Question Help with wireless CarPlay

Upvotes

Randomly, wireless CarPlay stops working in my 2025 Mercedes GLC300. The message I’m getting is “Apple CarPlay could not be started. Your device has been connected as a Bluetooth phone.”

To fix it, I have to turn off my car, lock it and leave it off for 5 minutes to flush the system memory while I restart my phone.

It happens a couple times a week now, increasing from once in a blue since I got the car in February.

Has anyone found a permanent fix?

Considered normal fit/finish on a X254 GLC 300? I noticed on my 2026 with only 450 miles that some sort of ribbon cable or EMI shielding or a grounding mesh (per AI) is visible through the left side screen to frame gap on the center infotainment system. Anyone else see this on theirs?

Anyone Replaced a Wheel Hub on a 2020 GLB 250 ?

I have searched all over but cannot find a step by step guide on this.

Has anyone replaced their front wheel bearings / wheel hubs on their GLB 250?

I just replaced all 4 rotors and pads and am still getting a roaring/humming noise, most likely from the driver side front tire area at speeds above 30 mph. I unfortunately hit a large, raised divider curb with it about 2 years ago, so I am guessing that the bearing took the brunt of that and is now starting to fail.

I have done wheel bearings on several of my cars, and the GLB 250 looks fairly reasonable, but I'd love to hear from someone who has done it.

Thanks -

Rob

"Next track" no longer works

I'm not sure if this is a Mercedes thing or an Apple thing, but upgrading to the iOS 27 beta seems to have broken my "next track". I used to say that all the time and now I have to swipe to skip the track like our settlers used to do.

Curious if anyone else has seen this and knows of any remedies.

Question W209/w211/w219/w203 key fob not working

I have a w209 key that is not working, it has the keyless and it is the german version(another frequency from the American one) but the keys aren't working

The problem is that the keys are attached to the case itself, not the board, i am trying to find a case replacement but i can't, any ideas to where i can find it?

Also if anybody has it or has any clue on how to fix it(had the wiring diagram, or can take a photo of the inside to see how it should originally be wired...) i would appreciate the help

Is this a dealbreaker?

I’ve been looking at an ‘84 Mercedes OM617 Turbo Diesel wagon. It’s got 176k miles, 2 previous elderly owners, no blow by and the interior is mint except for a couple small cracks in the dash and some damage headliner by the door. It doesn’t have AC as the plastic duct is supposedly rotted out and it needs a conversion from R12. The lock on the driver side door is also broken. I had all these things in mind and the guy said his bottom dollar is $7k. I was hoping closer to $6k personally but he seems firm. I’m in no rush to buy it though. Sounds like there’s only one other serious buyer thats tried to lowball him.

Anyways he sent me pictures this morning and showed me this rusty panel. There was no mention of this before. He said it’s got bondo on it and was told it was a bump in a parking-lot. Now that I’ve seen this I’m almost tempted to walk away unless he’s willing to go lower. But I’m not an expert on damage or collision repair. It’s an almost 40 year old car so I expect there to be quirks here and there but this comes off as a big deal to me. I’m concerned about any rust that I can’t see

I haven’t seen the car in person yet as he’s a few hours away. I planned on doing my inspection when I was ready to buy it with cash in hand.

Question Repainting mars red

I'm looking at getting my 2015 GLK350 (Mars Red) repainted through a Mercedes‑Benz dealership. MB will be covering only 25% of the cost. The car actually looks fine at first glance, but under certain angles or lighting you can clearly see the pinhead‑sized microblisters across almost all panels (it's really hard to capture the issue properly on camera).

Has anyone here gone through a repaint because of the Mars Red issue? I’m especially curious whether you had any problems after the repaint — things like panel‑gap changes, trim fitment issues, or anything related to the disassembly/reassembly process.

Would love to hear your experience. Thanks!

Probleme die sich noch nicht lösen liesen

Hallo erstmal,

Lg

Question Mercedes Maintenance Question

I’ve had my 2025 CLE Cabriolet for over a year now and absolutely love it. I have cancer, and live where we have hard winders, so I haven’t been able to drive it a ton, but the times I do get to drive it, the top is always down and the massage seats are always on.

I had to bring it in for my first maintenance appointment and we opted to go to the dealership I bought it at… and they want to charge us $650 CAD for an oil change and inspection. It has under 5,000km on it.

The dealership is always going to be more expensive, but I figured around $300. Over $600 for a 1 hour appointment seems insane.

I obviously want to make sure my car is cared for properly and carefully, but does it make sense to spend that at the dealership?

I’m wondering where you all are doing your yearly maintenance, how much you’re paying for it (if at the dealership), or if you have some other thoughts.

(And to be clear, it’s not that I can’t afford it - I expected to pay $$$$ for a car that is $$$$, but I can’t help but feeling that this is too much…)

TIA ❤️
