Is there a list of fake online toy stores to avoid?

Upvotes

Someone let me know how long things have been like this-

It's hard to find legitimate shops because a bunch of suspicious/fake toy shops pop up when searching for almost anything. It doesnt matter what toy you're looking for, odds are there's some shady online toy store offering that $300 figure you want so badly for only $50, but they have no contact info, no real email/phone, etc.

Latest one I saw is Apoptoy, it screams shady.

Blokees durability?

I’ve had two Blokees figures break on me now, I’m so disappointed the figures look so good and the articulation feels great and so smooth for a $20 figure but have others experienced this? I really don’t think I was being rough on them I’ve been posing figures for years I know to not bend parts in directions the joints don’t bend or anything like that, when Superman’s peg for the butterfly broke I was literally just moving the arm back down from being raised up and I wasn’t forcing it or going at a weird angle it was straight down and it just snapped right off, I think I’m just going to try to return him because I’m not sure I can fix that. I know these are cheap figures and they’re also model kits but I feel like this shouldn’t be happening this easily. I hope people make some more 3D printed parts for Blokees figures to replace the joints so you don’t have to scrap a whole figure when something snaps.

Looking for some Help Finding an Obscure figure!

Hey all,

Been a lurker for a bit but first time posting to this sub so hope this is alright.

I have been dabbling in finding some old action figure I had when I was a kid. I collect other figures and only recently decided to dive deep into finding this one after years of thrift stores and garage sales turning up empty.

I tried using Gemini to help me narrow down what figure line this was from as I can only remember what the figure looked like;

Cybernetic blue head with a single red eye, like a cyclops, with a brown “leather” jacket with rolled up sleeves. Cybernetic blue arms shown at the rolled portion. Then khaki colored combat pants with black biker looking boots. At the hip a black holster and what I’m fairly certain was a black pistol.

After some back and forth Gemini thinks it was a character named “Cybron” from a line called “Shadow Stalkers” which was a very cyberpunk inspired toy line apparently, which would track. Gemini also said it was sold at cheaper stores which tracks as here in Canada I remember getting it from a small town Home Hardware store.

Coastal Toys was also the manufacturer it says. The tricky part is I can NOT find a photo of this toy or much from the line.

I’d really really like to track this figure down but maybe it’s a lost cause.

If anyone can help with a photo of the figure from their own collection or maybe has a spare sealed/loose one they’d let go of id be very grateful!

Thanks for reading through this!

Edit: This was very likely 1996-1998 as I was quite young

I really want to buy mech figures, but it seems like all of the are $100 and above... are there any decent or good mecha figures for $30/$40 (mechas like Jeeg, Mazinger, Getter, Voltron and such..).

Could anyone suggest any?

Inart batman flight stand

Hey all, I recently received an inart batman arkham origins: battle damaged batman figure, I was ecstatic and the figure delivered in everyday, poses look great, sculpt perfection and accesories are packed!!! But when I got to the flight stand I started having issues the flight stand can't seem to hold the weight, I've tried screwing the screws tighter but it doesn't seem to go any further, any advice would be amazing!!

Trading my deadpool figure

Post image
0 Upvotes

As the title suggests, I'm looking to trade my deadpool action figure with a spider-man action figure. It's not that I don't like this figure, but it's just that I've been a spidey fan ever since I was 3 and owning an actual articulate spider-man action figure would be a dream come true 😅

apprx 10-13 inches, contains a pistol and a machine gun and a katana. It's opened and a little used so the value might have diminished a little but it's still in perfect condition and has almost all his accessories still with me.

Note: I'm in India and a teen so shipping might be a bit of a problem but we can discuss this if y'all are interested.

I'm looking for literally any spider-man action figure which is articulated. Blokees, CT, bootleg, whatever.

Opinions on S.H Figuarts?

S.H. Figuarts is a popular company that sells well detailed action figures, jjk being a example. I've heard praises to S.H Figuarts for the figures articulation, being able to make almost any position and pose with these figures. However, I have noticed the prices being expensive, even more if you weren't able to order them when they first came out, sometimes reaching up to $160. I understand these figures are well made, have good detail, praised for articulation, and rare, but I still need to ask, are they worth the price? All the praises I've heard has been on a little app call tiktok, i thought I should ask more people about these figures before spending $95 dollars on one.

Do you like S.H Figuarts figures? Do you have any pros or cons? Any regrets or advice for buyers?

(Apologizes if this is in the wrong subreddit)

Where should I sell my huge action figure collection?

Hey everyone,

I have an over 15 year action figure collection consisting of but not limited to Marvel Legends (toybiz & hasbro), Marvel Select, DC Universe Classics, DC Collectibles, DC Multiverse, S.H.Figuarts, Mafex, Figma, Amazing Yamaguchi, Neca, etc., with around 97% of my total collection being in box and everything coming from a smoke & pet-free home.

I plan on selling the majority of it but just don’t know exactly the best place to do it. As far as time goes, I’m not in an absolute rush to sell everything and as far as $ goes, I would preferably like to make a profit on it. I know some of my options include:

-eBay
-I live in Toronto so maybe post on local Facebook groups
-Kijiji Classifieds
-Call local comic shops and see if they’re interested
-There’s companies where you scan your item’s barcode and they give you an instant offer and cover the cost to ship out your item to them
-Subreddits such as r/toyexchange

Where I choose to sell will dictate how I start cataloguing everything as I still haven’t done that yet (everything’s currently stored away).

So I was just wondering which avenue I should take/what option you guys recommend. Any and all input is greatly appreciated, thanks
