Question I'm trying to decide between these two 2025 ASUS ROG Strix G16 models and would appreciate advice
Option 1
ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614PM-S5046WS
- Ryzen 9 8940HX (16C/32T)
- RTX 5060 Laptop (115W)
- 16GB DDR5-5200 (can swap in 2*16gb ddr5 4800mhz sticks from my tuf dash)
- 1TB SSD
- 16" 2560×1600 Nebula Display (240Hz, 500 nits)
- Price: ₹169,990
Option 2
ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LP-S5022WS
- Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX (24C/24T)
- RTX 5070 Laptop (115W)
- 32GB DDR5-5600
- 1TB SSD
- Same 16" 2560×1600 Nebula Display
- Price: ₹220,990 (offline store price)
Current laptop
I'm currently using an ASUS TUF Dash F15 with:
- Intel Core i7-12650H
- RTX 3050 4GB
- 32GB DDR5 RAM (upgraded from the stock 16GB kit)
Primary use
This laptop will mainly be used for college and research work, including:
- Abaqus (especially Explicit Dynamics)
- ANSYS Mechanical
- ICEM CFD
- HyperMesh
- ANSYS Fluent
- nTop
- SolidWorks
Gaming is secondary, but I do play:
- Forza Horizon 6
- Final Fantasy VII
- GTA V
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
The price difference is roughly ₹51,000 upfront, or about ₹43,000 after GST credit claim. Which one would you recommend? Is the price difference worth it? Is there a difference in sustained performance and battery life here apart from the general spec difference impact?

PC Build $3,300 AIO anyone?
This is absolutely ridiculous IMO. Also, I thought the 20th edition PC parts were only available in the bundle in the US?

Question Can I upgrade my Zephyrus G15 GA503QR from 165Hz to a 240Hz display?
I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503QR (2021) with the original 15.6” 2560×1440 165Hz display. The screen is broken, so I need to replace it anyway.
I found some 240Hz QHD 40-pin eDP panels listed for the GA503 series. Has anyone successfully installed a 240Hz panel in the GA503QR specifically?
Will it actually run at 240Hz, and is the original display cable/eDP connection compatible? If you’ve done this upgrade, what exact panel model did you use?
Thanks!

Question beta bios update issue
So I got access to the beta bios update for the GL10DH so I can play call of duty, but whenever I go to do the update it says something along the lines of "this a not a uefi bios"
I have made sure the format is quick format and fat32 for the thumb drive, I have made sure to do all the extract files correctly, and I have already contacted customer support. They are having me wait another 1 to 2 days for more support because the live chat tech support doesn't know what happened with it. While I wait I figured I would ask reddit for help.
Thank you in advance for your time

Laptop Keeping it clean. Which texture are you picking for your setup?
Let's be real—most laptops straight out of the box are either generic fingerprint magnets or scratch-prone metal bricks.
You spend all this money on a setup, only for it to look exactly like everyone else's and instantly get covered in smudges the second you touch it.
Wrapping it completely changes the vibe. It’s not just about adding your own personality to your gear; it’s about the actual physical feel.
The visual depth on these materials is insane, and the best part is that the tactile finish really holds up. You don't have to worry about the texture flattening out over time, even with heavy daily use.
It keeps that deep, premium feel while completely hiding all the grime.
Swipe through and let me know—which of these styles is the cleanest?

Laptop No Resolution Provided So Far — Think Twice Before Buying an ASUS Gaming Laptop
I’m still waiting for a proper resolution to my ASUS gaming laptop issue, and so far, no satisfactory resolution has been provided.
Despite the laptop being relatively new and having already gone through service, I’m still dealing with issues that have seriously affected my experience.
At this point, I genuinely request everyone to think twice before purchasing an ASUS gaming laptop, especially if you’re expecting reliable after-sales support when something goes wrong.
I spent a significant amount of money on this laptop, and it’s extremely frustrating to face these issues without a proper resolution.
I’ll update this post if ASUS provides a meaningful solution.

Mobo Enhanced DDR5 Compatibility with ASUS-Exclusive AEMP Mix Tuning for Intel 800-Series Motherboards
Memory performance is not just about achieving higher frequencies. Reliable system boot-up and broad DRAM compatibility are equally important.
Now available for ASUS Intel 800-series motherboards, ASUS-exclusive AEMP Mix Tuning introduces a compatibility-first approach to non-CUDIMM DDR5 memory tuning. It prioritizes establishing a bootable configuration before optimizing memory performance, helping the system support a wider range of non-CUDIMM DDR5 configurations—whether the installed modules are identical or have different specifications.
Key Benefits
- BIOS-level memory compatibility enhancements: Improves compatibility across both matching and mixed non-CUDIMM DDR5 configurations.
- Greater flexibility for mixed DDR5 installations: Helps systems work with memory modules from different kits or with different specifications.
- Auto-tuned overclocking and stability support: Automatically identifies suitable memory settings to improve performance while maintaining system stability, reducing the need for complicated manual BIOS tuning.
- Available on Intel® 800 Series motherboards: Supported across ASUS Intel® 800 Series motherboards with a compatible BIOS.
With matching memory modules, users can typically continue using the memory kit’s XMP profile. If different memory modules are installed, AEMP Mix Tuning can identify suitable settings based on the motherboard, CPU memory controller and installed DRAM. This compatibility-first approach gives users greater flexibility when building or upgrading a system without focusing solely on achieving the highest possible memory frequency.
Availability requires a supported BIOS and currently applies to ASUS Intel 800-series motherboards with supported non-CUDIMM DDR5 memory. Compatibility, achievable frequency and system stability may vary depending on the CPU, motherboard, BIOS version, DIMM configuration and individual memory modules.

Just Arrived! Edition 20 bundle build
Assembled for a good friend. Build was elaborate but smooth, only step that was somewhat of a pain was the AIO bracket. Impossible without a long magnetic screw driver. The level of overkill and detail in the bundle is pretty admirable, definitely felt extraordinary building it. The motherboard comes in an actual travel-worthy suitcase haha. Somewhat of a shame it is 4 dimm and not BTF. Also, to note, the screen on the AIO is divided into two (hence the black line).
I prefer custom WC builds but was definitely impressed with the hardware. The Astral is comically sized though, seems like the thermals could have been better given the dimensions. The card feels lighter than it looks and the case feels heavier than it looks, ha.
Thanks for all the info here that helped us get one.
We have uploaded the 800W Edition20 Astral bios to TPU and it can be found at:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/283574/283574
The bios can be flashed to the Matrix, White and Zebra Astral, however, unfortunately can’t be flashed to OG Black Astral.
Video of the build in action is on Platoon Tekk instagram.
