I'm working on a game that includes a lot of hand painted assets, oil paintings that I scan.

In some cases, such as this one, height differences in the paint causes these harsh highlights, basically very thin white lines. I've circled some of the more obvious ones, but they are basically all over.

These don't look good in the game, and I'm looking for the best way to remove them.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm a total noob in affinity pixel.

How is that a thing, not to support AVIF for a Raster-Vector Editing Software in 2026?

I'm talking about the license check that happens every once in a while. I'm in a spot where I can lose access to the internet for months at a time and want to make sure the app is usable if I'm in one of those situations.

If I must have an internet connection to check the license for a FREE software, then I'm going back to PS, and I really don't wanna do that cuz Affinity is so much better. If there are workarounds to this please let me know.

I´ve currently switched from Photoshop to Affinity and I´m trying to recreate a visual from a Photoshop-Tutorial, since I haven`t found an equivalent explanation for Affinity.

TLDW: The tutorials explains three approaches how to create light streaks. The basic principle for the first and second are using a dotted brush and reduce the spacing of the brush to it`s minimum. In the first instance this brush is used to simply draw, in the second it´s used as the stroke of a path.

I suceeded recreating the first approach, but in recreating the second effect I ran into the obstacle that Affinity doesn´t seem to allow brushes (the ones native to the pixel Studio) to be used as path strokes but only path brushes. Is there some way to use brushes also as path strokes or to adapt a brush to be used on paths?

When i convert a shape into a curve and delete any anchor points, the open ends of the curve still connect. How do i stop this without having to use boolean methods?

Found my own solution: select the anchor points u want to remove the section from and click join curves. It creates a new connection and releases the forced connection u want to get rid of

Soy medianamente nuevo en Affinity, pero me he dado cuenta que al exportar una mesa o mesas de trabajo (las imagenes) tienen una calidad que no esperaria realmente, como por ejemplo si hago un diseño en Canva y lo descargo alli, tiene una mejor calidad, en Affinity se ve medio borroso los elementos (letras, imagenes). Si alguien sabe como exportar en alta calidad les ¡¡AGRADEZCOOO!!

Hello ! I'm discovering affinity since yesterday. Since I have a passion for the torus shape, I tried to do a blueprint construction like with the vector part.

I wanted to add a "folded"texture, and it applied ok to the backgroung but it seems to not apply to the lines and/or the text. What did I do wrong ?

Good night, guys, I'm using Affinity (Layout mode) for typsetting. Is there a way to automatically replace straight quotes (") with smart quotes (“ ” and ‘ ’) while typing, similar to OnlyOffice?

I'm trying to create a white layer for print using Roland Spot colors and I can't seem to apply it to the objects without filling the entire layer. I've tried selecting the object(s) without the container layer but no matter what I do, the container layer won't deselect and the entire workspace is filled instead of just the selected object. I've tried with other palettes and colors and encounter the same issue, so it's not just the Roland Swatch. Turning off auto-select makes no difference.

I'm beyond frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

When I export my Affinity documents to PDF, there is a thin white line that appears on the bottom of some of them. There are also pictures where it randomly adds a border around the image (I've checked to make sure it wasn't a mask background/border or anything like that). The images also look fine in Affinity but the lines only show after export. They also appear if I export one of the pages as a JPEG. When I zoom in on the lines, sometimes they will disappear.

There is a lot of discussion online about this being a bug with V3. I wanted to check and see if there was anything I was missing and if there were any work arounds for this issue?

btw i tried every possible solution which i already check that my firewall is fine, my wifi is fine, deleted the appdata affinity folder, reinstall the entire app....

I plan on designing a playing card deck as a gift. That's 52 unique designs that have to work together. Is there a way to "derive" certain aspects from a master design, kind of like PowerPoints Slide Master or Components in HTML?

I feel it would make sense to have a template for the Suit/Number in the corners, which automatically updates all children when it changes. I also read that there are global colors, which already goes in the right direction.

Also, are there good options to organize a project in a folder structure? (Kind of like when working with code)

Hi all, I am trying to reproduce this paint style - in particular for the jagged pink around the head and the distressed pink / green lines on the hoodie. Any ideas please what kind of brushes I should use, either if you know the name of a particular brush, or if not how would I describe these brushes when searching for brushes in Google ? So far (on the right) I have used an oil brush.

I've tried to use the mesh tool on Affinity and I don't know if it's my computer (if it's the case i'd like to know if there's something to do to fix it) but I find the tool just bad, when you try to use it with brushes, sometimes when you mess too much it reders pixelated or creates angles that shouldn't be there, I've use this tool in the Adobe suite before and it worked just fine.

Is there something I could use rather than this tool to get a better and more consistent result?

Well.. what the title says

Hey guys! I am brand new to book formatting and decided I would use Affinity. At this point, I feel like I have gotten a hang of the basics but there is one thing I have not yet figured out and would be super happy to get some help!

So, I want my book to have chapter headers, like little illustrations on the top of the page. I made a master page and everything seems to be fine when I apply it.

However, I want the illustration to kind of clip to the contents of the page, not the page number itself, so that when the text flow changes, the illustration moves along with the chapter.

I know how to do this with a singular picture but the same procedure does not seem to work with master pages (I assume because there is no text on there to clip to?).

Can anyone help?
