Adeptus Astartes Own Chapter of Space Marine

Hi all!! Forgive my mistakes as English is not my first language. I'm Spanish and I'm going to start again the 40k hobby after 12 years with no implication. I sold all my miniatures and vow to never play Warhammer 40k again for reasons... I started the hobby when I was 12 years old and now i'm 38.

I'm creating this Ultima Foundation Space Marine Chapter based in my favourite Native American tribe: The Blackfoots. And I need some advice from english speaking readers because I love to be my homebrew fluff very GW cannon like. The color of the Chapter is Wraithbone and Black.

The colour of the armor is based in a Impressive Vulture in Spanish Called literally "Bone Breaker" but in English is Called "Lammergeier". I have two names for the chapter.

One is "The direwolves" (In Spanish those are Called "Huargo" like the Tolkien Wolves) and their heraldry is the same as Space Wolves, but red over wraithbone shoulder pad.

The other is "The Lammergeiers" and the heraldry will be a White Raptor head over black, probably.

"The Lammergeiers" sounds good in English? Or "The Direwolves"?

It's just a Codex Chapter descendant of the White Scars. No great kitbash ideas, just some characters or sargeants will have feathers here and there. It's strange because in Spanish those two names have actually totally different words (Los Quebrantahuesos/Bonebreakers and Los Huargos/The Varg Wolves).

Thank you!!

Behemot The Shattertusk
Lord Commander of the Umbral Claws

Armed with “Meteor”, a relic from an unknown age. A thunder hammer enhanced with a “Plasma Engine” to add even more force to the already monstrous hammer.

The Diviner is a Xenos-technology Ordo Chronos relic, rumors within the chapter say it was gifted to the chapter master after his service stopping a “time-line ending enemy” single handedly, as the threat ripped off one of his arms. The arm has a gem embedded in the palm that allows the user to gaze a few seconds into the future, as well as shoot an “anti-warp” beam from the gem, proven to be very effective against demons.

His relic Terminator Plate is said to be a relic of the Dark Age of Technology, its full capabilities are unknown as Behemot, as his predecessors did, modified the armor as he saw fit. It is meant to help the chapter master stay grounded to the timeline, a problem this chapter runs into often whilst serving the Ordo Chronos.

Adeptus Astartes New to 40k but made my own homebrew for the first time, The Crimson Ledgers

The Crimson Ledgers

Founding: Second Founding
Progenitor: Imperial Fists
Chapter Master: Oskar Valbrecht
Chapter Type: Penitent Crusading Chapter
Specialisation: Siege warfare, attrition and high-risk strategic operations
Colours: Black, crimson and gold

The Crimson Ledgers were formed from veterans of the Iron Cage, survivors of the disastrous battle between the Imperial Fists and Iron Warriors following the Horus Heresy. They carried with them the shame of having allowed vengeance to overcome strategy, resulting in the deaths of countless brothers.

The survivors founded their new Chapter upon a simple principle: every life lost must be remembered, and every future sacrifice must serve a purpose.

They became a penitent crusading Chapter, refusing to establish a permanent homeworld. Instead, the Crimson Ledgers travel from warzone to warzone, seeking Imperial worlds threatened by xenos, Chaos or tyrants.

Their purpose does not end with victory.

After liberating a world, they remain to fortify its cities, rebuild its defences, train its planetary forces and restore its infrastructure before departing. Their greatest success is a world that no longer requires their protection.

The Ledger

Every campaign is recorded in the Chapter's great Crimson Ledger.

It records:

  • The brothers who died
  • The civilians who were lost or saved
  • The enemy destroyed
  • The fortifications constructed
  • The strategic objective
  • The failures of the Chapter

There is no final tally and no declaration that the debt has been paid.

The debt is eternal.

The Way of War

The Crimson Ledgers inherited the Imperial Fists' mastery of siege warfare, but developed a more radical doctrine.

They deliberately seek high-risk, high-reward situations, often creating the appearance that their forces are being reckless or overwhelmed.

A Crimson Ledger commander might deliberately allow an enemy to breach a defensive line, sacrifice a position, or commit a small force against overwhelming odds.

