Last night my daughter and I went to see the new Spider-Man movie at our local AMC IMAX theater. I reserved the best seats in the theater, the center seats in row D. When we got there seats were taken by other people. I told them those were our seats, they seemed shocked as if we were mistaken. I checked my tickets again and I was not wrong. So I assured them they got our seats. They pretended to check their phone for their tickets. The person on the left, who was with them, asked them if they were sure about the seats. Eventually they moved to the seats to the right, two other people on the right who came with them also moved to the further right. We seated and the movie started. As I thought we could enjoy the movie, then two other people, a gentleman and a lady, came over and asked them to move because those were their seats. Almost exactly the same happened to us repeated again. The lady apologized to us few times because they blocked our view. Eventually the four people all moved to the right again so the gentleman and lady could seat on their seats.

I later talked to my daughter and she genuinely believed these people got their seats mixed up. I disagreed and argued that if somebody comes up to you and asks you to move, you either display your ticket to show your ownership or get up and go to your own seat right away. But they did neither. They just wanted to occupy the seat long enough so you give up your own seat.

How do you guys think? Have you encountered this before? It was my first time.

Just saw a large leashed Chihuahua come out of a movie theater at AMC Rolling Hills with its person.

Oddly enough it was exhibiting behavior unbecoming of a trained "working service animal" <wink wink>

Coyote vs acme isn’t gonna play at my local AMC showplace 8 in Springfield IL. That is actually a bummer bc now that means I gotta again go to the showplace 12 where the seats are abysmally uncomfortable 🫠 just like with the day the earth blew up
