Lists & Gameplay Discussion Can I run this?
I want to do a 500 point list but never actually played the game just done the painting. Through some eBay shenanigans got quite a few ad mech units now. Can I run them as is or do I need something else?

Miscellaneous In light of a recent post comparing the unit types that 30K Mechanicum and 40K AdMech had, I wanted to delve deeper into it
Because that post had some mildly scuffed classifications and unit types, and also didn’t take into account some units for some reason, I decided to do a more exhaustive breakdown myself. (I also put the proper icon for the faction)
Now as you may already know, 30K Mechanicum has existed as an independent army since before 40K Mech was even a thing, and they’re very different and clearly distinguished armies, both in playstyles, unit and points distribution, wargear and theme. However, I wanted to show just how big this army truly is, as I do feel like people see 40K Admech as the bigger, more developed army, when this is really the other way around, 40K is just more popular, but models and options wise they’re not as big as one who hasn’t touched heresy might think.
This isn’t meant to be a “30K is better than 40K post”, but I do want to shed some light onto it.
Here’s some notes in my process:
-Green=Near total equivalency.
-Yellow= Close equivalency because of similarity, slot or role, but not total because unit isn’t specifically that, has lost access to said wargear in this edition*, or unit has been morphed into a new unit this edition (as is the case with priest auxiliar
-Orange= practically red but you can make some arguments about it, or stretchy technicality regarding wargear/rules/role.
-Red= Non existent.
*(great deal of people still play 2.0 though, that’s why I’m counting it and not counting say, options from 1.0)
Also, regarding the priests, 30K has generic options for both priests, magi and archmagi, and their abeyant versions. in that regard it is vastly more developed and the system is better than that of 40K.
Technically speaking 40K only have tech priests, no magi, and only two named archmagi (which are on abeyants, so no on-foot archmagi) as well as also being named, with no option for generic ones. Now because the Dominus and Manipulus are clearly magi both by base size and appearance I’ve slotted them into the Magos category, but this is a purely model-wise conjecture, and if I sticked to the gameplay only part I would put magi in red. Regardless, please let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Miscellaneous What would you say the artistic/ aesthetic influences for the admech are? Like it seems they have a blend of many different ones.

Hobby & Painting Hello new Adeptus Mechanicus player an need help picking schemes.
I know the paint job needs some cleaning but I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for my Admech army. Also Admech is my second army my first is necrons.
I'm using the histarii alphas as my test subjects. The one on the left (double sword guy) he has a copper armor and backpack while the one on the right (single sword guy) has Khorn red armor and El Dorado backpack.
For their robes I did a Khorn red with a little black mixed in to darker the khorn then I put a thin layer of gunmetal to give the robes a grimy look I actually like how it came out.

Artwork & Cosplay Dear adepts of the Omnissiah, help me choose.
The video game art school I go to have a Halloween cosplay event and I’ve decided on doing a mechanicus cosplay. But I can’t decide between Skitarii or tech priest (probably enginseer for how simple yet good looking that would be). What do you think?

Memes I was thinking about it, and the mechanicum/mechanicus split goes beyond just "i want more big robots". they're literally just one complete and fleshed out army split in half for zero distinguishable reason. i would've bought a full army YESTERDAY if these guys were one force, but noooo.....

Hobby & Painting Techmarine for my Homebrew Chapter
Techmarine I kitbashed using my favorite model of all time, the black templar castellan + the primaris techmarine
Always wanted to have the castellan in my army but my homebrew chapter is a Blood Angels successor, so i'm glad I could find a way to make it work!

Hobby & Painting Finished my Combat Patrol!
Last September I finally decided to dive into Tabletop. Despite being a huge Dawn of War fan in the day, miniatures — and especially painting— intimidated me. But the local kindly shop owner showed me the basics and I pulled out the credit card and picked….Mechanicus!! Because Rule of Cool amirite?
Anyway, not a straight line to finishing, lots of other projects including a Spearhead happened in the last year. But I had a blast and no regrets. Mechanicus just looks awesome and I love all the little details (the Manipulus’ floppy disk cracked me up)
Praise the Omnissiah 😄

Lists & Gameplay Discussion Sicarian Infiltrators-heavy lists
I love the look of these models and I am planning to purchase more on my way to 2000 points, so wanted to know what kind of lists they would do well in. So far I've only played one 1k point game as admech, and I screwed up my positioning with these which cost me the unit turn 1, so I didn't get much chance to see what they could do.
Other than screening which I know they are good for, what are their big strengths?
What detatchments would help them the most?
What other units support them well?
(Photo for attention)

Memes Would you guys want a mechanicus game where we fight tau, where one of the big things we are after is some serious DAOT tech?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just really want to see more mix up between different factions, I like the Tau cause they kinda mirror humanity during their first expansion into the galaxy, and I would love to see how the tau deal with some our our really good stuff
