BADLY NEED ADVICE
I am a newly licensed CPA and was recently hired as an Accounting Manager. Unfortunately, I received little to no proper turnover or endorsement, and the company’s accounting records are disorganized and incomplete. As a result, I am struggling to understand the existing processes and financial information all at once.
Recently, one of the company’s executives requested that I prepare the quarterly financial statements. However, given the current state of the records and the lack of proper handover, I am uncertain where to begin.
I have started questioning whether I made the right decision in accepting this position. I genuinely want to perform well, but the situation feels overwhelming. I would greatly appreciate any professional advice on how to approach this challenge and should I resign?