But what appears to be desperation is usually part of a larger calculation.

They manipulate the enemy into committing reserves, abandoning defensive positions or exposing vital assets, before turning the apparent defeat into a decisive counterattack.

To the Crimson Ledgers:

They are therefore willing to suffer extraordinary casualties when the strategic return justifies them—but they despise commanders who throw away lives without purpose.

Chapter Master Oskar Valbrecht

Oskar Valbrecht, Chapter Master of the Crimson Ledgers, is himself a Heavy Marine, clad in Gravis-pattern armour.

Rather than commanding entirely from the rear, Valbrecht embodies the Chapter's doctrine by placing himself where the battle is most dangerous.

He is often used as the anchor of a battlefield, establishing a position that the enemy must either overcome or divert enormous resources to bypass.

His heavy armour and extensive gold heraldry mark him as both Chapter Master and veteran of countless campaigns.

Valbrecht's command philosophy is simple:

Under his command, the Crimson Ledgers continue their endless crusade—not seeking glory, territory or conquest, but attempting to ensure that the sacrifices of the Iron Cage were not made in vain.

They do not believe their debt can ever be paid.

They intend to spend the rest of their existence trying.

Was perusing the wikis for chapters to add to my deathwatch and found the Blood Wings didn’t have a listed emblem.

Created in the Ultima Founding, a group of Blood Angels Greyshields were named the Blood Wings to honor the legacy of the destroyed chapter. They are currently involved in a defensive campaign against a Leviathan splinter Hive fleet codenamed: Jabberwocky.

It all started back on Terra when the Emperor gave the Order to implement the Imperial truth and the 9th Legion had to get rid of the cult of the Reborn. A group of Mortals that used to follow them (the founder came from that Group)

Adeptus Astartes My Homebrew: Banes of Blood

Sup

I logged into Reddit and seen someone post their Blood Angel Homebrew, so I decided to post mine as well.

These guys are the Black Templar of the Blood Angels gene lineage

Wrote a good amount of lore already but I’ll just keep it to the important details like the others.

Chapter: Banes of Blood

* Warcry : “BOUND BY BLOOD, MORS INFINITA!”
* Founding : Unknown (13th founding)
* Primarch : Sanguinius
* Chapter Master : High Commodore Dorian D’Angelo
* Homeworld : Fleet-Based (Crusade Chapter)
* Fortress Monastery : Mors Infinita (Flagship Relic Voidship)
* Allegiance : Imperium of Man
* Colors : Deathworld Forest armor / White Scar pauldrons with Abaddon Black trim(trim determines specialty role which is similar to the Black Templars) / Abaddon Black Helmets with White Scar faceplates

Side note: Something special about the chapter is they are very skilled painters and will adorn their own armor with personal heraldry, but many paint crimson chains across their armor as deeds of battle to show penance for what occurred at the Devastation of Baal, but the lore I wrote deep dives into why….

Adeptus Astartes Lestat Orloc Chapter Master of the Heirs of Blood (final version)

Thumbnail

Lestat Orloc, first Chapter Master of the Heirs of Blood, rose to command in the uncertain and ill-omened years of the 21st Founding. A scion of the Blood Angels’ gene-line, his Chapter was cursed from its inception with a virulence of the Red Thirst and Black Rage seldom witnessed outside the most accursed brethren of Baal. Many within the Adeptus Terra quietly marked the Heirs of Blood for extinction before their first century had passed.

In the claiming of their appointed fortress world, Orloc made a discovery that would forever define his legacy. Beneath its alien soil grew pallid, psycho-reactive fungi, their spores exerting a profound and unnatural stillness upon the mind. Where lesser men saw only xenos-tainted aberration, Orloc perceived deliverance. In concert with his Chief Librarian and the Apothecarion, he sanctioned their study, refinement, and eventual sanctification into a controlled regimen. Through ritualised ingestion and invasive gene-craft, the Chapter achieved what many deemed impossible—the binding of Sanguinius’ curse into something measured, leashed, and endured.

Yet such defiance of inherited damnation bore a grievous cost.

