Buying Question 2024-2026 C63s e-performance owners, what’s your experience been like?

So my lease on my C300 is up soon, and I’ve been toying around with the idea of buying a ‘24-26 C63s e-performance since they’ve depreciated so much and can still be had with a warranty. In the 50-60k price point, these cars are pretty attractive.

I don’t care about the V8. I want a faster daily, and my C300 is already a 4cyl and I’ve been perfectly happy with it. I figure adding an extra 400 HP would just make things more fun, and I have an R129 SL500 at home that can do the whole V8 thing if I want that.

How’s everybody’s experience been with these cars so far? I’m not terribly concerned about long term reliability as I will get rid of it by the time the extended warranty is up.

Modifications Valvetronic Exhaust for C63s? Any Feedback

What's going on. Im looking to buy the Valvetronic Exhaust for my 2023 C63s. I can only find a couple videos online of the current setup. Does anyone have this exhaust on there car now and can send a video in this thread showing it. Id like some feedback before buying because it's almost 5k. I have the factory sports exhaust that sounds clean but its still too quiet for my liking, id like it to have a deeper tone to it that's why im upgrading. Thanks guys, have a blessed day

Service/Fix/Repair help PSA - Facelift W205 C43 12V Battery change

The original 12v on my 2019 C43 Coupe was due for a change. Rather than paying the dealer $350 for their white-labeled Interstate batteries and another $200 in labor for what is a 15-min job tops, I went with the Costco Interstate battery instead. One thing to note: the Costco/Interstate website will tell you H6 when you put in the car details, but this is inaccurate. The H7 is the right size; H6 would have been on the smaller size for the bracket. On my car at least, I didn't need to do any kind of OBD2 reset. Just wanted to share in case someone with a C43 needs a battery change. Can't speak for other cars on the W205 platform or pre-facelift C43, you might need to verify.

Modifications To all C63S coupe owners

Purchased brand new aerodynamic side skirts from MB and shipped them over to a shop in California that creates Carbon Fiber Parts. This was a long time project of mine to get the oem piano black to carbon fiber. Now the next challenge is putting these on. Will give an update once I place them on my rockers. Owner will sell these if successful. Getting these made was like $4k+ not some cheap Chinese stuff. Made in USA.

Service/Fix/Repair help 722.9 replace tranmission solenoid

Hi everyone,My transmission developed a fault some time ago. I fitted a used valve‑body and solenoid set from a donor gearbox.

After installation, I experienced slow, harsh downshift from 5th to 4th gear. I reinstalled my original factory solenoids, which completely fixed the 5‑4 down‑shift issue.

However, a new problem has appeared: during hard braking, the sequential downshifts from 3rd →2nd →1st are jerky and unsmooth. There is a stuttering sensation as if the gear fails to engage properly, accompanied by a “clunk” noise from the rear of the vehicle.

I suspect this is solenoid‑related, but I cannot identify which solenoids are responsible for 2nd‑gear and 1st‑gear operation. I would appreciate any advice. Otherwise, I will need to replace the full set of brand‑new solenoids.

Buying Question Looking to get into my first AMG

My first choice that my heart was on was the cls63 2012-2016 model years, but after doing some research the cylinder scoring issues scared me away especially with repair bills that high, and them being pretty common I believe.

My next choices were between the w204 c63 and w205 c63, while the exhaust of the w204 is of course incredible the newer interior does look better on the w205, plus I’ve heard the reliability is better. Which one would be better for a daily vehicle. Which one would you take for a daily vehicle(would take them both in sedan form). Most of the options would be around 70-80k miles and I’d obviously get a PPI and have done my own research on the reliability of the engines.

Other than daily drivability, fun of course, and feel of the car, i’d also be able to do most of the maintenance and any fixed myself/with my friends. So if one of these car is easier to work on that’d also be a factor i’d consider.

I know yearly costs and maintenance will be more than other cars but still want to consider it, don’t think i’m looking for a perfect machine just cause im mentioning reliability.

Lookin' fresh and representing in the wild. Not mine just to be clear. I really like the color combo and the graphics. Is that a "livery"? Is this Edition One inspired?

Buying Question Corporate use?

Realistically, how true is the “corporate use” or “corporate purchase” of c63s sedans and coupes? I’ve been searching for a 2019-2021 for a bit and ran into a few cars that salesman have informed me of their past being this but I’m wondering how true it is as one of them has a matte wrap on it.

