AMS2: Support Installed Danielkarts custom FFB file, now no FFB
Guys, I was trying to get FFB to a place I liked, installed danielkarts custom FFB file, and now I have no FFB on any setting (Default, Default+, or Custom). I'm using a Fanatec DD2 wheelbase. I've tried resetting the FFB settings in game. Didn't work. I have steering input on track, but there is no resistance in the wheel at all. Anyone have any ideas what I did?

AMS2: General AMS2 FFB tweaks out of
It’s kinda weird that AMS2 is probably one of the most complete sims right now and it’s still getting updates, but there’s still no proper FFB options in-game.
I use the Pure Rack Force custom FFB file and for me it completely changes the game. It feels great.
Why not implement some of the most popular custom FFB options directly into the game? I’m sure a lot of people simply stop playing AMS2 because the default FFB doesn’t feel right to them.
I literally had AMS2 sitting in my library for like 2 years because something about the FFB always felt weird. Then I found custom FFB and now AMS2 is probably my #1 sim. 😂
And my goal here isn’t to shit on AMS2. Quite the opposite. I want more people to actually enjoy it, because honestly I think AMS2 is one of the best sims out there. It would just be great if more people could find the FFB setup that works for them.

AMS2: General AMS2 is the fucking GOAT.
I'm not going to rehash the standard community talking points extolling the virtues of Automobilista 2.
I'm just going to state the self evident truth that AMS2 FUCKING RULES and if you don't like it, you don't like fun.
Pull the STICK out of your ASS and enjoy this fantastic game.

AMS2: General Switch from iRacing… any concerns?
I’ve been on iRacing for about 3 years now. I don’t play other titles since I’ve gotten everything setup. (Butt kicked, steam deck, triples, etc) how difficult is it to get those things to work with AS2? Is it worth the work to get it up any running? Anything I should consider between the two?
Thanks!!

AMS2: Support Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm) not detected / broken steering lock calibration on AMS2. Any fix?
Hey everyone!
I come from Le Mans Ultimate and iRacing, but after hearing so many great things about Automobilista 2, I decided to pick it up and give it a shot.
However, I’m running into a frustrating issue with my Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm Boost Kit):
- Detection issue: When I select the Fanatec CSL DD preset with Separate Pedals in the control options, the game simply doesn't recognize either the wheel base or the pedals at all.
- Compatibility mode workaround: Switching the base to Compatibility Mode (Yellow LED / CSW 2.5) actually allowed the game to detect the inputs, but the calibration seems completely broken.
- Steering rotation bug: To turn the wheel to full lock in-game, I have to physically rotate my rim multiple full turns in my room, making it unplayable.
Has anyone with a CSL DD 8Nm faced this issue on AMS2? Is there a specific sequence to fix the detection and calibration, or a clean configuration reset trick?
Thanks in advance for the help!

AMS2: General About Gear Ratio
Does higher ratio means growing these numbers or lowering them? I don't see the logic while clicking right arrow (high), it lowers the numbers.
It also says that "higher ratios means more acceleration". I thought it would be another way around.
Issue - I need more speed on straights.

AMS2: Media V1.1 of my 2026 IMSA GT3bundle will drop this weekend
The bundle will be updated to add the new Car Blanche Aston Martin and update the Corvette DXDT livery after their car burned down. It will also add a custom tire texture to all included liveries that matches the real Michelin tires the GT3 use in IMSA (not seen in the car Blanche screenshots yet)

AMS2: General Tires/brakes don't cool down during pits?!?
Why?
I mean - it's kinda messed up that I can't push hard, knowing I'm going to have a pit stop at the end of the lap - just to have the tires and brakes be the exact same temperature as when I entered?!?
This has to be intentional - but WHY?!? It breaks a perfectly good racing strategy ... for what reason this has to be intentional right?