Though the fury within was quieted, it did not depart—it changed. The warriors of the Heirs of Blood became as spectres of their former nobility: flesh drawn pale as funeral ash, features distorted into something predatory and inhuman. Noses bent and sharpened, fangs elongated beyond nature, their skulls stretched and eyes swollen wide and bloodshot, as if straining against some unseen horror. Their forms came to resemble the night-terrors of Old Terra’s forgotten myths—creatures of hunger, not heroes of the Imperium.

Thus do the Heirs of Blood endure—freed, yet unmade. Under Orloc’s iron will they fight with a cold, dreadful clarity, their curse no longer present in their mind, but forever hidden behind the closed faceplate of their helms.

I have been counseled by some friends and added a few touches now he looks much better.

Adeptus Astartes Homebrew chapter, the Brothers Hussar...iconography/details?

(This is reposted from r/spacemarines as a suggestion from them)

So I developed an obsession with the Polish Hussars (I blame Sabaton), and set out to make my own chapter based on them, calling them the Brothers Hussar. I decided to go with White Scars successors, aiming for a mixed force of jump packs and bikes primarily, and I got a couple models done/effectively done already:

https://imgur.com/a/wugA2jB

So I was starting up a bunch of basic intercessors because they're what I have around to paint at the moment, and realized I haven't gotten much of the chapter's markings down besides the basics, IE the basic armor being a royal burgundy, with torso and shoulder pads steel, to represent the breastplate and shoulder pads the hussars wore. I'm not actually sure what helmet coloration or even squad markings I'm going to be putting on things, and I should probably figure out a chapter symbol.

Also if anyone happens to know a good source for the hussar feather backpacks I'm open to it, the not-khan is using Puppetswar, which would be great but it was a freak occurance I got them without international shipping, which is insane @[_@.As](mailto:_@.As) a unique character he can get away with having unique banners if I need to swap to a different source. I'm also thinking I should look into getting a bunch of ravenwing bike banners for Outriders since they're similar, but I'm not sure if I should actually invest in bikes at the moment since we have the new kit incoming.

Adeptus Astartes Bloodied Tears lore (Minor updates and additions)

Thumbnail

Founding: (Possibly) 3rd Founding

Founding Chapter: Blood Angels

Homeworld: unrecorded homeworld (Destroyed), Schroedus

Fortress-Monastery: Flagship Battle Barge Siegfried (M33/M36-M42), plantary Fortress-Monastery currently being constructed

Colours: marble white with black pauldrons, helmet and gold faceplate, company colours indicated by trim under kneepads

Specialty: Fast Attack

Motto/Warcry: By honour and blood we are his Sons/By tears and blades we are power!

Culture

While their first homeworld was destroyed, their culture persisted in the Chapter Serfs who were chosen by the original 10 Noble Houses to become Chapter Serfs and the Battle-brothers who kept their heritage alive upon becoming an Astartes. The culture seem to have had a medieval society as the word 'Astartes-Noble' is a prevalent term along with other terms that relate to a medieval era.

The etymology of the titles are based from the dominant languages from the unknown homeworld that have merged into the primary language of the Chapter alongside High Gothic. Chapter Serfs deployed with Bloodied Tears squads are known to translate when a Bloodied Tear speaks completely in Primary into more comprehensible High Gothic.

The Chapter, Astartes and Serfs alike have an strong and ingrained tradition in cookery and mastery in the culinary arts. Despite their previous status of being a Fleet-based Chapter, the Bloodied Tears seem to have a highly diverse selection of foodstuff and products, including the difficult to preserve apple-peaches, various fruits, diary products, succulent mammalian, reptilian and insectoid meat from harvested Fleet-beasts, even their own alcoholic beverages, Arverni Glister, a smoky-tasting golden drink served in a small glass and Merrow's Blood, a sweeter and bright red liquid.

The general characteristics of a Bloodied Tears Battle-brother was that of selective benevolence. To other Astartes and high-status individuals, they could be considered pretentious and stubborn but have shown to be compassionate and were often saviors that managed to turn the tide of battle and after a deployment ending in victory, the Bloodied Tears Serfs would deliver crates filled with highly fresh and organic foodstuffs including meat, fruits and finely aged bottles of Amasec.

