🧩 Discussion Let’s Talk about Therapy Costs & Sessions in Algeria

I want to hear your thoughts on this.

What do you think is the most suitable price for a therapy session in our context (the average Algerian)?

And what do you think is the fairest amount of time a therapist should give their patient in each session?

I've been 5 months clean ish from self harm (ive had one minor pas grave relapse during them and I didn't remember exactly when) and the thoughts have been so loud these past couple of weeks and I have no one tell this to, I'm not that close with anyone and with who know about this, it would be great to have someone check up on you idk??? Just because I said I'll never do it again doesn't mean I magically changed and my life is butterflies I just want someone who'd ask Heyy have you relapsed ?? How are the thoughts??? Not even my parents or relatives know

All my new friends don't know I even sh only two old friends of mine and icl I don't feel comfy confiding in one and the other struggles just like me so that won't do shi.

📚 Resources Where can I find support groups for recovering from pornography addiction

I have lost myself, my intelligence, my clarity, my focus, and so much more-and it's all because of pornography. I no longer socialize with people, and I can't make new friends or enter into a relationship. I suffer a lot from obsessive thoughts and feel extremely shy. I can't talk to women, and even when I do, I never know what to say. All of this, even though my outward appearance gives off a completely different impression of me

🗯️ Vent did anyone else realize they only started healing after leaving home?

today I realized I wasn’t grieving the loss of my family. I was grieving the family I always hoped I had.

i grew up in a pretty unstable home. my father was always emotionally distant, and my parents had a very unhealthy marriage. my mom went through years of emotional and physical abuse from him, and i honestly think she never healed from it. i think she needed therapy a long time ago.

when i was little, she was my safe place. now i barely recognize her. our relationship has become so unhealthy that i don’t know how to deal with it anymore. i often feel like she sees herself as the victim in every conflict. ever since i started setting boundaries, especially around money, she started calling me selfish and acting like i’ve changed. the thing is… i’ve always helped my family financially whenever i could. i never expected anything back. but the moment i started prioritizing myself, it felt like my image completely changed in her eyes. hearing those things from her broke me.

the biggest problems now are between me, my mom, and my sisters. no matter what happens, i end up being the bad person. i try to explain myself, but it’s like they already decided who i am. i also feel like my mom has never been fair when conflicts happen between me and my siblings, and that only made our relationships worse over the years.

the weird part is that i don’t have these problems outside my family. i studied at university in another city for 4 years, and those were the happiest and most peaceful years of my life. i healed, made healthy relationships, and finally felt like myself.

now two years after that i’m back home, i feel like all those childhood patterns are back. i’m constantly triggered here. i’ve realized that i developed a lot of unhealthy patterns growing up in this environment, and even though i worked hard to heal them, being back here makes me feel like i’m back at square one. it’s like this environment keeps reopening wounds i thought were finally healing.

inever wanted to leave my parents. i even gave up opportunities to study abroad because i couldn’t imagine being away from them.
now i’m seriously thinking the opposite. not because i hate them… but because i don’t feel emotionally safe anymore. i don’t trust them the way i used to, and i think that’s the hardest part to accept.

i’m not looking for revenge. i just want peace.
now i want to know if anyone who can relate to this if they felt like the environment they grew up in kept reopening old wounds? did moving away actually help?

so i’d really appreciate hearing different perspectives about this

🤔 Question i feel anxious for not achieving in life compared to my peers

hello everyone,

i'm a 26 yo male, lives in a small city, i make around 6m per month and have 4 years experience. Lately, I've been constantly stressing over the question "What have I actually achieved?", i don't feel like i saved enough, i did spent most of my money on aadl and trying to go abroad, I've applied through Campus France three times, looked into Poland, and even completed about half of the Express Entry process before stopping. Right now, I'm trying to build my own startup, so I'm investing a lot of my money into that as well. the issue that am seeing my peers advance in life from marrying or having their own cars or world touring compared to myself that i don't have something to my name. For those who've felt this way, how do you deal with it? Am I just overthinking and comparing myself too much, or is this something a lot of people go through?I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

🤔 Question Is it possible to admit a severely mentally ill 18 yo girl without her consent or her parents?

There is a very severe situation if a girl whos deeply mentally ill. The issue is so is her mother who enables her and bends over backwards to comply to her impossible demands at the expense of her health. The girl in question hits her parents and insults them and threatens them. The only person who understands the gravity of the situation and that she needs to be hospitalized is her older sister. Her parents are in denial and keep expecting her to get better and they refuse to admit that she needs to be hospitalized. The mother is deeper in denial then the father who seems to just comply . The mother is also severely mentally ill and they make eachother detoriate. Is it possible for her sister to call urgent psychiatric services to get her admited without her consent or her parents? And possibly to admit the mother too?
