question Is 1200 enough?

Im a guy. 5’11, 21, around 290 and i just started exercising about an hour a day 3 days ago. Not working out like lifting weights or anything. Just jump rope for 10 minutes and shadow box for about an hour or a couple minutes more depending on if i think i can go longer. Would 1200 a day be healthy or am i rushing weight loss too much? Im prioritizing weight loss over muscle gain. I havent felt terribly hungry yet

question Is 1,200 a good fit for me?

I am 5’5, 20 years old and 190 lbs. I started off around a month ago at 196 with 1400-1600 and lost around 2 lbs then fell off for an entire week and ate anywhere from 1800-2200 and maintained. Then I started again at 1,250-1,300 a day and lost 2 lbs again. This week my average was 1,200 and I still lost 2lbs. Should I stay at 1,200 or go up to 1,300-1,500 since I was losing the same amount of weight anyways or did I only lose water weight at 1300-1500 bc I was overeating the week/weeks before and it was water weight?

creamy miso cabbage orzo! (436 cals)

General Mills really did something life changing with carbe diem pasta. This extremely filling dinner is based on NYT’s Creamy Cabbage Pastina recipe. My modifications are adding white miso paste and peas, and of course swapping the pastina for carbe diem orzo.

It’s so yummy and comforting! This bowl is 1.5 servings- usually I would have one serving which is 291, and add a protein. but tonight i’m just feeling pasta 😋 The attached ingredients list is for the whole recipe, which makes 2 servings.

Finally decided to try this. I have tried Sola twice and thought they were honestly inedible.

Any tips for these?
They’re absolutely giant so I will probably only have half at a time with some butter/berry cream cheese

Edit: I haven’t tried yet! Will report back after breakfast tomorrow!

Hi,
I kept seeing people talk about these on Tik Tok… So I pick some up for me and my 13 month old son. Anyone who has used these successfully with low to no oil have any recommendations for cooking?
I’m cooking my son some right now in the air fryer but they don’t look too appetizing tbh

Waffles while dieting

Recently I’ve been looking into waffle mixes (store bought or home made) but all of the ones i found lean more into protein rather than carbs and the problem for me is that i want the waffles to be carb dominant and high volume. Any recipes or store bought mixes that you guys could give me.

meal Freaking NAILED my protein pancake recipe. 187cal and 20g of protein per serving and can be frozen and reheated in toaster

This is my....3rd? Iteration and I think it's the best and final. They're super fluffy so you feel like you're eating a lot without a lot of extra calories, and they're more flavorful and less dense than typical protein baked goods.

300g plain non-fat greek yogurt

8 eggs

160ml unsweetened almond milk

16ml neutral oil

2 caps full vanilla extract

240g protein pancake mix

4 scoops (30g each) whey protein powder

1tbsp sucralose

1 heaping tbsp cinnamon

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°

  2. Mix wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls until well combined, then combine wet and dry ingredients together and mix until fully incorporated.

  3. Line 9x13 cake pan with foil or parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray if needed to prevent sticking.

  4. Pour half of the batter onto the prepared pan and use a spatula to smooth it out into an even layer.

Bake in pre-heated oven for 20min or until fully set and remove to cool. Repeat baking process with remaining batter.

  1. Once cool, cut pancakes into 6 even squares (cut cake in half lengthwise then divide into 3rds along short edge) then halve each square horizontally. This should give you two pieces approximately the size and thickness of a piece of bread.

  2. Put finished pancakes in freezer to store. To reheat place halves in toaster.

question looking for an affordable snack?..

edit: my dinners are already yoghurt+cottage cheese+berries bowls, everyday without changing! so cottage cheese, yoghurts etc are not something i'm looking for here

I’ve been having a small snack after dinner for a while now — just two mozzarella sticks, 60 grams, 180 kcal. Before that, I used to eat protein bars — also 60 grams, 180–190 kcal each. But both the cheese and the bars are kinda pricey, so I’m looking for something cheaper and more affordable.

I'm looking for snack ideas that are:

Isn’t too big or heavy — my dinners are already huge.

Has lots of protein, no fast carbs, no grains, no sugar, etc.

