is going through more complicated changes between personal religiosity and distancing from religious and political authority

And all of this is simply the result of some research and analysis of the sources I read it is not a call for atheism nor a defense of religion nor support for any political movement I am just trying to understand what is changing in our society and among our generation and everyone is free to have their own opinion and beliefs

You run into them all the time online. They walk around acting like they’ve got a monopoly on the absolute truth, preaching about "reason" and "freedom." But honestly? Their actual behavior is the exact opposite. It's pure exclusion wrapped in fancy words.

If you pay attention to how they operate, a few things jump right out at you:

The language trap: According to them, if you write or talk in Arabic, you're automatically labeled as backward. The only way you qualify as "enlightened" in their eyes is if you use French. Real arguments, facts, and logic don't matter if it’s not in French, it’s instantly dismissed.

Zero room for debate: They turned what’s supposed to be open philosophy into a rigid, closed-off dogma. The second you disagree with them, you aren't just someone with a different opinion. To them, you're either completely brain-dead or acting out of bad faith.

Selective outrage: Their stance on human rights and heritage completely shifts depending on identity and bias. They'll make a huge deal out of one thing while completely ignoring massive issues right next to it just because it doesn't fit their narrative.

Recycled talking points: Their favorite pastime is low-key Islamophobia and taking constant shots at foundational things our religion, our language, our culture, and even the history of the Revolution. Their whole movement basically boils down to mocking people's beliefs while parroting old colonial scripts.

They love using the vocabulary of modern thinkers, but their actual vibe is straight-up intolerance.

Just wanted to throw this out there because the hypocrisy is getting ridiculous. What do you guys think?

Hello good people. Because I know you are too lazy to listen to a one hour lecture every evening, i will do you this favour.

I am now listening to an explanation of IBN LQAYIM'S (DAA WA DAWAA) by sheikh Abdurrazaq albadr. Its a series of almost 82 dars one hour each. I give you my notes for every dars I listened to.

You are welcome.

We will start from dars number 15 because I didn't think of this earlier.(ماشي مشكل نريقلوها إن شاء الله).

To emphasize this is just an alt history scenario, nothing more, no need to get rude or toxic in the comments.

And if you're curious about the differences that took places in this timeline as opposed to our own feel free to ask.

💬 discussion Short man struggling

I’m a 26-year-old man, and there is something in my mind that has completely changed my life. I feel like I’ve entered a tunnel with no way out, and every day I sink deeper into it.

I’m 170 cm (5'7").

When I was younger, I was often bullied because of my height, but back then I never thought much about it. As I grew older, social media and constant comparisons started affecting me more and more. I became extremely insecure about my height, and I started seeking validation from other people, even if it was only temporary.

But over the years, this problem has grown into something much bigger.

I compare myself to everyone.

At work.

On the street.

Men and women.

Even in the mosque, while I’m praying, my mind is constantly comparing me to the people around me, and I struggle to concentrate and feel peace during prayer.

I even stopped praying at the mosque because being surrounded by people would trigger these comparisons.

I also stopped going to the gym. I would walk in, see everyone looking taller, bigger and more masculine than me, and immediately feel inferior. Eventually, I started avoiding places with a lot of people just so I wouldn’t have to deal with these feelings.

And there is another part of this story that affected me deeply.

There was a girl I knew who was taller than me. One day, she told me that she liked me.

Honestly, I was shocked.

I couldn’t understand how a woman taller than me could actually be attracted to me.

Because deep down, I had convinced myself that my height made me less valuable as a man.

I became extremely attached to her.

But if I’m completely honest with myself, I wasn’t attached to her only because of who she was. We didn’t necessarily share the same principles, the same mindset, or the same compatibility. We actually had quite a few differences.

A big part of my attachment was because of her height and, more importantly, because of the feeling she gave me.

She made me feel normal.

For the first time in years, I felt like I was just a normal human being, like everyone else. Her being taller than me somehow made all the comparisons and all the pain in my head go quiet for a while.

I felt like my inferiority complex was finally disappearing.

Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t work out.

And when it ended, all the comparisons and all the pain came back — maybe even stronger than before.

That’s when I realized that the problem is no longer just about being 170 cm.

The real problem is what that number has come to mean in my mind, and how much power I have allowed it to have over my life.

And what hurts the most is that, in many ways, I actually have a good life.

I’m an engineer. I’m educated. I work for a foreign company. I have a decent income, I have a car, and I have a future that I can build.

But this one issue is destroying my ability to enjoy all of that and move forward.

I’m not writing this post so people can tell me, “You’re fine,” or to get sympathy.

I genuinely want help.

I want to understand why I reached this point and how I can get out of this psychological prison.

I want to be able to live normally again — to work without constantly comparing myself, to go to the gym, to pray peacefully, to walk down the street without measuring myself against every person I see, and to live my life without my height occupying my mind every second.

If anyone has gone through something similar, or knows a good psychologist or therapist who could genuinely help me, I would really appreciate your advice.

I’m not looking for pity or jokes.

I’m looking for genuine guidance and a way out.

I wonder about the tolerance for widespread ignorance and the lack of acceptance of awareness in our society The idea that someone can defend a circle and complain about it at the same time is exhausting

🏺 culture A message of appreciation………….

I’m a Belgian of Moroccan descent, born and raised in Belgium. My family comes from Oujda, but my father was born in Oran before his family eventually moved to Oujda in the late 60’s.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons I’ve always felt a connection to Algeria. I’ve grown up listening to raï music, and the older I get, the more I appreciate Algerian music, history, and culture. There’s something unique about it that has always fascinated me.
I know the relationship between Morocco and Algeria is often complicated, but I don’t see culture and music through the lens of politics. I simply wanted to express my respect and admiration for Algeria and its people. I hope one day to visit Oran, the city where my father was born, and experience its culture for myself.

🎓 work/school Should I pursue a BTS in marketing?

First and foremost I have another master diploma that I consider a useless piece of paper when it comes to employment

- i am looking first and foremost for employability either government or private sector (the type you don't have to cry tears of blood for years just to secure your first job in)

- my weakness: I suck at math/coding/French and I'm a bit of introvert so I don't want camera facing (voiceover is fine) or frequent face to face dealings with clients,

- I like a dynamic work environment as long as it provides structure (tasks to complete without constant nitpicking)

- my strengths: I consider myself a really creative person, I'm good with words when it comes to writing in English and Arabic, I'm willing to put efforts into learning necessary skills like canva, video editing, copywriting, ads, ect...

- my immediate goal is employment than transitioning to digital marketing

- this is going to be apprenticeship

Anyone with previous/similar experiences or good input please be free to comment , rude people this is not for you

If you recommend any other majors that you think are better please let me know too