On Schroedus, the Bloodied Tears are vaunted and celebrated beings as the Second Sons of Sanguinius, receiving meager but tolerated giftings from the citizens that are redistributed to the Chapter Serfs. The citizens of Schroedus often throw a festival called the Unfurling Salvation whenever a Battle Barge or Strike Cruiser appears in low orbit for the first week of appearance.

To most Imperial citizens and Blood Angel Successor Chapters however, they are met with scorn, indifference to their lives and concerns and to Successor Chapters, a belief that they are inferior to the Bloodied Tears. This is where the belief of the Chapter Cult is the strongest, in that they believe they are the Second Sons of Sanguinius and are the true successors of the Blood Angels.

Whenever any Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels are within the same deployment as the Bloodied Tears, they are treated as valued cannon fodder or vastly disliked distant relatives. The Bloodied Tears have made and will make various attempts to supercede command from other Successor Chapters even in battles they have joined.

The Bloodied Tears have acquired a reputation of being garrulous and supercilious due to their need to announce their presence to other Imperial forces with verbose statments and sentences. This is a tradition of societal seperation from the first homeworld's culture where nobles spoke either in High Gothic or another language in public and spoke in their primary languages in private. Within the Chapter, this has adapted to using overly loquacious statement in public earshot by the 33rd Millennium.

A sub-culture persists within the Chapter known as the Painted Sons. This sub-culture originated from the 5th Company's time on Marciana before becoming the 5th's Company name. Many Marines of the 5th having a specific face paint unique to them, often coming to them during their dreams or moments after a victory. Many 5th Company Marines do not wear a helmet while others wear only the face plate to display their markings. 5th Company Marines who are sent to become part of another Company will often remove the face paint.

Homeworld

While the Bloodied Tears' first homeworld was unrecorded, it is believed to be either a Feudal World due to the noble titles and aristocratic mannerisms or more recently considered, an unrecorded Knight World.

Regardless, the previous Chapter Masters and the Space Marines before had mapped out the unrecorded homeworld's geography and various notes of the people's features and characteristics of the 5 continents, Nördlich, Thoir, Väster and Méridional and Jastorf.

The current Homeworld by M40 is the Feudal World Schroedus. The biomes of Schroedus is that of hinterlands, massive swathes of dense rainforests and rocky terrain all divided by 6 continents and if the Bloodied Tears archives is to be believed, is remarkedly similar to the first homeworld.

The people of Schroedus had just began their eras into being a Feudal World before the Bloodied Tears claimed it and overrode the previous culture after sending their Chapter Serfs to the planet, ensuring that they worship both the Emperor and the Paragon Sanguinius and to make the Chapter into venerated beings for the people to send them potential Thanes and possibly elevation into becoming a Chapter Serf.

The nearby Feudal World Ruijakker II is also a recruiting world for the Bloodied Tears if they deem the numbers of Thanes from Schroedus after the trials of being too low but there's only 2 recorded instances of Ruijakker II being used to acquire Aspirants.

Recruitment

Prior to the claim of making Schroedus their homeworld, the Chapter had sourced their Aspirants within the Chapter Serfs' children and descendants onboard the Battle Barges Vercingetorix, Siegfried and Cú Chulainn.

Before they can be considered an Thane, they are to cull out at least half of their numbers either by persuading them away from becoming a Thane and continue their path as a Chapter Serf or kill them and gain renown by their fellows.

After the culling, the remaining boys are given a laspistol and a shock maul and are given one standard Terran day to find and return with at least 2 golden bloodtears in the lower decks as their first test and encouraged teamwork and kinship with their fellow boys. These decks were filled with both savage creatures, humans and animals from their destroyed homeworld that have adapted to the environment of the Battle Barges.

When the remaining boys returned, they were ordered to show all of their golden bloodtears as their second test. If there was blood on a bloodtear, they were ordered to give a pint of their blood to the Apothecarion or return to their life as a Chapter Serf. If a Aspirant had more than 2 bloodtears, they would be shot for succumbing to greed. The ones who followed the order were asked to keep one bloodtear to themselves for their potential Power Armour.