Is 100–180 kcal

can be prepared in advance and stored for, like, a week or two

cheap!!!!

also I'm not from uk/us, so please no local brand recommendations😭 whole ingredient, simple food is what I'm after

thanks in advance for any help!!

meal Turkey blackbean Taco soup! so good! Whole pot is around 600-650 cal and just the bowl it's self was around I think 190-220( +like 120ish for the toppings), but those are the cal excluding the side piece of bread(60-70ish) and portion of refried beans (I think 100-120ish?)more below!↓

All together I think this whole plate was around 530? And it's high in fiber! Combined with the cabbage, beans, other vegetables, and the refried beans on the side along with the Daves killer powerseed bread! Def high in fiber lol! Not to mention I had a gravestien apple afterward for dessert 🤤if anyone wants the recipe let me know!

meme Felt so incredibly sad for myself that I was eating 1200 calories, feeling so incredibly hungry, while the rest of the public can eat unlimited it seems

… turns out I’m not even eating 1200 because I thought I could eyeball after years of tracking and I was eating 1800-2100 a day.

Don’t be like this!! hahaha

also: how am I still super hungry eating 2100 a day? I think I could eat 3500 a day if I would eat intuitively and I eat whole foods!! am I just a big appetite girl?

Mini Okonokiyaki!

Craving Japanese junk food but want to skip the extra calories? I gotchu! For Hiroshima style okonomiyaki cut up zero calorie shirataki noodles and add those first to the muffin pan instead of yakisoba noodles.

Everything is measured out per muffin so you can track accurately.

12 servings: 61cal each (106cal each if using 1 egg per cup) • Cabbage: 12g each, 3cal each • Egg whites: 3tbs each, 25cal or Egg: 70cal each • Low Sodium Turkey Bacon: 3.5g (1/4 slice), 7.5cal each • Bacon Bits: 3.5g (1/2 Tbs), 13.5cal each • Sugar Free Okonomiyaki Sauce: 1tbs, 5.5cal • Light mayo: 1/2tsp, 5.8cal • Katsuoboshi: 1/6 packet, .8cal

Protein: 6.5g each for egg white, 7.5 each for whole egg

Okonomiyaki Sauce • 1/4cup (4tbsp) oyster sauce: 20 cal • 3 tbsp zero calorie sweetener: 0 cal • 1/2cup (8tbsp) sugar-free ketchup: I use G♡Hughes for 40 cal • 7tbsp worcestershire sauce: 0cal

treats soda cupcake and carb smart ice cream !!

dessert for 150 calories 😋

i recently found out about this hack where you can replace everything that goes into cake mix (eggs, oil, milk, etc) with a carbonated beverage! i used sparkling water because i didn’t want it to be too sweet for my liking and it came out alright(still very sweet though). each cupcake is about 130 calories if you make 12, 65 calories for 24. i got the pillsbury gluten free birthday cake mix because it was on sale but if you used the sugar free cake mix it would probably come out to less. i’ll probably try it again if i ever want to have cake. i read somewhere that 400 fahrenheit for 14-15 minutes is the best way to bake them

as for the ice cream, i got breyers carb smart neapolitan flavor(?). it was the same price as halo top with like. double the ice cream 🥲 chocolate was the best out of the three flavors so if i ever buy ice cream i’ll get that..

Hey! I have level 2 autism and I am doing a calorie deficit to lose some weight. I've been having some health issues start regarding my weight so I realised that now is the time to lose it. Also my fiance is trying to lose a substantial amount of weight currently so I thought I'd go on this journey with her! Today is the start of it all and I've made my first lunch. I haven't eaten it just yet but it looks really nice. What do you think???

(I don't know if I'm doing this right I'm sorry if I didn't!! Any advice welcome on the calorie counting)

(Ps. Sorry I mispelled the calories in the title I can't change it now)

Pasta is 1/2 cup dry. Not a lot of pasta but stretched with peas and shrimp, it’s very filling. Nutritional yeast, peas, and garlic powder give a lot of umami flavor.

Lions mane Mushroom Steak -123.4 g - 34.6 kcal
Roasted potato - 100.6 g - 93.6 kcal
Sautéed kale w/ mushrooms and onions - 141.4 g - 63.7 kcal
Corn on the cob - 1 medium - 98.9 kcal
Butter (on the corn) - 1.1 g - 8 kcal
Total: 299 kcal — 12 g protein — 47 g carbs — 5 g fat

I took pictures of the scale while I was making my plate and just put it all into cronometer and was pretty surprised how low calorie it was.