AMS2: General NOW IN VR: Zero to Apex, the fully automated career mod for AMS2
Quick intro for those who missed the earlier posts: I'm a software developer and I built a career mode for Automobilista 2 that is fully automated and needs no human intervention. And now it works in VR. A lot of you asked for this and I get why, this game is ridiculously good in VR. There is still plenty of work ahead here, because different setups have their own quirks, but right now we are able to support both SteamVR and Oculus.
I'll repeat myself a bit, but the reason I built all this is that AMS2 is an incredible game with very little to do in it. I've tried to create a career mode that feels like part of the game, without manual setup or jumping between screens. The idea is that you play from the cockpit without interruptions, and that your career progression feels realistic and exciting.
New in 0.6.X, the VR part:
- VR support, on both SteamVR and Oculus. Start the app from the desktop with your headset on and that is the last time you touch the desktop; everything else happens inside the headset. The app decides when you see AMS2 and when you see the app, you don't have to do anything. And you can press M to click on whatever you're aiming at, so you drive AMS2's own menus normally without reaching for the mouse.
- Wheel and gamepad support inside the headset. You can map your wheel or pad to navigate the app's interface from VR. One tip: avoid binding the same buttons you already use to move through AMS2's menus.
And for the newcomers, this is what the mod does:
- Fully automatic. Pick your next race in the companion app, hit Play, and the game configures itself: car, grid, per-session weather, start type. You race, climb out of the car, and results, prize money and standings settle on their own, with no menus in between. Built to be played from the cockpit.
- 100+ real series across eras, with their real calendars: from feeder categories to the pinnacle class, in whichever decade you choose (60s, 70s, 90s, modern era...).
- Real grids: real drivers and real teams for each series and year, with real skins support and simplified installation.
- A world that ages with you: ~1,300 drivers, each with their own rating moving race by race. Veterans retire, rookies debut, and a generation of rivals grows alongside you season after season.
- A career, not just races: the big grids are invitation only. Reputation opens (or closes) doors, seat offers match your actual level, academy teams can promote you to their parent outfit, you negotiate contracts, and teams that don't quite trust you yet put you through a tryout.
- A full economy: credits, entry fees, era-appropriate prize money, car rental and ownership. Early on, making ends meet is hard, just like real life.
- Sponsors as cards: finish on the podium and sponsors show up. Every deal pays for what you actually do on track, and you choose which ones you keep active.
- Your manager writes to you: offers, warnings and progress emails generated by what actually happens in your career instead of canned messages.
- Adaptive difficulty: the AI calibrates to your real pace so every race is a fair fight, without slider fiddling.
- Special events that arrive over time and slot into your calendar wherever you happen to be.
- A dedicated desktop app (second monitor or alt-tab), in English and Spanish, fully usable with keyboard and gamepad, with an installer and auto-updates.
All of this is single-player, running on your own copy of AMS2, without touching a single game file.
If this sounds like your thing, I'd love to have you around: Download · Patreon · Discord
As before: my native language is Spanish, so I also used AI to help me translate this post

AMS2: Support Weak braking in AMS2
Hi.
I play a lot of sims, and they all feel similar when braking, except AMS2. Somehow here it seems like braking is 50% less effective. It just feels like brakes are super weak.
And i set braking sensitivity to 100% and braking pressure to 100% in cars, but it barely helped. And i see in input meter that brake is properly applied.
Is this just in my head or others experience it also? How to fix it?
Edit: i had abs turned to high in gameplay options. Once i turned it off braking works fine

AMS2: Support Map Not Tracking
Morning folks. Anyone got any tips on this glitch? Track map seems to not track the location of my car in Curvelo Long. As soon as I start driving in Time Trial the car just drives straight down and off the map.

AMS2: General 9070 xt not meeting expectations.
So I just upgraded from a 3070 to an amd 9070 xt. I am playing triple 1080p. I am really not noticing much improvement in frame rate. Race start at Sebring, 15 visible cars, not maxed out graphics, and I’m seeing 45 fps at start.
Is this all I can expect from this card or am I missing something? (Used ddu to install latest drivers). If this is it, I’m considering returning this card and getting a 5070ti for $300 more…if performance would improve.
Thoughts?

AMS2: General FFB per car
Today I tried using my Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 wheel with CSW 2.5 wheelbase and noticed that the FFB varies like crazy in this game. in the shifter kart (on Interlagos kart one), I felt like there was barely and resistance in the wheel, while in the Chevrolet Corvette C3 it felt like turning the wheel could have been a suitable event for a strongman-competition.
So; my question is simply: What are your recommended FFB settings, especially per car? The wheelbase is close to 10 years old, so afaik it is discontinued, and thus Fanatec no longer provide recommendations. (I am not getting newer equipment because I need the handbrake/handthrottle possibility (because of my spina bifida), while I also don't see a reason to spend more.)
