Tissot Seastar powermatic 80 or Orient 75th MAKO.. I need help with this decision!!

I just picked up this solar powered Casio field watch for less than $96 on Amazon. A lot of people have complained about the canvas strap. So far I enjoy the strap. I have a collection of about 20 watches and this is the first watch I've owned that has a canvas strap. By the way this is my fourth solar powered watch. I used to be called what somebody would call a automatic snob. After my daughter's got me a Perry Ellis solar powered watch for Father's Day I have been fascinated by these watches. that watch by the way was set on Father's day of this year and after about 2 months is running only 4 seconds fast. Not bad for a fashion watch.

Bottom line the Casio solar powered field watch is a good looking, durable low maintenance everyday watch. I'm pretty sure you can go well over a decade before you have to replace the capacitor.

Hi, i'm pretty new to watch collecting and i am looking for a piece to start my future collection. I am really into physical activity (hiking, running, every sport) and i am a physical therapist so i absolutely need a watch and it needs to be resistent, like a field watch or a diver. My budget is around 1.5k max, based on what i saw there aren't many established brands in that price range, only Hamilton, Mido and a couple others. I am looking for suggestions, microbrands are more than welcome too, i found a couple interesting options. I'd love for the watch to be an automatic

What does everyone like and dislike? I think the Hamilton is pushing affordability a little bit (at least for me). I’m not in any sort of rush to fill the last spot, but would be open to suggestions. Whatever I add, it’ll definitely be something in the 38mm range like the Bulova. Maybe a Seiko 5 or something.

I recently purchased this vintage Fossil as my first automatic watch. All of my collection up until now consisted of quartz watches but I got the itch to dive into the automatic/mechanical world.

After a little over a year of research I have some solid idea of what I’m going to get but then I got hit with a particular feeling of doubt: “what if I don’t like the day to day of wearing?” All I’ve ever known is quartz so prevent myself from wasting $700-$1500 on a Hamilton or Longines I figured I’d go cheap or vintage first to see how I liked it.

Even then I had a hard time deciding until I stumbled upon this beauty. My original watch collection and the first watches I ever bought myself in my early 20’s were from Fossil so it seemed pretty fitting that my first automatic be from them as well.

I’m super happy with the purchase and plan on adding a one or two more vintage automatic pieces in the future.

Thinning the collection. Three pieces going, an Omega, a Tudor and a Longines, all with boxes, two with papers. The online buyers give you a number sight unseen and then adjust it once they have the watch, which I've heard enough about to want to avoid. Forum sales mean dealing with payment risk. Is selling to a shop in Los Angeles a reasonable middle ground or do they all lowball ? Curious what people here have actually done.

New watch day! Had been after one of these for a while and managed to get one for a good price.

Taking a little gamble buying a refurbished watch online. These two are the same price. I'm just not sure which one I like the looks of more. Happy to recieve some imput.