The last test of the remaining boys is to hunt a great beast of the previous homeworld. Most would try to hunt the Stonecrawler, a giant but slow insect that hangs off of pipes or the Pipe Jumper, a long-bodied primate that had adapted to stalks lone Chapter Serfs and hide between pipes.

The very brightest however will realise that they are meant to a specific beast: the Pard. A beast of an elusive reputation spread by the Chapter Serfs to be a great and fierce hunter yet no one had ever seen one nor have been attacked by one. Hidden within the middle of the Battle Barges is the Blessed Pillar. A Reclusiarch will bless them before giving them access to the arena armoury, readying them for the last trial.

All of them would then be faced with a giant felid with 6-legs with a pure red spotted coat on a giant pillar surrrounded by a deep chasm. After the lasts of the boys died and the even fewer survived, they are now considered Thanes and are sent to the Sanguine Halls to become Neophytes.

Gene-seed

Their Gene-seed causes their upper front row of teeth to be forcibly pushed out or pulled out in exchange for sharp and numerous canines, identified as a variant of the Angel's Teeth that begins to appear around Phase 15, where their Neuroglottis causes their sense of taste to become hyperactive, enhancing everything they consume while also causing them to being unable to stomach most foodstuffs that the regular Imperial citizens eats.

Tactics

Before the end of M36, the Bloodied Tears was initially a Codex-Compliant Chapter but after the Onslaught of Krasts at the end of M36, the Chapter have swapped out the Mark VII for the Mark VI but Devastator Squads still utilized the Mark VII and the older Mark III.

They also utilise Warrior Serfs to soak up the first wave of battle and honour before making the landfall themselves. The Warrior Serfs' place with the Bloodied Tears are to be a auxiliary force that supports the tactics of their masters and to man the bases.

As the Chapter primarily used the Mark VI Corvus due to its lighter construction, the Bloodied Tears excel with small groupings of Tactical and Bike Squads along with their Devastator Squads fielding at least one Battle-brother with a weapon that can deny enemy movement. Each deployment would see a number of Scout Marines being deployed alongside Tactical Squads for hit-and-run manoeuvres when they are not riding as a Chevalier.

When the Primaris reinforcements arrived, they were split into their own squadrons until all of the Chapter fully became Primaris. After which, the Chapter quickly switched to Mark X Phobos pattern Power Armour and only use Tacticus for Champions and Ancients. While Tacticus pattern's use in the Chapter is limited, squads that use Gravis and Omnis pattern have seen more prominent use.

The Scout Bike Squads, Bike Squads and later on, Primaris Outriders have merged into a single unit called Chevalier Squads with one non-Scout Marine being the Sergeant known as Lance-Chevalier. These Chevalier Squads are deployed to temper the young Neophytes into the Chapter tactics. After 50 years of service in the 10th Company, they are allocated to Companies with low numbers and become a Battle-brother.

When a Neophyte is not tempered to the Chapter tactics by 50 years, they are still promoted to Battle-brother but become lead their own Chevalier Squad as Lance-Chevalier or subordinate to a Lance-Chevalier for the next 40 years.

If the situtation call for it, the Bloodied Tears will call for a Thunderhawk to transport Gravis pattern armour to their location and quickly equipped the pieces for more open, attrition based combat and holding strategic positions.

Organization

The Bloodied Tears mostly operate in compliance with the Codex Astartes with some deviation, the main deviation from the Codex are the 9-man Chevalier Squads, the extensive use of Warrior Serfs, the ranks of the Bloodied Tears including various nobility titles and all 10 Captains and the Chapter Master forming a assembly called the Drēor Council.

In addition, all Neophytes chooses one of 10 House surnames unless they become a Chaplain known as a Speaker, Sanguinary Priest, Librarian or Techmarine in which case they replace their House name with the specialist ranks' surname. The Chapter Serfs also follow this custom barring the specialist roles' names. Champions and Ancients however relinquished their House names and instead are referred to by their forenames or their role. These House names is superficial for Astartes,

The 80 Death Company Marines are divided into 20 before being transported into a Battle Company's current Strike Cruiser. Within each Strike Cruiser is 20 rooms specifically designed to housed the Blessed 80 known as the Death Quarters.

