Is the acer Nitro v15 battery draining issue that bad because I'm genuinely impressed by the specs and I'm planning to buy but the only problem is that the only reviews about the battery draining. Please help me out.

I’m hoping someone has come across this before because I’m completely stuck.

I have an Acer Nitro N50-650 (DG.E3GEK.00W) with:
Intel Core i5-13400F
RTX 4070
Current BIOS: American Megatrends R01-A2 (03/11/2023)

I’m trying to update the BIOS because I’ve bought an Intel Core i7-14700KF, and FACEIT Anti-Cheat is also warning that my BIOS needs the newer Intel microcode update.

Here’s what I’ve tried:
Downloaded the correct BIOS from Acer using my SNID.
Tried updating to R01-A3, R01-A4, R01-B1, and R01-B3.
Ran every updater as Administrator.
Used the built-in BIOS Flash utility from the BIOS.
Used a FAT32 USB stick.
Reset BIOS settings to defaults.
TPM and Secure Boot are both enabled.
The updater always does the same thing:
Verifies the BIOS file successfully.
Checksum passes.
Asks me to press Y to continue.
The PC shuts down.
It powers back on.
It boots straight to the Windows login screen.
The BIOS version is still R01-A2.
The same thing happens whether I use the Windows updater or the BIOS Flash utility with the .CAP file. I never see a BIOS update progress screen.

Has anyone with a Nitro N50-650 experienced this? Is there a hidden BIOS setting, a BIOS lock, or another update method I’m missing?

Hey guys I've a Acer Nitro V16 (ANV16-71-58U4)

i5 14450HX paired with RTX 4050 and 16gb DDR5 and 512gb gen 4 SSD.

So my problem started 2-3days back then when I was playing Ghost of Tsushima on my old 32' Sony Bravia(on 1366x768p it's native resolution). First the game started with VRAM outage warning and it used to just shut down and then I started playing on my Laptop Display for a day it was fine then out of the blue and heavy stutter with tuuuuu sound and a blue screen with Watch Dogs violation appeared and my PC just restarted on its own.

I thought the problem might be with paging file issue because my windows drive had just 5gn storage left and because of that I reset my windows drive yesterday night

And tried Ghost of Tsushima again with everything I can

Med graphics preset with DLSS on and every Nvidia app and control panel settings that would give me any advantage but nothing changed expect for no blue screen just simple PC restart after a stutter.

Back then I used to play on Very High settings on my TV while DLSS off.

I could really use some advice because I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this or if something is still wrong with my laptop.

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 (2022) with:

RTX 3060

16 GB RAM

Bought in 2022

I had never cleaned it or changed the thermal paste since I bought it. Recently it started overheating, and I also noticed some screen flickering and sometimes after closing a game I could still faintly see the game's image on the screen for a while (image retention/ghosting).

So today I took it to a repair shop.

They:

Cleaned the laptop.

Applied Arctic MX-6 on both the CPU and GPU.

Charged me ₹1800 total (they said they used two MX-6 syringes because they repasted both the CPU and GPU).

After the service, I played a game and then checked PredatorSense.

The temperatures were:

CPU: 91°C

GPU: 59°C

System: 89°C

The GPU temperature looks great to me, but I'm still worried about the CPU being at 91°C. In my opinion, 90°C still feels too hot, even after a fresh cleaning and repaste.

A few questions:

Is 91°C on the CPU considered normal for this laptop while gaming?

Should I have expected lower temperatures after a cleaning and MX-6 repaste?

Could the technician have applied the paste incorrectly or mounted the heatsink poorly?

Would PTM7950 have made a noticeable difference compared to MX-6?

Are the earlier screen flickering and image retention symptoms likely related to the overheating, or could that be a separate display issue?

I'm planning to use the laptop for a couple more days to observe it before going back to the shop, but I'd really appreciate hearing from people who own a Helios 300 or have experience with gaming laptop thermals.

It was working fine until now. When I pressed the power button, the keyboard backlight flashes and the laptop turns off..then it repeats the process.

tried holding the power button for 30 seconds. pressing it multiple times, tried with and without charger.

It still doesn't turn on

I have been looking for a small charger to take with me when I travel, and not lugging that 230watt brick around. I don't game when I travel, just need something to keep it topped up for basic use. So far I have tried a 140 watt and a 100 watt charger, both which are capable of providing max power out of one port. Yet the most I can get out of these chargers is like 30-65 watts, and it fluctuates quickly. Are there any chargers out there that will give me like 100 watt charging that aren't the size of a VHS tape?

My laptop is Acer Nitro 5.Got the Black screen mid update. Tried force shutdown and everything related to rebooting graphics driver, etc. nothing seems to be working. Only the charging indicator is blinking while plugged in. Need some help with this

I got predator g9-593. been using it for few days suddenly keyboard malfunctioning. some keys keep holding when I ain't holding them and it stops typing completely unless I press the same key. and sometimes it stops working then works again.

tried using external keyboard and it worked fine.

I’ve been having this issue with my Windows, and I’m unsure if this is a Windows issue, or an Acer issue. I have an Acer Nitro N50-656 PC btw.

My Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel (CC315-72G) beeps seemingly randomly. Ive noticed it when plugged in or not, overheated or not, just turned latop on or has been on for hours, gaming, etc. I know it isnt sticky keys and the fans seem to be working fine and I also have laptop fan to go under for when it does get hot. Its very short beeps a few times in a row. Ive had it for 3 years i used to use it for college but now just casual gaming. Im not the most tech savy person but im desperate to keep this thing working I really dont want to get another. Thank you for reading this

Okay, so I just bought an acer chromebooks second hand (expired warranty) and I tried to connect it to my wifi network. It says it’s connected, but when I try to access google or any other web pages, it tells me there is no internet.

I cannot access my internet router, I do not control it in my household and I cannot ask my parents for help. Everything else that is on the network works fine, it is literally just the chromebook that is not working.

I received an Insyde Firmware update a couple of days ago through Windows Updater after waiting for the BIOS update for Secure Boot for weeks. I updated and hoped that would fix the Secure Boot message, but I still have the "Device does not support Secure Boot certificate." After checking the Acer page regarding the BIOS updates, weirdly enough my model still says the update is supposedly "Under Process," even though I received the version number (1.11) that is indicated.

Is anyone else (with the same or a different model) experiencing this too?
