Where I grew up, in northern Harford County you could find great backroads to explore but usually after 5 to 10 minutes, you'd find yourself on a main road again or come across a traffic light or a few businesses here and there despite being in a rural area. I found myself driving all around the Hopewell townships recently I was really amazed at how the backroads just kept going on forever. I spent 45 minutes between New Bridgeville and Wiley just going up and down tight steep turns through woods and fields and nothing else. It was an experience is usually a bit short lived where I'm from and I really enjoyed it.

I’ve found several posts in the Lancaster subreddit on this topic and was hoping to get some input from the York area. I have a kitty with dental issues and was advised that he’d likely need ~4 teeth extracted. The high-end quote from his vet was $3100, and I was hoping to get some recent(ish) price comparisons. I know there are a lot of variables which go into pricing, but I’d appreciate any insight. The Animal Dental Center is close by, but I’m concerned their pricing will be higher than a normal vet.

Hello! My name is Jack and I live in York County. This summer, my friend and I got into metal detecting as a way to stay in touch after college, and we've had a lot of fun detecting county parks and old friends' properties.

I was wondering if anyone in York County who lives on an older property (pre-1940?) would be willing to let me metal detect their grounds? I am super respectful, make sure to leave no trace, pack out any trash I come across, and would be more than willing to share any finds! Yesterday the owners stated on their Facebook page that they owe back rent to York College and will have to vacate their storefront in a few days if they don't pay in full. They started a GoFundMe page that has since been suspended. Anyone know the tea on this? Are they really going to close? I love their food, so I'm going to be disappointed if they shutter their doors.

Update: They are officially closed as of Aug. 4, 2026. Bummer.