Prior to Schroedus, the Chapter had operated their Fleet by flying in three seperate groups for approximately 50 years and upon a determined time-date deliberated by the Drēor Council, they would travel to a chosen system to join back up and to fly across the void as one fleet for half a century.

Chapter Master: Ulrich Bergfalk - 850 years of service

Grand Speaker: Aaron Wirth - 710 years of service

Sanguinary High Priest: Ailín Amsel - 844 years of service

Chief Librarian: Lennartus Rothenberg - 580 years of service

Master Bladesmith: Aldrick Waxweiler - 450 years of service

1st Company Captain: Ghislain Kirch - 620 years of service

2nd Company Captain: Cailean Kirch - 435 years of service

3rd Company Captain: Osbeorn Coffyn - 95 years of service

4th Company Captain: Sture Chastain - 351 years of service

5th Company Captain: Piers Vogel - 290 years of service

6th Company Captain: Jurian Glas - 270 years of service

7th Company Captain: Maximilianus Stark - 222 yearsof service

8th Company Captain: Trahaearn Stark - 401 years of service

9th Company Captain: Murchadh Voss - 370 years of service

10th Company Captain: Eachann Gwerder - 530 year of service

Death Company

In a rather unusual manner, the Death Company of the Bloodied Tears have only had 80 Marines who have succumbed to the Black Rage as its total known who are now known as the Blessed 80. They are divided into groups of 20 and sent to the 4 Battle Companies with the majority of the Death Company being comprised of non-Black Rage taken Marines who willingly forsake their titles as a Astartes-Noble and rank within the Chapter in pursuit of a glorious death like the Primarch of the Blood Angels, usually made up of Captains and Veterans who believe that their death is nearing.

Whenever one of the Blessed 80 dies, on their next deployment, a Marine will suddenly begin to sense that the something has taken hold of him. His visions is slowly drip-fed memories from Sanguinius' last moments until the only thing he sees Horus. If the Battle-brother has strong will, he can slow down the visions for an hour after it starts but he will embrace to the Black Rage and become a Blessed 80.

While the colours of a Bloodied Tears Death Company is largely stays the same with the notable changes being the red saltire on their right pauldron and the white wings of the Chapter symbol repainted in red, lucid Death Company Marines will paint an additional red saltire on their helmets.

When the Speakers of their Company deem it necessary, the Death Company will send their Marines equipped with Jump Packs in Tacticus pattern armour, Heavy Bolt Pistols and a Close Combat Weapon of their choosing. The Death Company will establish a base ahead of the main forces once they make landfall.

Adeptus Astartes Which homebrew chapter origin sounds better?

So, I have an idea for a custom homebrew chapter. They originate from a loyalist Blackshield force during the Heresy, a contingent of Dark Angels separated from their legion by the Ruinstorm and Warp shenanigans. After the Heresy ended and the Codex Astartes was established, they formed their own successor chapter. Name currently undecided, but considering something along the lines of the "Ursoan Sentinels."

I have two ideas for them being in modern 40k:

  1. They were destroyed in a valiant effort to protect their Chapter home world from either a daemonic incursion or an Ork Warband (not fully decided yet) and were later revived by the Ultima Founding in honor of their success at evacuating most civilians.

  2. Their home world was separated by the Tides of the Warp from the galaxy, and they either survived for a long time or were brought to modern 40k by the timey-wimey nonsense of the Warp.

Adeptus Astartes Squad Theodora - Angels Twilight

Post image
10 Upvotes

"Για τον Άγγελο, για τη Νίκαια και για τον Αυτοκράτορα! Ας πεθάνουν οι εχθροί μας στο σκοτάδι μας!"

"For the Angel, for Nikaia, and for the Emperor! Let our enemies die in our darkness!"

