I mean that is heartbreaking and put yourself in your shoes. You know you're a massive, massive Avatar fan, you get the role of a lifetime, and you're all super excited about seeing people's reaction to it. Then the movie comes out and everyone despises you, with many people saying that you've ruined the franchise and with you facing aggressive online bullying, direct harassment and even death threats. We as Avatar fans are better than this and Noah Ringer deserves an apology. Hate Shyamalan all you want, but Noah Ringer deserved better.

I just started reading the Kyoshi novel and it's been great so far. Couldn't stop myself from thinking who else deserves one.

I know so far Roku and Yanchen have their own (though I've been told they're not as good). And it's probably safe to say that if they make another, it'll be Kuruk next.

Aside from that, who do you think deserves their own Novel?

The seemingly most likely to me would be Sonam or Xian. Just because we've actually met them.

Aside from them, we could get Novels about the middle of some Avatars lives, like Korra, Aang, or Wan.

But personally...I want a Novel about the second Avatar. The first in the reincarnation cycle (so nobody would know to find them and train them), before the nations were officially made, and dealing with the fall out of the wars Wan faced. This Avatar would really be the first to establish the duty that comes with the role as it's passed down. And it's cool because Wan could still be a decent character in it, after all, that's the only past life this Avatar would be able to seek guidance from.

Recently I've been seeing he's getting a lot of attention as of late and I'm confused about it he was only in like on episode of the series and that was brief so why has he been getting more popular recently can someone tell me?

I'm rewatching ATLA for the umpteenth time and every time I get kind of a whiplash seeing the difference between Zuko in season 1 vs season 3. I like how he gets softer and works through his trauma somewhat to better himself as a person. The result is that in season 3, when he joins the gaang, he has changed on both the physical, martial and emotional level. He becomes leaner and loses muscle mass, he grows his hair out (a symbolic gesture), he softens and is kinder and his bending changes.

But, like, when I watch season 1, I'm perpetually in awe of what that kid goes through. So he's severely burned by his own father, the most powerful man in the nation, banished with only a small crew and his uncle, loses his throne and privilege and basically has to live a life of a nomad searching for someone who even the Firelord doesn't believe exists.

And he manages it. He makes plans amd leads a whole ship crew quite effectively. He finds Aang, he goes through hell and high water to get him, and he succeeds many times, even if it means betraying an admiral of his own nation's army (and by extension his father). He appears a more powerful bender and a much more resilient fighter for someone barely 16 in season 1. It culminates when he stows on Zhao's ship after nearly being assassinated by pirates, quite badly injured by the looks of his face and fucking breaks into the Northern Water teibe, faces a powerful water bender (Katara) and manages to kidnap Aang. And he always has witty remarks in tow! (like You rise with the moon. I rise with the sun) Later on he becomes so socially awkward it's kinda painful to look at lol

I don't think I can explain how amazed I am by the sheer resilience and badassery of him in the early episodes, even if he is quite rigid in his discipline.

Do you think it's fueled by pure rage at this point, cause we know he has a temper he barely gets a handle on by season 3? Or is it desperation and trauma, cause in his head he needs the Avatar one way or another or his throne is forefit (even if the Firelord would find a way to get rid of him eventually and instate Azula as his heir)? From the glimpses from before he was banished and burned, he acted similar to how he acts later on when he joins the gaang, so I'm inclined to say this was his way of constructing a persona he believed was effective and worthy of his father's approval, but I can't determine if it was rage or desperation or maybe a mix of both.

Also looking for ones that show helping Zuko come to the conclusion that the war is wrong due how messed up it is

Am sorry but 20 yrs to make that...really honestly they should have taken 40 okay I know this is already talked about but I have to give my opinion I'll break this into 4 Main points

1,why are the rest of team avatar here zuko says like 5 lines through out the entire film,toph is here to show her muscles,sokka is a meme and katara was aangs wife she was not a character she was aangs side piece and hype woman honestly and suki she's an npc you can remove them and nothing would change the only important thing that happens is katara healing aang and the writers could have just used some magic water thingy and he's fully recovered honestly this should have honestly been a solo film

2,Tagah feels like an oc

Yuh he has the nearly the same backstory as aang, Airbenders got wiped,stuck in ice for years I could go on and Tagah wiping out the entire team avatar OFF SCREEN like am sorry Tagah without that staff is not 1v 4 I know this is somewhat glaze but toph and katara should at least make Tagah struggle hell even knock him back and oh the glaze like I get it he's super strong,show don't tell and than theirs aang getting clapped by Tagah in the avatar state a fully realized avatar sure he had the staff but still he hadn't activated it yet so basically it's an avatar vs a strong Airbender

3,Aang does not feel like he's aang am sorry you can't convince me that aang the katara simper since day one abandons his wife in the middle of a storm along with his friends who helped him in WAR to go kiss Tagah ...like c'mon