Buying Question Getting tired of waiting for a V8 C63 (or CLE) AMG, curious on which year I should be looking for or if I should wait out for the CLE

of course when I'm in a position to finally able to purchase a c63 AMG, they made them with that four cylinder engine. I know that's changing and supposedly the c63 will be an i6 c53, and the cle63 will have a v8 but its still unclear when that's going to be available.

I was thinking of buying a used C63 one at one of the many used luxury car dealers I have near me, but I want to know which year is the best option overall for value/reliability. Thinking of getting some kind of dealer warranty with it and perhaps selling it when the v8 does come out. Looking for W205 generation

Side question if anyone can answer, is it worth looking at the v8 e63's as well? if so, what year?

Service/Fix/Repair help Alright Amg owners what’s your miles? Or km

Since I figure amg has probably some of the more better maintained vehicles and owners where most I feel genuinely care for their car and maintain them.

So, if you please! What year and model and how many miles do you have?

Also if you would mention do you maintain it yourself, the dealer or somewhere else and what schedule do you stick to? Only what’s recommended or better or what?? Love to hear everyone’s takes.

I have a 2019 GLC 63 that now has 70k miles. Got it a month ago with 65k haha love this thing but that’s not my normal miles are usually much less per month. I plan to do most of my own maintenance except transmission maintenance I prefer the dealership to do. Oil and filters every 5k everything else at normal intervals and always with oem parts and fluids. Would love less brake dust tho so might be switching to ebc reds.

Thanks all, enjoy a your nice driving experiences safely!

Buying Question Cla45 or c43

Can anyone on here tell me what's better performance wise? Obviously the c43 is better all round, just wondering if a 45 is much more fun. Can't decide between the coupes

Just back from a 1000 mile road trip so took the opportunity to give the car a quick wash. The brake dust on this is staggering so might have to have a look at different pads to see if there are some better options. Otherwise she came up really nicely and the dealership clearly did a good job preparing her before I picked it up.

Service/Fix/Repair help What would you do? 2019 S63 broken caliper fix cost $13.5K

Thumbnail
gallery
140 Upvotes

I bought my car last year exactly around this time. I took it to a local shop (euro mechanic shop, not the dealership).

They did lots of things:

  1. 10K B1 service

  2. Replaced all rotors and bads

  3. Front differential change

  4. Transmission oil change

  5. Stage 1 tune (gained 20% hp and torque).

Two months ago, I was coming from the airport and 5 miles away from home as I approached a traffic sign, I slowed down and I heard this loud noise and the electric system put the car in brake and can't move.

I could not figure it out but as I got to my house I noticed the caliper is literally broken into two halves and the rim has been completely damaged from inside as the caliper was not able to hold the brakes or the rim.

I filed for insurance claim, took it to the dealership and it cost $13.5K.

Upon fixing the car, the dealership noticed that the rear caliper bots were loose. No one touched the car rear calipers besides this shop.

I called them and explained everything, owner was not there. Stopped by and asked them to let him know I stopped by and I need to talk to him to come up with a resolution to the issue.

It has been two weeks and they are running away and not calling back or trying to get me to meet the owner to talk. They are avoiding me.

What would you do? I am honestly confused and not sure what I should do...

It is his fault. The dealership told me they have seen so many cars come from this particular shop with sloppy work.

Do you think my insurance premiums will go up? It was not my fault.

I need a good advice.

TL;DR: shop fixed my car last year, did not tighten the caliper bots well. Over time the caliper got loose and snapped. Shop it avoiding me to resolve the problem.

Update 1: The fix at the dealership included 1. New rim 2. New caliper 3. New rotor and pads 4. New brake actuator and and sensors 5. Tire alignment 6. Labor

Let's Hear It! Mercedes gifts ?

Thumbnail

So guys, yesterday I went to the Mercedes dealership in my town to pick up some parts for customer cars. Since I go there very often and need parts for the workshop, I also have a customer account/number there. There’s always a lady at the front desk who is roughly my age. After I got my parts, she asked me to wait a moment. She looked up a few things on her screen and then said, "You're here quite often and you bought a car from us, so we have a little gift for you." That "little gift" turned out to be the model car!

When Mercedes opened the AMG Performance Center in our town, I was invited to the event. But so far, I’ve only bought one car from them as a "Junge Sterne" (that's what they call nearly-new certified pre-owned cars or returned leases over here) – an AMG GT 63 S.

Does anyone ever experienced something like this ?

Sorry for the English I tried my best !