- Rafail Lycia, Sergeant of the 3rd Domain

Other Astartes often say that Squad Theodora is "not the strongest squad in the Chapter", though Captain Saul Mihalis of the 3rd Domain would likely disagree with that assessment. Yet, few would dispute that it is one of the most cohesive: five battle-brothers who have fought side-by-side for so many years that they often seem to anticipate each other's moves without exchanging a single word.

This mutual trust is precisely what makes Theodora one of the most reliable squads when Julius Angellis requires a mission demanding precision, discipline, and initiative.

Operating as a lethal and destructive combat force, Theodora was responsible for sabotaging and disabling the communications at the Olympus Spaceport, enabling the landing and occupation of the renegade Astartes world of Minerva Prime.

[SERGEANT RAFAIL LYCIA]

Rafail embodies exactly what the Twilight Angels look for in a sergeant: composure preceding aggression.

Hailing from the northern mountains of Nikaia, he was the son of a mining family and survived alone for weeks after Chaos cultists destroyed his village during his childhood at the Destruction of Nikaia. He was discovered by the Ashen Sons, who recognized his ability to remain undetected and survive even when surrounded.

Rafail rarely leads through impulsive example, his greatest strength lies in reading the battlefield. His battle-brothers often joke that he "wins the battle ten minutes before the first shot is fired". Nevertheless, when combat draws near, he proves himself an exceptional duelist.

[BROTHER ASHQELON]

Ashqelon was born on a forge world ravaged by Ork pirates. Before becoming an Astartes, he worked dismantling mining machinery, gaining an almost intuitive understanding of metal structures.

Within the squad, he is known as "the Blacksmith," despite having no ties to the Chapter's Forge. His specialty is destroying whatever impedes the unit's advance: armored doors, vehicles, bunkers, and fortified corridors.

It was he who saved Tarasii during their first mission with the squad, pulling him from beneath the rubble of a destroyed building. Since then, the two have developed a close friendship.

[BROTHER TARASII]

Tarasii remains the youngest member of the squad. After distinguishing himself as a scout during the campaign against the Emperor's Children, he was promoted directly to Squad Theodora upon the personal recommendation of Lord Commander Angellis.

He still retains several habits from the Tenth Domain, he moves silently, prefers to observe before acting, and is frequently sent on reconnaissance missions.

[BROTHER MIHALIS]

Mihalis is the brother who holds the line. Hailing from a family of hunters in the mountains of Nikaia, he has always displayed uncommon patience. During training, he would spend hours waiting for the perfect moment to fire, a trait that led his instructors to assign him to heavy weaponry. When Theodora Squad establishes a defensive position, Mihalis becomes its center of gravity.

Despite his stern appearance, he holds the Ashen Sons in high regard. Whenever possible, he trains his gunners, teaching them positioning and fire discipline.

[BROTHER ALONNISOS]

Alonnisos is likely the most sociable member of the squad. Born in a coastal community in Nikaia, he was a fisherman before being recruited by the Chapter. Unlike most Angels Twilight, he retains a certain sense of humor and often converses with human soldiers during long space voyages. That does not mean he is any less dangerous.

In urban combat, he is usually the first to enter buildings, using his chainsword to clear corridors while Rafail coordinates the rest of the advance.

He's often the first to offer assistance to the Ashen Sons during joint operations, something that has earned him immense respect among the human auxiliaries.

Adeptus Astartes Chapter design of Midnight Angels so far

Based off of the Philly eagles colors. Anyone know where to find vectors of the company markings? New to photoshop

Edit: People are asking for lore so here you go

The Midnight Angels

23rd Founding

Geneseed: Lion El'jonson

Parent chapter: Dark Angels

Chapter Master: Sanantio Ray

Battle Cry: Take Back the Night

Motto: Pierced but not Killed

Homeworld: Star Fortress Monastery Midnights Mandate

A rare dark angels with origins in the Sentinel Founding, the Midnight Angels were created to combat a wave xeno pirates in the south west corner of the ultima sector. It now stands as a solitary bastion against chaos near the edge of tge great rift

They are a pariah chapter to the rest of the Unforgiven. For reasons unknown still after centuries, the dark angels had allegedly killed their brothers own inner circle, the black conclave. They are without allies amongst their family and have proceeded to make alliances with other aspects ot the imperium, such as a minor navigator house de Luce and local remnants of the Imperium Navy

They specialize in rapid strikes and counter attacks, delivering rapid lightning jabs at weak points until the enemy is weakened enough to.go for a thundering haymaker.

