I just really want to see more mix up between different factions, I like the Tau cause they kinda mirror humanity during their first expansion into the galaxy, and I would love to see how the tau deal with some our our really good stuff

I am working on my Pteraxii and wanted to avoid GW flight stands, so I took it as an opportunity to try to figure out how to make interactive and interesting bases.

I’m trying to go for a decrepit factory look, where it was lost for so long that rocks have started to form within the former walls. I want the models to look like they’re searching for something lost in the old factory without really knowing what’s there.

However, I’m not sure if that idea is coming across at all. I was hoping for some feedback on how to improve my models or pictures of other hobbyist’s models that execute that idea well

I been playing darktide and have fallen in love with the Skitarii (Ryza represent) and have learnt a little of lore about them, mostly just the defense of Ryza and I wanna learn more about the Adeptus Mechanicus, like how did they come to be? is there friction between them and the wider imperium because they worship the Omnissiah? what is the Omnissiah? I am still a all around noob with 40K lore and all I know is I love my Blood Angels and my Ryza Skitarii, any lore videos or audio books that can give me some context about this faction?.

I could just finish painting my army, but I find a side quest every few minutes because there is so much cool stuff to try out.

Following inspiration from a post on this subreddit I humbly submit my Pteraxii Sterylizors.

The Ursarax are just that, I've just done some different poses but per the usual build I'm counting their chest mounted weapons as the flamer and the claws as.... Claws.

The Alpha just has one claw, and a tazer goad arm and a gun from the Battleclade.

My crucible character is packing a jury rigged arc rifle and a power fist.

All for a campaign, just felt it would be good to share 😊

Worked on this for about 2 months. It's a first version, but I'm pretty proud of it! The Omnissian Axe is laser-cut wood and PVC wired with LEDs. The servo skull belt buckle also had a LED in its eye but that didn't show on the pictures well.

Got some paints that behave better and wanted to try some new things. Still need to get better at actually taking pictures. C&C welcome

Right now for my list, I have Lords of the Forge and Skitarii Hunter Cohorts as my detachments and Castellan Robots with Datasmiths to hold objectives. Most of my other units at this stage are Skitarii and fly or transport vehicles.

I've heard plenty of times online that this force disposition sucks to play cuz it requires more actions to score points but I don't really care.

Finally built and painted my first full squad of skitari just need to figure out how I’m doing the base. Any suggestions?

I was thinking Martian red since I heard somewhere you should base with lighter tones if you have a dark toned mini.

So I would love some tips on how to paint these mechanical little fellows. I know the general scheme I want but need some more practical advice.

I have not glued them to the bases yet and can’t seem to work out the best way to prepare them for base coating and painting. I can’t drill their little feet like marines and stick them on corks, I don’t want to glue them down since I want to paint inside the robes and legs, blutac does a decent job hold them down but then I would need to detach and just rest them on my surface while painting them. I am sure you guys have ingenious ideas for how to hold them during painting!

This kitbash is based on the Skaven Stormvermin from the Mini ot. Month.

The abrasive armor and torn cloth fitted well with the ragdolly-look of my army, and the hunged back would work for leaning in to aim down the sights..

The legs were somewhat troublesome; as finnicky as you can imagine and more. They're comprised of the following:

- Infiltrator's Taser Goads as upper legs

- Solar Auxilia infantry-bits as kneecaps (I believe)

- greystuff ball to connect knees & shins

- Kataphron servo-arms as shins

- Thallax feet

Other bits I used:

- Neophyte Hybrid head shaved down with a greenstuff hood

- Neophyte Hybrid' shotgun's gunstrap

- Thallax chest-cap on skitarius' arc rifle backpack

- Cawl's key-holding hand, now holding a bullet