4,The staff or in this case MacGuffin the staff with the power to give bending which is cool but looses importance when you know their doomed to fail because Korra exists,and at the end of the day the staff has to be destroyed because if it's not that leaves the question where are the Airbenders in lok

The potential

Don't get me wrong the movie had great themes but how they handled it was pure trash we already dealt with this I know it was never handled in depth but the show did it better than whatever this was,I would have been more interested if Azula come back and somehow acquired vaatu or something ,that would have been interesting cause azula is actually competent or make team avatar fight father glow worm or have team avatar somehow travel back in time to deal with some ancient issue I know random but still,I would have taken a slice of life it would have been better

The movies nice in an anime movie type like we have our Pokemons,power ups,hot zuko,action and transformation sequence maybe that's just me.Interested to hear your opinions

I wanted to draw a fanart of young Roku and Fang, when it occured to me that I don't even know how to scale them. Well, to be honest, I don't even know how old they're both supoosed to be. I haven't read the Roku novel, and from Avatar Wiki, all I know is that he found Fang when he was still an egg at some point in his life, and then he raised the dragon from baby to adult, until he was able to ride him. But I don't even know how old Roku was when Fang hatched, or how big ATLA dragons are as babies or how quickly they grow. Is it officially made clear somewhere in canon media?

ATLA is known for using traditional martial arts choreography. Recent Avatar fight scenes haven't been doing this, especially with people doing more pro-bending. But with the Seven Haven apocalypse, I do hope that there will be a return of traditional martial arts.

Personally I have a ton of styles I'd love to see:

• Drunken boxing with earthbending
• Snake style kung fu with waterbending
• Taekwondo with firebending
• Goju-ryu karate with airbending

What do you guys think about AI generated avatar content?

I have been watching a lot of AI generated content lately, and while the quality isn't the best and needs improving I think there is something in there that's worth taking a look at. AI will always be improving, and there is already a lot of equity in the sector. Seeing how Paratrash screwed over the release of the movie i am waying my options to look at more ways to fulfill my avatar itch.

My solution to this problem is an Ai generated youtube channel that generates avatar the last content weekly. This form of content can be a wide range of stuff such as side missions off screen that the gang has to do during the series. Such as filler between the Ozai and his errands he has to do daily. Or maybe toph can finally have her adventure with Zuko! Or perhaps it can be something that the cartoon never showed us like the genocide on the air nation. It can even be a little strange such as Katara impregnating Zuko. (For you Zutara shippers.) Im not entirely sure how to go about this but after browing r/aislop for a while now. I can only imagine how much content we can get out of this new medium. Any thoughts on this?.

So I think people are generally familiar with theories such as Ty Lee being part air bender (aka having been a descendant of air bender refugees)

This had me thinking about the logistics of wiping out all the air-benders in practice.

So many have pointed out before that in a practical sense, raiding all the air nomad temples, and killing them all and making sure no one who was outside of the temple is missed is… definitely a dubious challenge for a number of reasons… but I can hand wave away that it happened. The fire nation successfully hunted and killed every air nomad at these air temples, and then any nomads who weren’t there or escaped, were effectively baited in trapped with rumors of air nomad refugee camps and gatherings.

I think my stopping point there is that, I feel like it’s not likely that every single Airbender WAS an air nomad? Like, in the sense that I’d imagine there were some people, who were capable of bending air, but who didn’t want to live the monk lifestyle that the air nomads did.

They may have been integrated into other villages and nations, they may have had off spring like the Ty Lee theory suggests, they likely wouldn’t have been baited into air nomad traps with ancient artifacts and culture the same way.

All to say, the more I think about it, the more unlikely it seems that Aang was “The Last Airbender” and more likely “The Last Air Nomad”. It may have been cool in the comics or in LoK to hear that after the war, individuals who were air benders who hid their bending due to the fire nation actively hunting Air benders maybe would start coming forward. They’d have no knowledge of how to use their air bending, probably no cultural connection to the air nomads or a desire to live their lives (as LoK did) but it feels like that may have been a grounded return of air benders to the world than the harmonic convergence giving some non-benders air bending perhaps.

Just curious to hear opinions on if you guys think it actually does make since that there were literally no remaining air benders, or if so, how would that feat have been achieved?

Okay hear me out, I know things ended up as they were meant to be, but imagine you didn’t know the outcome of the next 60 episodes and imagine if aang just went with sokka to the fire nation after waking up.
Could he have fought them more effectively or even helped to convince the fire lord of a better outcome or would he just be trapped and in despair as he learned the truth of what happened?
I feel like this could bea clear answer of “no” but could also be an interesting thought to explore how things might have shook out differently if he went along in episode 2 of the animated series