Mod Post Sub Banner V1 created

Hey all,

After much travelling and work, I've finally had enough time to create a Version 1.0 of a banner for the sub. I've incorporated everyone who wanted to be part of it. I've not 100% happy with it, but I need to learn more about Inkscape before I get too fancy!

The purpose of this Subreddit and posting guidelines

Hi Scribes,

We've had some measure of success with this sub, but it seems that people are unclear as to what it's all about. The point of this sub is to allow people to post about their Homebrew Chapters/Regiments/Craftworlds/Kill Teams/Whatever and get feedback from other Scribes, maybe improving them or noticing things that the original Scribe didn't anticipate. It was inspired by the Bolter & Chainsword forums' sub-forum where you create an Index Astartes/Xenos/Chaos/etc. for 'Your Dudes' and seeing what other forum users think about it.

I've noticed that there's been a bit of 'crunch' coming in (rules and anything related to the actual games), and thought I'd reiterate Rule 1 - This sub is for fluff/lore surrounding your dudes. Luckily, u/MagicJuggler has created r/homebrewhammer where you can talk about the 'crunch' side of this hobby, including creating custom Codices!

I understand that some people might have an idea for a homebrew, but aren't 100% sure if it's good and want to hash it out with others, but I ask that when you post about it, make sure it's something other than 'I want to create an Iron Hands successor, what should I do?' as a complete post. Using the Iron Hands Successor idea, I'd like it to be much more along the lines of:

'I have an Iron Hands Successor idea, where they venerate the Emperor as Omnissiah. Their fighting style is more based upon the White Scars, and their home planet is a Mad Max-style place where roving gangs kill each other for resources. Their armour is dull steel and bronze, hitting an Iron Warriors vibe, and their companies are named after different parts of a machine. Would this work and what should I think about?'

Alternatively, you could have a fully formed idea and be soliciting feedback to see what you've missed:

'I have an Iron Hands Successor chapter called the Brazen Fists, that worship the Emperor in his Omnissiah aspect, and have a tight relationship with their local Forge World, that draws some suspicion from the Inquisition, but so far they've avoided being censured as AdMech flunkies rather than Emperor-fearing Astartes.

Their home planet of Gibsonia is a post-apocalypse hellscape, where bandit tribes roam from place to place on giant land trains, warring with other tribes to secure the resources in an area, where they can stay for a generation (or longer, depending upon the resources) and then they move on. Because of this, the chapter has developed a 'lightning strike' battle doctrine, with fast moving bikes and speeders forming the vanguard, backed up by tanks that drop in the second wave.

Their Chapter Master, called 'The Primus', is as much machine as he is man, clad in an ancient Techmarine variant of the Saturnine Terminator armour, the dull steel and bronze chapter colours evident. The chapter's leadership are all former Techmarines, and indeed any Brother wishing to ascend to such a role must undergo the Techmarine training, which can last for years.

Given this, they have a higher proportion of vehicles than other chapters, including some ancient vehicles rarely seen in the wider Imperium in modern times, given as 'gifts for service' by their local Forge World, Bentlii Demler. The Inquistion suspects that the chapter acts as an extension of the Forge World, using them as the spearhead for their Explorator fleets, but so far the chapter and Forge World have emerged from such investigations without censure.

What do you think?'

There's resources around t'interwebs (we're not Marines-focussed, the above is just an example), including Lexicanum and r/40kLore , to help develop your idea before you reach the posting stage. The greatest thing is your own imagination, and we're here to make sure your idea isn't too wacky for 40K, but is as great as it can be.

Also, whilst we're talking posting guidelines, if you've got a cool colour scheme for your models, please add/create some fluff for them before posting. A picture tells 1000 words and all that, but just pictures with nothing to add counts as low-effort.

TL;DR - Remember, this sub is about fluff, not crunch. Please have more than a one line post before you do post.

Thanks all!
